Hotel Polski "Pod Bialym Orlem" is a mid-size, private hotel and is in the heart of old Krakow. It is located at the corner of Florianska and Pijarska Streets, in front of the mediaeval defence walls, on which Cracow's painters present their paintings. Our next-door neighbour is the Czartoryski Museum, which houses Leonardo's famous Lady with an ermine. The hotel is one of the oldest in Krakow. For almost 200 years it has been offering accommodation for visitors. Charming, old interiors offer our guests modern amenities, It's only a stone's throw from anywhere here!

Detailed Reviews
Great hotel in the heart of the tourist sites. Truly, the location could not have been better. The rooms are very spacious and clean, but you can hear the street noise at night as other reviews have noted. (No fault of the hotel, though). Staff were very friendly, the rates were very reasonable for the location and check-in and check-out was seamless.
The hotel is a close walk to the a very large Carrefour, central city transit and tram lines are close by, the central train station (Kraków Główny) is 500 metres away and there are plenty of restaurant selections at your doorstep.
Tip: Ask for a room that is not facing the street.

We stayed at Hotel Polski Pod Bialym Orlem for six nights in mid September 2022. The hotel’s location across from St Florian’s gate was very convenient to all of the sites in Rynek Glowny Square; the Wawel Castle, at the opposite end of Stare Mesto, is only a 15-20 minute walk. We were able to be picked up at the hotel for any tour that we arranged.
The staff was very welcoming and easy to talk to regarding sites, transportation, my Polish ancestry, and just about anything else – they were all fluent in English. The room provided enough space to spread out for a six day stay, was clean, had comfortable beds, and since we requested an inner location, was quiet even though we were right off one of the main pedestrian streets (Florianska).
We would gladly stay at Hotel Polski again and recommend it to other travelers.

Recommended! The location is perfect (walking tours meet right outside), it’s really easy to get to everywhere and the staff were friendly. We booked our tours through the hotel too which were good as we were picked up and dropped off there.
The only downside for us was breakfast - lots of salad but for the hot options there weren’t any left for us despite arriving 45 mins before the end. Only a few dried up beans, an egg and a few bits of sausage so we didn’t go to breakfast again after that. The waitress was also checking it so was fully aware.
It was also my boyfriend’s 30th which I had told the hotel about so I hoped they might do something special, even just a little note with a chocolate or something but they didn’t but it didn’t impact our stay.
The suite could also do with slippers and bathrobes to make it feel a bit more luxurious, maybe some fluffy towels too. I asked about a bathrobe but none available so would stay again but maybe not in the suite and without breakfast.

We booked this hotel on the recommendation from friends. It is in the perfect location with shops, restaurants and the old main square in one direction and a huge modern shopping centre and station in the other. We had a large room at the end of a corridoor and because it was my birthday a bottle of red wine was in the room waiting for us which was a nice touch. On our first morning we had no hot water at all so showered in cold, which was a shock. When we mentioned it to the guy at reception he seemed a bit offended and made us feel awkward as apparently "no-one else had mentioned it" but he said he would get someone to look at it. When we returned later in the day we had hot water and did for the rest of the week. Breakfasts were very good with a nice selection of hot and cold foods, cereals and fruit juice. I would recommend this hotel as it is very close to beautiful old town Krakow but in a quiet location so a good nights sleep is guaranteed. The only downside was that we didn't find the staff very friendly although other reviews did so may be we just chose a bad week!

This hotel is brilliantly located to explore this great city. A short stroll through the park from the main station and you arrive at this hotel. The hotel is only a further short walk to the main square and all the restaurants and bars to pick from.
We received a complimentary upgrade to a suite. Wow. Gorgeous room. Lots of complimentary toiletries to use, so no need to cram any into your hand luggage. Plenty of free tea and coffee too.
Breakfast was included in our stay and although only a cold buffet, was filling. Choice of yoghurts and fruit. Plenty of cheeses and meats and vegetables to pick, all served with a selection of breads.
Hotel felt very covid secure. Hand sanitiser for use each time you entered the hotel and dining room.
Reception staff extremely friendly too.
Highly recommend this hotel

Very few words needed here. This is a beautiful, romantic, old fashioned hotel. Extremely helpful and friendly staff and everything is spotless clean. Bottom line is this, if you want to visit Krakow, stay in a beautiful, well priced hotel in the most perfect location, and open your curtains in the morning to a breath taking view of a very small part of a stunning city...STAY HERE!

This hotel topped my expectations. The interior design is elegant, original, simply gorgeous. Such a refreshing alternative to the chain hotels that look the same everywhere. Here every room is different, all are very tastefully decorated. The hotel is very centrally located - one can reach it by train from the airport (12 zloty to the central station, 15 minutes) and then a five minute walk along the beautiful city wall. The area is great - many restaurants, jazz clubs, shops, sights to see. Everything is in walking distance. The hotel staff is very courteous and charming. My stay left nothing to be desired.

We stayed for three nights as this small hotel reminiscent of an old fashioned European grand hotel. The location is fabulous, on the edge of the Old Town by the city walls, in easy walking distance from the main square (Rynek Glowny) and most sights, restaurants, bars etc. - except the Wawel castle, but even that is manageable on foot.
Reception was friendly and efficient. Our room was not very large but very comfortable and quite elegant, fine if you're out and about most of the day. The bed was comfortable, lighting good, all all the necessary amenities were there : fridge. TV with satellite channels it in foreign languages, a safe, hairdryer and sufficient wardrobe and storage room. Our room was overlooking the back garden, as requested, and very quiet. Only the bathroom left a bit to be desired, and could do with an upgrade. The shower was in the bathtub (with a curtain rather than a screen) which was so narrow it was difficult to turn. The sides of the bath were so high that it was difficult to step into the tub, especially for a very elderly person.
The buffet breakfast in the pretty restaurant adjoining the lovely garden was excellent. All the usual cold choices (plus a few hot ones) were available: fruits, juices, cereal, eggs, cheese, cold cuts and so on. There were also some fishy offerings including smoked salmon, some delightful delicacies
plus sparkling wine for a celebratory breakfast. Delightful!
The staff we encountered were all very pleasant and polite.
We loved our stay, and I would chose this lovely hotel again.

Absolutely outstanding hotel! Location location location right off the main square literally less then 3 minutes walk and you are there. Thank you for Matthew for our very kind upgrade as we were there celebrating myself and my husbands birthday so wonderful surprise. Hotel arranged airport pick up for us which was fab. William was also fantastic so thank you! Room clean big and all we needed with a fab view. Coffee pods kettle sewing kit hairdryer etc I could go on. Breakfast great choice served from 730am to 10am with prosecco each morning. Bread meats pastry cheese sausages egg fruit etc etc good choice. Lovely dining room and peaceful. Hotel had a lovely downstairs chilling area where we had some drinks. Nothing was a bother and I would say this is defo a 5 star hotel. Communication from William and Mathew was wonderful I would highly recommend this hotel if your coming to stay in Krakow. Only negative I would say was a funny smell in the toilet but that's it. Towels can be changed daily if you want room service and rooms turned down daily. Mini bar if needed. Robes and slippers also in room Hotel come out turn right and your onto as we called it the street of everything from Costa to mcds to wax museum to grocery shops to vodka tasting and more! We had late flight check out 12pm but hotel store cases to allow another wonderful day. What a lovely hotel you have thank you!

Me & my husband have not long returned from our trip to Krakow -Poland where we stayed in Hotel Polski. We stayed for 3 nights 4 days & we really didn't want to come home.
From start to finish our experience with the hotel was 5 star.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐...down to the booking, hotel communication, staff, the food, service, our room, cleanliness...just EVERYTHING, this hotel was just amazing!!
I had booked the trip for my husbands surprise 40th & when we arrived in our room, they had left a complimentary bottle of red wine (8 years old I must say & devine ) in our room with a note to my husband. Such a beautiful touch.
The staff at the front desk (a young lady called Joanna in particular (I think, apologies if not) really looked after us & gave us lots of assistance & useful information about places to go for great local cuisine, our trip pick up points etc. She even called up & made a few restaurant reservations for us. Thank you 😊.
Breakfast was by far the best i've had in any hotel that we've stayed in. Could not fault it one little bit & again service was fantastic.
Me & my husband are already planning or next trip back..
Thank you for having us. We'll be back.

It’s extra
Hi, 7am until 10am. However we chose room only as there are so many small eateries around the square to have breakfast.
Hello, we had a lovely large room and there would be enough room for 3 but definitely ask for one of their largest rooms. Great hotel in a great spot.
I don’t know there was only 2 of us and the double room was small.
yes the room we had did have one , it is in the bathroom,it is a very nice hotel
