Detailed Reviews
It's called a hostel but it really feels like a hotel with some dorms room thrown in. The facilities are pretty good with an impressive huge kitchen. There is also a tv room and a pool table. If you stay in the dorm it's good value.

I came to Gdańsk just for short trip to the dentist, thus I do not want to blow my entire pocket and decided to stay 2 nights at hostel. However, 3city hostel is a wrong choice ! I stayed in 8-dorm bed room. Overall the hostel has only 2 shower room and 3 toilet bowl on each floor. There is no key/ lock, so while you shower or go to the toilet anyone can just enter and peek and it was terrifying! Lot of hair on the floor and very dirty wall. As for toilets they ain't better, it was smelly, no toilet paper, clogged and even the toilets on 2nd floor were not flushed, hence it smelled awful! I only showered once there and no more, as for toilet i often used toilet from the cafe next door, or whenever i eat out and visit malls. I noticed there in such a big hostel, I only saw 1 person who clean. Also because the hostel is right in the road junction and at a busy traffic spot, you can hear nonstop the tram noises, car honks, buses all kind of vehicles. It was extremely noisy, I did not sleep well those 2 nights, especially when an idiot decided to open the windows, it made the noises even louder. Avoid this hotel! Just pay a little more and you can get a much better, cleaner hostel nearby. Trust me it's not worth to save couples of zloty and loose your sleep's quality. However the night receptionist lady with black hair was very nice to me and tried her best to move me to a less noisy room even though she could hardly speak english, I really appreciate her effort !

I found some of the staff friendly and others really unfriendly. One staff member was sitting in his desk chair with his girlfriend wrapped around him, looking at the computer. He seemed completely uninterested in helping any guests. The hostel itself is clean and bright with a big kitchen/lounge area. The walls are quite thin so you can hear everyone in the hallway. It was okay, but I don't know if I would stay there again.

Hello everyone, this hotel is okay as hostel. No air due to a stupid banner covering the window.
BUT BEWARE TO STAY HERE! Especially with children!
Manager is acting like a criminal and terrorising his clients bz engaging in illegal blackmailing as soon as you break something!
Here is the story:
My cousin was on a school trip with a class. Due to the "most clever" idea one have ever seen: Covering the windows with a giant advertising banner, she felt bad, had nausea and could not breathe . She decided to cut the small part of that banner (see photo) in order to get some air. She, and her parents, and we, totally acknowledge our fault and we wanted to pay for the repair.
What a hotel manager did:
-He had taken her passport into his safe in his cabinet
-He took the girl to police twice
-He was blackmailing us (see photo) by asking for 4000 Euros for the whole banner (a little research gave us an idea that the whole new poster would not cost him more than 200 Euros.) or he would not give the passport back and would "inform border guards"
-After we had contacted the consulate, the consular misson (!) had explained the manager the situation (!!) three times (!!!), the guy gave my cousin her passport back but was hindering her and her school group from entering the bus back.
-The guy was very angry and polite on the phone and was assuring us "He would have to arrest the girl so she has to stay in polish jail.
-In the end, after the consular mission had explained that the manager has to go to court and ask for money through the court, "the price" has dropped to 1200 Euros,
These circumstances will be shortly filed against the manager, especially of taking the girl as a hostage.
So other than that: stupid banner covering the wonderful view of Gdansk.
TOTAL NO GO!

Booked this hostel thanks to solid reviews on various websites, thought we'd give it a go. Right on an intersection of a busy street, easy to get to but a lot of traffic noise from outside especially as we were facing the road. The tour looked promoising, first couple of floors were nice, bright, airy and clean, well decorated. Unfortunately we were then taken up to the 3rd floor up a dodgy stairwell with holes in the walls, the 3rd floor consisted of two bedrooms, a kitchenette and a bathroom.
The bathroom was horrendous, the shower didn't work due to a hole in the hose, and the toilet was pointless because anyone can see through the window from the stairwell. Great for privacy!
The bedroom was basically 4 walls with 2 bunk beds thrown in. It was the hottest room I have ever slept in, even sleeping with the door wide open, and the windows wide open, it was hotter than the sun. Imagine actually being in an oven, i'm sure you'd be cooler than if you were in this room.
Breakfast was awful, the breakfast room had been taken over by a load of noisy old russian women, they'd been utterly selfish and taken all the breakfast stuff and put it on their table. Didn't know what we were allowed to eat and what was 'personal' food brought in from outside. Gave it a miss and went out for food instead.
The pool area / table football area was nice actually. Pool isn't available after ten to stop noise I guess, which makes sense. This was the only good thing about the facilities on site!
The staff were friendly tbf, happy to help, and there was a nicely stocked beer fridge in reception at good prices. But there was nowhere to store our bags until check in and after check out, so we took the risk of leaving our bags under some chairs. Glad nothing got stolen!
All in all, this is probably the worst hostel I've ever, ever stayed in, purely because the options at night were sleep in a quiet room and boil to death, or open a window, maybe become lightly toasted, but get a headache from all the noise outside. Also v inconvenient having to go down 1 or 2 floors to shower. Wouldn't recommend. Avoid room 302. 3rd floor should be completely closed down in my opinion.
The biggest annoyance for us is that we paid the same money as people who clearly had bigger, cleaner, cooler, nicer rooms downstairs.

Myself and 3 friends booked this hostel as on the website it look very modern and clean. Upon arrival it looks horrendous from the outside but once in its ok, they won't let you check in until 3 and have nowhere to leave your bags apart from behind a chair in reception. Once checked in we where led on a tour of the facilities then led up a back stair case past a pile of old radiators and other building supplies to out room. The smell was pretty awful and the room was so hot, it looked like they had just chuck a couple of beds in an old room. There was a bathroom opposite our room but the shower didn't work so we had to go to the next floor down. Breakfast was a disaster don't even bother.
I have emailed the hostel since our return and they haven't even bothered to reply.

+1
I have spent three nights in this hostel and quite frankly, it has a strange vibe. The reception service was okay, but not very amicable. the shower is a nightmare if you are looking for privacy basically, there isn't any. The showers and toilets are all in The same room , which means that if you want to take a shower, you'll see people coming and going to use the toilets. To make matters worse, the shower door is semi-transparent. Anyone going pee can see you naked in the shower. The kitchen smelled terrible and it wasn't very well-cleaned. There are lockers in the room, but when I asked for the keys, the receptionist told me she lost them. If you can, stay somewhere else. The good thing is that it is close to the main train station.

Out of 100 hostels I've visited, it's gotta be the worst service. Reception guy with glasses who was working on Aug 18 2018 should get fired asap. Hostel is also very impersonal, snobby and 20 Euros a night it's a rip off! So many other good hostels in Gdańsk to choose from! Go elsewhere.

First of all there are only 2 bathrooms and showers per floor. I was placed in a 8 person room with 9 other people. The rooms don't have ANY room to even walk and not enough air to breathe. You basically have to choose between breathing and sleeping. The Hostel is located right next to a big road next to the Central Station and if you want to have some sort of airflow during the night you will hear loads of cars, trams and drunk people. Not to mention the fact that the only window on the room is blocked by a commercial, that during the night is lit up, making it impossible to sleep.
