I do not have much to write about this hotel. breakfast was nice, hotel was clean, but it was not great, it was an average property. it was not very close to the centre of the city, we still had to take tram to get there
The Senator Hotel is fairly nondescript from the outside but inside it is pleasantly furnished. The hotel is on the outskirts of Katowice, about a 15 minute walk from the city centre and there is a tram stop directly outside the hotel gates however due to renovations in the city there is only one tram operating at the time of this review, the number 40 which terminates in the centre. We booked a twin room for two nights on a bed and breakfast basis, we had a good welcome at reception where the hotel facilities were explained in detail. Our room was on the first floor. The room was quite large with two comfortable beds, a large balcony, there was a small TV with a small selection of domestic channels. There was a lot of storage space. The bathroom was large with a good powerful shower but no bath. We had breakfast on one occasion which was a buffet selection with cold cuts, bread and rolls, juice, tea/coffee, yogurt, cereals also sausages and scrambled egg. It was extremely substantial and very good considering it was included in the room rate. We had dinner on two occasions and the food was very reasonably priced but was also delicious and served quickly. The hotel is an excellent choice and the staff were all friendly and extremely helpful.…
We spent one night there after a long journey. So we were happy to have basically any hotel. But it was not so bad as I expected. A very spacious room with a balcony (the view was nothing but fresh air was great - there was no air conditioning in the hotel). A bit shabby but clean bathroom. Beds were no good though - too soft matrasses and pillows. It was unbelievably stuffy in the corridors - why not open a window there? The breakfast was surprisingly good! Friendly stuff.
I stayed there for one night only - very nice stay, very relaxing. The room was big and clean, the staff was polite and helpful, the only pity is the location - it's rather sad and devastated neighborhood, but it's pretty close to train station, and to city center as well. The breakfast (included in price) was yummy! I can recommend this one, especially if you're on a budget - it's not expensive.
The neighborhood, like the hotel building - is uninteresting. Everything is dirty and ugly. I do not want to go walk there at night. The rooms are dirty and don't smell nice. Sometimes lack of water (unless something was broken.) Breakfast is included - but NOT good. I slept there only once - luckily
