Fantastic small hotel. Very low price out of sezon. It's only 2 star hotel but standard is like 4 star. Nice big comfortable rooms and fantastic service. Location in heart of Sopot close to all atractions
What a lovely hotel clean and friendly and perfect location to anywhere really lovely staff very helpful and friendly and fantastic breakfast noise can be an issue I’m afraid but can only be expected for its location but would not stop me returning great value for money really loved it and sopot on a hole
First things first. It’s our first visit to Poland and there’s no downsides of note. I say so as we found only a few folk rude, surprisingly in a kebab joint and a cafe in Sopot - the hospitality industry - but that’s likely cultural as often we are polite through gritted teeth ourselves, so hypocrisy recognised Sopot is a real gem of a place and a base to tour this part of Poland. We visited Gdańsk and Gdynia too. The train station is under 10 minutes uphill walk from Sedan. We chose Sopot as it’s a sea side place and it was the end of the summer season. The Sedan hotel is quaint. It is also genuinely charming. Charming also describes all the staff we met on our 7 nights here. It wasn’t a long enough stay really. You do need a level of physical fitness for this hotel as there are steps into it, there isn’t a lift and the staircase is quite steep. We were fortunate on arrival that the chap who checked us in, very quickly, also took our cases to the 1st floor quickly too. Breakfast food here is first class, especially as I’m a fish lover. There’s herrings & mackerel on offer daily with cress and tangy pickles. My wife isn’t a lover of such briny, vinegary things but there’s lots for her to enjoy including scrambled eggs, ham, cheeses, jams, yoghurts, cakes and pancakes. They bake their own breads too but their white loaf wasn’t to our taste as it’s dry, open textured and coarse but that’s personal taste. We observed plenty of guests eating copious amounts of it with butter so we’re in the minority here. The breakfast coffee machine has an umbilical milk tube feeding into it for cappuccino, it also offers espresso and black coffee as it wheezes, grinds and then it eventually splutters out good coffee; if it were a human the sounds it makes at work would easily burn off hundreds of calories. It kept breaking down and it was retired on our second last day. Our 1st floor room had two cosy single beds. It was a small room with a separate shower room with a shower that’s even smaller than on Norwegian cruise ships. If you are thin you should be ok. I’m not. Still we managed just fine but there is a caution here as the temperature on the shower is finely set: a slight twist of the handle either way and it’s quickly scalding or cold. So beware you don’t accidentally knock against it - a mistake you won’t make twice. The prevailing noise outside our room was seagulls crying with the odd crow caw. There’s in-room coffee & tea but no milk and tv and air con we didn’t use. The hotel offers 2 course lunches at 35 pz a person. We did try to get lunch but the day we did they only had chicken as they were waiting on a delivery so that was that. The hotel also houses a Thai massage parlour (see photo) separate entrance so it was our first port of call day 1 but they don’t offer traditional Thai massages. We found this strange so we went elsewhere, just a five minute walk away. So we enjoyed a great stay and it’s a 5 star place all the way. …
My partner and I stayed here for four nights, 26th to 29th August 2019. Our room was great, spacious, with a spiral staircase up to the bedroom area on the floor above. The hotel is lovely, clean, nicely decorated and retaining some interesting features from the original 'villa'. The staff are friendly and polite. It really does deserve more than it's two star status. However, there was a downside to our stay. The room we had was at the front of the buliding and EVERY night we were disturbed, quite badly, by the noise from the 'Mewa Towarzyska' club above the Tapas Bar oposite the hotel. This was from music played inside and the drunken shouting from people leaving and hanging around outside. The club being open until 5.am!! Our room had double glazing, but even with the windows closed, our sleep was disrupted. I am aware that Sopot has a reputation for a resort that 'never sleeps' but the presence of such a noisy night venue in a quiet residential area seems questionable to say the least. I liked the hotel though, breakfasts were very good with lots of choice. I would advise anyone considering staying here to request a room as far away from the front street as possible if they want a good nights sleep. It's a pity that such a nice place is spoiled by the prescence of a totally inconsidrate nearby business…
This two star hotel might has well been a three star. We first got a room next to the reception (no. 10). Very noisy and I did not get much sleep. No problem to change room. Very service minded and friendly staff. The location is great and the breakfast is nice. The rooms are clean and the standard is what you expect from a 2-3 star. Water and coffee in the room. No elevator. The shower is good. Recommended.
Our room, on the third floor, was large, quiet and clean. No elevator, but the bellman readily carried our luggage up. The staff was cordial and helpful with recommendations and directions. The restaurant was quite good. The location was perfect, as downtown and the beach are both close and easily walked.
This place has only two stars, but deserves more than that. The location is great, close to everything in the city centre. We found it very charming, nice and clean, and the staff was very friendly. Check-in and -out was fast and informative. There is a parking lot in the back yard. They make a charge for this (20 PLN per day), but your car is safe. The room was quiet and had all amenities needed, including an electric boiler for making tea or coffee. No fridge though. The room had a wooden floor, the bathroom tiles. An air conditioner was installed, but we never used it, as the temperature was comfortable without it. The beds were a bit hard, but OK. It was very quiet, and no street noise at all. The wifi and TV worked well, and the breakfast was very good, with all the regular choices of warm and cold food, plus a good coffee machine. To be recommended.…
Great; - location - staff - breakfast - WiFi(better the home😱) - very clean - excellent air-conditioner 😁❤️ nitpicking(things that didn't bother me but maybe will bother others); - no elevator - creaking wooden floor - only polandic channels
The Sedan is located just a few steps away from the main street. They have an enclosed parking lot (at a cost) just outside the hotel. There is no lift and several steps up to the reception. We were swiftly checked in by a friendly lady although we arrived early. Nice room, good wifi, comfortable beds and very clean. Thankfully, it was airconditioned (30° outside!). The breakfast (not included in our room price) was good, lots of choices. Would stay again.
Excellent location 5 minute walk from the railway station and only 25 minutes away from Gdansk. Clean and comfortable with friendly staff and a good breakfast . Although 2 minutes walk from the town centre which is very lively at night we could not hear any noise! Bike hire is available. I would love to rate it excellent but no lift!
