A group of six of us stayed at this hotel on a recent golf trip to the area. The first room I was given was very small, but the staff soon moved me to a much better room which had scenic alpine wallpaper and much more space to move around. The room was clean but on a negative side, there were holes in the sheets which were not replaced during our 4 night stay. The breakfast selections were unusual but acceptable and the staff all very friendly and helpful. The only other down side was my room was at the front and there is quite a lot of road noise as well as noise from freight trains during the night. Would I go back? ............. Overall, it was a clean hotel, with friendly staff and rooms of an older style. Yes I would go back as it served well as a base for our golfing trip.

The hotel is very clean and not in an old style. Also the rooms have enough space. But if you want to sleep longer than 6am, it's not possible, because the people that are working in houses behind the hotel are very very loud.

It's a nice cosy place with modern and historic decor. We had a picture of London bridge as a wall paper which was contrasting with dark historic-looking furniture. The room was rather small without any fridge and with too much furniture. Overall, it was a nice experience. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was delicious.

A cosy room for 3 - a cot was provided for extra. Beds comfortable, bathroom spotless. First floor room (behind the roof-top bowling pins) could have been sweltering with black roof outside our window, thankfully it was overcast, it was pleasant. No air conditioning. Breakfast was extra and perfect with delicious options - varieties of cheese, eggs and sausage, fresh bread, fruits, juices, water with lemon - a coffee machine offering many choices: espresso, cappuccino, milky coffee. We spent hours away at Jasna Góra Monastery and then sight-seeing and were able to store our luggage with management until we retrieved it to catch our train home. I recommend Złote Arkady - with welcoming staff, speaking very good English.

Stayed at the hotel for 2 nights for a friends wedding, staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and tidy and had all you would need for a short stay. There is a bowling alley in the hotel which also serves food and drink, found it all to be very reasonably priced. Only down fall was the breakfast that was included, found it to have very little choice and food was not topped up and dealt with often enough. On a couple of occasions items ran out and were not replenished. Other than that it was a lovely stay and I'd recommend to anyone staying in the area.

To things to improve : a. No lift for suitcases b. No dinner on Saturdays night. The hotel is clean and the staff nice. Rooms are comfortable, although you may hear the bowling below, downstairs. It's close to city centre and shops and restaurants. It's a good choice in Czestochowa.

TA is always my first source of reference when it comes to booking hotels, but for Czestochowa, there were very few choices listed. Which is odd, considering the place is "the Vatican of Poland". All reviews were for expensive star hotels, backpacker-style hostels or highway motels. I am a budget traveller without a car, looking for 2-3 star accomodation, suitably located to access the sights on foot. I found this hotel's website using google, and couldn't believe it wasn't listed. I booked it via email, and the response was quick and courteous. It's an extremely well-maintained, very affordable place, with English-speaking staff, located roughly half a kilometre from the Pauline monastery and even closer to the railway station. It's on a quiet street, away from the noise and craziness of the pilgrimage crowd, and yet just a hop-skip-and-jump to the centre. It has a few single rooms (which are rather rare), outdoor garden seating, and a 24-hour bar. The biggest surprise was the quality of the rooms and bathrooms. Everything looked brand new. The bed and linen was fabulously comfortable, the bathroom beautifully designed with a pretty window overlooking some trees. Free wifi is available in the rooms. I had a lovely time there, and would highly recommend it for solo travellers, couples, families or even large groups. The only downside was that they offer facilities to host conferences, parties and other events. Weddings in Poland are noisy, rowdy affairs, that go on till dawn. One of my nights was rather disturbed because of a wedding downstairs. But if you are used to earplugs, or plan to be there on any day except Saturday, you are guaranteed to have a wonderful stay.
