I stayed in the hotel for 3 nights and really enjoyed my trip. The hotel is only 2 minutes walk from Sopot beach (you can see the sea from your window!) and is situated between Gdansk and Gdynia. If you hire a bike or enjoy running like me you can visit both places from the hotel easier following the coastal path/bike route. The breakfast gives lots of choice and is very tasty. The hotel is generally quiet so is perfect for a quiet break but families would enjoy it too being so close to the beach. Restaurant below the hotel means you never need to walk far for food or drinks! I will go again for sure. Matt UK
This is agreat little hotel with clean large and comfortable rooms. If for whatever crazy reason you wish to visit the polish seaside then this is perfect.. ideally located right on the so called beach. Breakfast is quite good although it lacks anything sweet. As for criticism I would say thru could afford to have somewhat better towels. Also while they had very nice shower gel abs shampoo there was no handsoap. Staff was polite though somewhat apathetic... with a tinny bit of effort and attention to detail this would have been a 5 star review... would still recommend this hotel worth no reservation
We stayed for 3 nights during high season. Our room was in a house just nearby the main building. Pretty ok hotel with great location at the beach. They have a lot that can be a lot better, but fair price for the stay. On the plusside: location at the beach, pretty close to town (walk 10 min), clean, wi-fi, ok bar and restaurant. On the downside: wi-fi only worked in the lobby, no fridge in the room, only one curtain so it was bright early, no aircondition, arrogant receptiongirl, the room was ready one hour after estimated check-in, horrible extra bed, no new clean sheets etc.
We enoyed the stay at Flamingo vila very much. Cosy, new apartments. Fantastic girls at reception.. Profesional and sweat... Good location. The sea near to hotel... And The unique fish restoran nearby . What else to wish :) Thank, you.
I came here for two nights during Euro 2012, so the prices were quite high in all the area because Gdansk as host city had a lot of fans coming to watch soccer in June 2012. The outside of the hotel does not look very attractive, but we stayed in a room that was recently renovated so it was surprising for a 2-star hotel. The breakfast was normal, while we enjoyed a good dinner at the hotel. The location of the hotel is very good, because its 100m from the beach but we didnt come to the hotel for this purpose. I only used the hotel to get a good sleep and I was happy to find such a place during this busy period of time.
Enjoyed my stay at the Burstzyn and loved Sopot but it was expensive (£100 per night through booking.com in mid-July) for what we got. Room was very basic. Fantastic location, right next to the beach and a very quiet location but easy walking distance to the centre of Sopot. Would stay again at the right price.
Don't do it. Yes, you may enjoy knowing you're two steps away from the beach (invisible as it is from the property). And yes, the Modernist villas that are Bursztyn Hotel are little gems of pre-war architecture. But you will be depressed by the devastation of the rooms, the stale odour of the cheap 1970s upholstery, the operating-room-green tiles in that weird closet behind a flimsy door. It may be the economical option but... Just don't.
I booked a night here through an agent which guaranted the best price. Unfortunately they did not guarantee the room booked. My reservation was for a deluxe room with view and balcony. On registration I was sent to another house outside the hotel grounds to a ground floor room on with street view and no balcony. Even though I was with a Polish-speaking friend we still could understand where the building was and had to return twice to reception. Then the key did not work, two more trips and finally a cleaner with a master key. Of course with no key card I also had no power and no light in the bathroom. Throughout the time no one from reception was willing to get off their backsides and come and help me find the room or get into it. The room had a comfortable bed but not much more. The hospitality tray contained two tea bags, no coffee or whitener. The dreary outlook was a depressing start to my stay. Glad I stayed only one night - until the Wanda had available rooms (see separate review). I would not go back to Burstyn. It just seems to have no management - a common problem in Polish hotels in my exerience. Ma agebt booking.com initally responded that it was sorry I had not got the requested balcony and view. But it was not "on request" it was in the room description and part of my contract. Full marks to Booking.com they took the trouble to call me when they realised their mistake. One hopes they won't deal with this hotel again. It is not really fair to describe a room falsely and then say they have the cheapest price. their claim is meaningless if you do not get what you paid for. Given that some rooms not inthe hotel are basically rooms for rent in other buildings the prices are crazy.…
