The customer experience is on par with a 5 star hotel. The staff was responsive and very courteous at the same time. The rooms are very clean and modern. I highly recommend signing up for the free tour as we enjoyed every minute of it. It’s about 2 hours, but the tour guide is visibly passionate at how much she loves Gdańsk and she was funny and engaging. It is in a great location within 15 minutes walking to the end of Old Town and the Forum shopping center.
Outside the room, there was a busy construction site, working from 06.00 am to 6 pm and even on Saturday...... Not okay ! Noise and small rooms. Bed and duvet very soft and in good condition. No minibar available.
I will start with the positives. The location was great, the style of the hotel was nice and the roof bar was really good and the bartender was great. Unfortunately that is where the positives end. The hotel did not make it clear that the room we had booked did not have a window to the outside world so there was very little natural light in the room. Had it of been made clearer at booking we would have upgraded for a room with sunlight or booked elsewhere. We have used Puro hotels before and loved them but sadly this will be the last time we stay in one because of a very unpleasant experience which has sadly left us with a negative opinion of the brand We asked the reception on the cost for a T-shirt, pair of pants and a casual T-shirt dress to be laundered and were quoted and told it would be ready 7am the next day. Sadly the next day the laundry hadn’t arrived we went to reception and they had lost it. We had a train to catch to Warsaw but they got it back just in time (though it was a very stressful encounter ) we can forgive this as mistakes happen but the bit that really upset us was that when we checked out we were charged 220pln for laundry (approx £39) this was for a T-shirt , a T-shirt dress and one pair of underwear. We were running late so didn’t have time to query it but sent a message I’m from our Uber to the train to to ask why it was so much to try and resolve it straight away and the hotel didn’t even bother to reply. The hotel style was nice and location was good but I would recommend travellers to check into one of the other great places nearby where they will get a window in the room and not get ripped off by staff and then not responded to when trying to resolve. Avoid…
We loved our stat at PURO, and would definetly recommend staying here! Me and my boyfriend went to Gdansk for his birthday and were met by very nice employees and lovely facilities. Modern, clean and comfertable
PURO Gdansk is located at the heart of Gdansk old town, which makes it the perfect spot for a city visit. Front desk staff is very supportive and professional...Check-In was done pretty fast...getting slowed down only by the mandatory inputs from the guests into a SAMSUNG-pad...looks cool and futuristic, but in my view does not add any value for the traveller. We had an "internal" room looking in the inner courtyard of the Hotel...quite o.k., but an outside view into the city would be much nicer (and more costly😉). Due to the inside location the room was low in natural lighting. The only downside of the room was the climate control, that could not be set to desired temperature...it was too warm for us, even on the lowest temp. setting. Breakfast buffet is fabulous and the all-day free coffee and tea in the lobby is a very nice bous as well. We can HIGHLY recommend the Spa treatments with natural cosmetics...relaxing, caring and nurturing as well.…
Modern looking hotel having very friendly staff. Check-in was possible before noon, so extra points for that. Unfortenately there was renovation in our floor generally and room next to us, so there was some noise made by constructors. Also probably because of renovation, Air con. was working only few hours, so nights were quite hot to sleep. New building was made next to hotel so hotel surrounding was quite noisy and restless.
Very nice hotel with great staff and amazing breakfasts. The rooms are clean and cozy. The staff is very friendly with fluent English. I didn't realize that the hotel is pet friendly ( I have allergies), but I figured that out.
Construction next door wake you up at 7 am on eastern holidays, not exactly the way you want to wake up on holidays. Besides that, the hotel is an average one. Good location in the center of the old city, as many others. No views.
As you can see from my previous reviews I generally stay in a nearby hotel, but my colleagues travelling regularly to Gdansk challenged me to stay in the Puro to try. One of the best thing ever happened to me!!! ( as in the future I have to spend significant time in Gdansk). The hotel is just AMAZING!! I'm actually so confident that i'm writing my review while sitting in one of the room ( on the extremely comfortable bed, leaning against the best pillows ever!) My booking mail and queries were answered literally in minutes. Upon my arrival ( literally in the middle of the night) the front desk staff was fab ( Kudos to the gent who tracked me down at 1.30 am on the street as I could not find the reception :D) The hotel is certainly different, and this is a compliment. I absolutely LOVE the style ( the curtain between bedroom and bathroom is a very nice touch while when it is open with the glass sides of the bathroom the room feels much bigger. The bed is just increadibly comfortable and whoever picked the pillows deserves a payrise. Also the bedding is brilliant with the feel of crisp cleanliness. The decor, the attention to details, the storage, the qualities of the toilettries are just fantastic. Restaurant and bar will be reviewed separately, as for the hotel......see you next month…
