Hotel Polski "Pod Bialym Orlem" is a mid-size, private hotel and is in the heart of old Krakow. It is located at the corner of Florianska and Pijarska Streets, in front of the mediaeval defence walls, on which Cracow's painters present their paintings. Our next-door neighbour is the Czartoryski Museum, which houses Leonardo's famous Lady with an ermine. The hotel is one of the oldest in Krakow. For almost 200 years it has been offering accommodation for visitors. Charming, old interiors offer our guests modern amenities, It's only a stone's throw from anywhere here!

Great hotel in the heart of the tourist sites. Truly, the location could not have been better. The rooms are very spacious and clean, but you can hear the street noise at night as other reviews have noted. (No fault of the hotel, though). Staff were very friendly, the rates were very reasonable for the location and check-in and check-out was seamless. The hotel is a close walk to the a very large Carrefour, central city transit and tram lines are close by, the central train station (Kraków Główny) is 500 metres away and there are plenty of restaurant selections at your doorstep. Tip: Ask for a room that is not facing the street.

Exceeded our needs and expectations - great place to stay!
We stayed at Hotel Polski Pod Bialym Orlem for six nights in mid September 2022. The hotel’s location across from St Florian’s gate was very convenient to all of the sites in Rynek Glowny Square; the Wawel Castle, at the opposite end of Stare Mesto, is only a 15-20 minute walk. We were able to be picked up at the hotel for any tour that we arranged. The staff was very welcoming and easy to talk to regarding sites, transportation, my Polish ancestry, and just about anything else – they were all fluent in English. The room provided enough space to spread out for a six day stay, was clean, had comfortable beds, and since we requested an inner location, was quiet even though we were right off one of the main pedestrian streets (Florianska). We would gladly stay at Hotel Polski again and recommend it to other travelers.

    I would stay again
Recommended! The location is perfect (walking tours meet right outside), it’s really easy to get to everywhere and the staff were friendly. We booked our tours through the hotel too which were good as we were picked up and dropped off there. The only downside for us was breakfast - lots of salad but for the hot options there weren’t any left for us despite arriving 45 mins before the end. Only a few dried up beans, an egg and a few bits of sausage so we didn’t go to breakfast again after that. The waitress was also checking it so was fully aware. It was also my boyfriend’s 30th which I had told the hotel about so I hoped they might do something special, even just a little note with a chocolate or something but they didn’t but it didn’t impact our stay. The suite could also do with slippers and bathrobes to make it feel a bit more luxurious, maybe some fluffy towels too. I asked about a bathrobe but none available so would stay again but maybe not in the suite and without breakfast.

The location is unbeatable for walking around the old town. However, not very accessible by taxi. Room was clean and if decent size. There were some issues with Wi-Fi, which didn’t get resolved in our 3-day stay. A very small selection of vegetarian items for breakfast.

Oh, how I so loved staying in this hotel. After getting the family together (3 generations of us) to choose a suitable hotel in Krakow, we were getting nowhere, until I came across this gem of a hotel. One of the most outstanding features of this hotel is that it is full of character and charm and the customer service is absolutely wonderful and nothing is too much trouble. The staff on reception and in the dining hall are so helpful, friendly and welcoming. I'm so glad I chose a hotel that isn't the usual modern, bland, samey hotel. Situated in a historical part of the city, conveniently opposite the wonderful Czartoryski museum (well worth a visit), near to the Rynek Glowny, main market square and Sukiennice (Cloth Hall), yet in a quiet corner, by the Florian Gate. We had a standard double room, which was so very comfortable and my parents took a deluxe room, which provides more space, with a lounge area. The teenagers had a twin room and all rooms were exceptional. The communal areas are large and spacious and the interior is beautifully decorated - as I said before, full of charm. The breakfast provided was fantastic - a lot of choice for everyone, vegetarian and meat eaters alike. There are plenty of cold meats, cheeses, fresh rolls, fruit, cereals and more importantly a lovely hot choice of scrambled eggs with bacon and sausages and occasionally pancakes or 'placki', which are similar to vegetable fritters. Organising taxis for us and providing information on anything from local attractions to a recommendation for a good barber, was no trouble at all. We all agreed at the end of 9 night stay that we will most certainly be returning to this hotel, and this hotel only, when we next visit Krakow. Simply a wonderful stay in a top hotel - we cannot recommend enough!

Fantabulous stay. I always dreamt of staying in a traditional themed hotel and my dream has been fulfilled. A beautiful hotel right next to old town square, shopping and eateries. I saw lot of trip guides showing this hotel to the tourists. The room is ultimate, the decor of the room is so traditional and the best part its so clean. As you enter this hotel you feel like you are entering a castle. As they take you to your room its like a king is going to his room in a castle. The service and the hotel was so good that I booked Aushwitz Birkenau tour through them. I just loved everything about this hotel. If I ever be back to Krakow it has to be Polski Pod Białym Orłem for the stay. in fact I am planning next year with my family and I hope to upgrade myself to a bigger room next time. Receptionists and the service is top notch. Thanks for making my dream come true and for a beautiful stay.

This is not about the hotel itself, but about the amazing service we have received before even arriving. We have been trying to figure out transportation to Oświęcim, but have been unable to find the answers on line, so decided to try calling the hotel. A lovely man, Maciej, answered the phone, and has been emailing with us to help get us the information we needed. The service he provided was exceptional, and if that is any reflection of what our stay will be like, I can't wait!

Great hotel and great location situated close to the Florian Gate and just a short stroll to the main market place. The rooms are spacious and clean, while the breakfast is one of the best I’ve ever had. The bar downstairs is good with a beautiful courtyard to sit at the end of the day and unwind.

Amazing 5* hotel, excellent quiet location in the Old Town. Bedroom was spotlessly clean, daily cleaning. Rooms had hair dryer, tea/coffee, bottled water, toiletries, shoe shine, shower caps, clothes brush, sewing kit, slippers. Mini fridge stocked with minuture alcohol bottles, beer, chocolate, water and nuts (cost was extra). Staff very professional and helpful, nothing too much trouble. Breakfast was excellent, cereals, juices, fresh kiwi juice, champagne, fresh fruit, various teas/coffees, meats, cheeses, cooked eggs, bacon, sausages, mushrooms, beans. Various breads, marmalade, jams, 3 different honeys, pastries, constantly restocked. But the best was the taxi driver, Andrzej(booked through the hotel, cheaper than anywhere else). My husband left his phone (with credit cards) in the taxi, only discovered after going through security 🤦‍♀️. I rang hubby's phone and Andrzej answered and said he was back where we had been dropped off and he would wait for me there. He wouldn't take a reward and replied 'it is normal behaviour to turn back and help you'. So a 10* for Andrzej. An excellent hotel and taxi driver 👍

We recently spent 4 nights in a DL room at this really great hotel. The attention to detail is first class, it is perfectly clean, the reception team, housekeeping and breakfast teams cannot do enough for you. This is the second time we stayed here whilst in Krakow and hopefully it will not be our last. Full marks Hotel Polski pod Bialym Orlem. Others should learn from you !

Loved this hotel. Excellent friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. Great selection for breakfast, and one morning, due to an early start, they made up a breakfast bag for us, which was ready and waiting at 5.45. Our flight back on our last day was 8 pm. We left our luggage with them and also used the lounge downstairs, which is beautiful and so cosy. The room was great and overlooked the picture seller. We liked this hotel as it was just up from the main square, so it was a bit less noisy. We never ate in the restaurant, so we can't comment on that. But if you're looking for a lovely, more traditional hotel then I would recommend this one. Everything was great from start to finish and made our stay in krakow enjoyable. Thanks to all involved at the hotel
