Excellent location with an amazing view of beautiful Gdansk. Across from main town, there is a convenient walking bridge that is open on the half hour to the hour during the day, and all evening. Not far to the other bridge which is always open. A few minutes from several decent restaurant choices. An interesting historical building. Lovely restaurant, especially the patio at night beside the canal. Good breakfast. Pleasant staff. Rooms are comfortable enough. Bathrooms are huge.
We stayed here for four nights. On the first day, we asked if they had a laundry service. The guy at the counter who barely spoke English made clear they had one. Our mistake: we didn’t question the procedure or the price. They didn’t inform us either. We had to ask and wait three days to get the laundry back, because ‘something’ (no ones English was good enough to explain what) had gone wrong. Finally we got it, but when we checked out een had to pay almost €60.- (!!!) for one bag of laundry! Other than that the service was pretty bad as well, the hotel was outdated and overpriced. Location is pretty good (but so think the young people who hang and ‘party’ around the area during the summer).
From outside everything looks great - old warehouse building (from 17th century) ,supercentrally located on Olowianka ,free parking - you are in very center of Gdansk. From inside - worn out interior , limited TV channels (analogue) , jamming windows. All in all - interesting experience ,but not to return.
What a lovely beautifully presented hotel. Had a little issue with the toilet flushing system in the room I have booked but was very swiftly moved to a top of hotel room with an enormous sitting room, separate bedroom and nice size bathroom. Bathroom was bit outdated (tiles) however the water pressure was top notch (which as you know might be an issue in some hotels on the 5th floor). 2 TV' - one in the bedroom and one in the sitting room. No kettle so no tea! That was bit unexpected as I love my bedtime tea. BUT I was willing to forgive it because, omg,the views!!! Breathtaking. And,Ladies and Gentlemen, BREAKFAST is wow. Bread was still warm... A definite place to stay and enjoy.
The hotel is brilliantly located in the old town of Gdansk and is within walking distance of everything. The staff were all very friendly and polite and yes some of the decor is a little dated, but the room was spotlessly clean and tidy with a large bathroom, comfortable sofa and seating area and a large bedroom. The bed was huge and seriously comfortable!!! I wanted to take the bed home with me. Breakfast was what you would expect and it was fresh and delicious. Plus you can't beat eating in the restaurant looking out over the gorgeous canal and old town. Without a doubt we would stay there again.
This hotel is extremely convenient for Gdansk Old Town. A short walk across a footbridge and your are in the Old Town. Very pleasant and friendly hotel with good breakfast. The Old Town is a surprise with beautiful old buildings with plenty of places to eat. Herring is a favourite item on many of the menus, One of the tastiest is pickled but not the usual way, sweet and tender absolutely delicious and an excellent starter. Game and duck are also popular. Wander around the streets in the evening with many colourful photo opportunities. Visit the Solidarity museum where Lech Walenca took on the might of the Polish Government and the USSR a real eye opener and about 20 minute walk from the Old Town,
Fantastic short stay, friendly helpful staff. Restaurant food was delicious. Definitely go back for longer stay. A photo of a view from the hotel room. Hotel in walking distance of all shops, taxis, restaurants.
You can't beat this hotel for comfort and location. Yes, its not the Ritz and some of the wallpaper is from the 1970s, but we were so comfortable in a double room with a river view. The mattresses on the beds were great. It was clean and friendly and everything just a short walk away. We didn't have breakfast but we did have an evening meal which was really, really good. Amazing value for money as well. there was a bit of noise outside from drunken people (it was a Saturday night) but nothing major.
Wonderful hotel with view of the river. We also totally enjoyed the restaurant both for our evening meal and also for breakfast. Our waitress was so helpful and the food was great. It was our first stop in Poland and made such a great beginning to our trip. Also having free and easy parking was very prized in Gdansk. It is a very short and pleasant walk across the bridge to the main part of town. Lodging on the other side less congested side of the river was pleasant.
the staff were great helping us all the way from the start to the end . the bar staff were as good taking your order for drinks and get you served straight away. the restaurant staff were as helpful serving you with a smile every time speaking very good English, even down to there recommendation. The breakfast was very good chose as well which was helpful for someone with food disorders. we had to depart early at 7.15 breakfast is 07.00 to 10.00 the young girl who looks like she was the head of breakfast as she was always there was so kind that she open the breakfast early for us at 6.45 so helping us get on our way without the rush. She gets a 100% from me
