What a beautiful hotel, located just by the seafront. The micro-climate is phenomenal and my lungs have never felt more rejuvenated than after this stay. We stayed in the A building on the 9th floor with a stunning panoramic sea view. The room was clean and modern. On the other hand, it could have been only our room (905B), but there wasn't any electrical outlet/lamp by the bed (I was unable to read a book in bed).

Breakfast was great. A varied selection of things to eat, despite of the fact that two of us are vegetarians. HOWEVER, lunch and dinner was a huge let-down! This hotel have no experience whatsoever when it comes to vegetarian dishes. You can't expect a person to live on salads (iceberg lettuce), fried cheese and potato-pancakes. Vegetarianism does not rely on eating salads and root vegetables (as some may think). Before even making a reservation we were made sure that there wouldn't be any problem with providing us with a vegetarian diet.

Another issue that many other guests also complained about were the lifts. Waiting for an empty lift took a ridiculous amount of time (there are 3 in the A building). Time that could have been spent elsewhere. Taking the stairs wasn't the most ideal option from the 9th floor.

Nevertheless, we would like to come back to Arka for another stay, as the hotel is beautiful. I just sincerely hope that the hotel staff realize and take on the problems they have.

The hotel is a good few years old. The spa needs attention from the management re customers' education - small kids running inside, people getting into saunas in swim suits and flip flops, etc. Close to the sea (front line). Virtually all guests are pensioners. Rather clean and tidy. Staff welcoming and knowledgable.

Day1 Sofa bed falling apart, air con leaked all over carpet and fridge. Mended quickly to be fair, but left soaking towel on floor; water all over the top of fridge which was still plugged in.
Asked for some ice for room- point blank refused- hotel policy! Offered to pay, told by bar to go to a shop at 10pm with nearest shop if open 25mins walk!

Family booked 3 rooms for most of the week- shocking customer service.

Food at dinner was average at best, smelt like a school canteen. Stodgy old fashioned food. The best thing was the bread and cakes! The thought of dinner for another 4 days is not very appetising!

The location is great, next to the beach and they offer a variety of treatments which are not cheap

P*rnographic Pictures of naked women hang all around the pool room. Right in front of the children and families. Absolutely disgusting. Never again. When I saw that, I felt so disgusted and i wanted to throw up. Dont go there with children or with literally anybody. Looking at that and enjoying it while in a relationship is cheating. Yet i saw so many men cheat that day cuz they were all staring at those pictures. Even children.

it was our seventh or eighth stay in Arka. really worst and worst, under any respect.
maybe only because of high season, but it is no excuse.
the big resort which allow to be with children without any fee - getting no any feedback for them - is terrible !! meals in children corner look terrible. food which is designated especially for children like pancakes - cold, permanently lack of milk on children table !! waiting for cornflakes which are missing after a while - 20 minutes !! you never met somebody responsible for kitchen service. my opinion is, they sold all rooms, maybe even a bit cheaper than competition, without any preparation for so many people.
won't go there any time further.

additionally, if you think that selecting the room many weeks before the season is a good idea, I have to disappointed you. it is cheaper - right, but as in my case, I have got first the small room at 6th floor - with 2 beds. when explained, that we are 4 total, so two adults + children 9 and 6 - the stuff at the desk said, that small children could sleep with parents, all together ! unbelievable ! OK, we can do that, if we want, but the reason to come for holiday is to sleep quite well, for at least one week, without children. for my claim, we have got normal room, on the ground floor, but with enough space.

Employees do not know the opening hours of the bar (Eleven Bar). I have phone the reception desk before I came there, to ask if it is still open. I was told it is and will be for the next two hours. When I arrived 45 minutes later I was told the bar will be closed in 15 (instead of 1hours 15 mins). As I do not like to have a drink in a hurry I have left.

Also the parking space is paid, which I knew. But since the bar was closed, I have asked for a refund. I have explained that I have phoned before to ask for opening hours, that I had to ride with my car couple of kilometers to get there, and that the bar was practically closed. I did not get a refund - "There is nothing I can do", I was told.

As you can imagine I was not very happy. Especially since I went there with my girlfriend, so that we can do something special.

two days into our 5 days stay, this is getting funny.

Massages:
Book your massages in advance, as for a great deal of massages could only take place after our 5 day stay. So no shiatsu for us. I guess a 5 day stay is not enough.

Fitness room:
13 cardio machines, bikes, treadmill, cross trainers, stairclimber.. all working !!
9 fitness machines, one bench. works great only the bench is not suitable for abb and back work.
4 sets of dumbells, will not take you far if you, as I, like to use freeweights.
Remember to bring a towel, as they put in 8 towels at 0900 in the morning, and do not refill.

Tennis court:
they have a great indoor tenniscourt, that can be rented for 40pln an hour.
Too bad that the hotel could only manage to find 3, (three) rackets. Not quite enough if you are a family of four that wants to play. I guess the fourth went missing in 1982.
So bring own rackets.

Consierge:
Serviceminded, smiling, great english, great advices !!!!!.

We stayed at the Arka Medical Spa for 3 nights in July.

First of all, this hotel looks excellent in the pictures, and the reviews were quite good. Some things about this place are in fact not bad, but for the most of the time our stay was a disappointment.

The room: Old! Rooms are classic 70s.

Service: What? Never heard that word. Stuff simply doesn´t work at this place. Room service was a big joke with like 5 alternatives, it was hard to even get hold of them. It took me an hour to reach them and when I got through, it was some crazy party in the background.

Food: What a joke. Room service as well as breakfast and the half-board alternative, almost uneatable

Hotel area: It has a very strange layout with nothing of interest, either in front or in the back. You need to walk distances to reach anything. The pool area is really not up to score for a 4-star hotel either.

What is nice is the proximity to the beach, and the small garden in the back where you can get drinks and sun chairs. But that is not enough to stay here ever again.

Just came back from a sunny family weekend in Kolobrzeg. Snow all over Poland but we still decided to spend a refreshing weekend at the seaside. Huge surprise - no rain and no snow in Kołobrzeg. We had a great time at apartment 606, all perfectly prepared according to the offer. Nothing else that we could have expected.
Even if the weathe gets worse the hotel gives you so many possibilities to spend time. Definitely good choice for a family weekend !
