What a fantastic hotel. A real change from the modern chain hotels. The staff are very welcome and helpful. The room was very comfortable with all the facilities required. The hotel is centrally located, only a short walk to the many attractions. We would 100% stay here again.
Old style hotel with only 10 rooms. Located next to canal. Room very clean and had robes, slippers and plenty of toiletries. Breakfast had the usual continental items and cooked items cooked to order. The staff very pleasant and helpful. Would recommend this hotel for a stay in Gdańsk.
Just a bar would have been nice rather than drinking in the albreit beautiful lobby. . Pretty basic the hotel, but high quality, room and lobby lovely, staff even lovelier. Fantastic location in historic Gdansk but shame it couldn't be opened up a bit more to residents and locals. Believe there was a downstairs breakfast room not that I used it. As I said staff were first rate, and hotel booked me and a friend on a tour of Gdansk with Marta from who was absolutely brilliant. B
This is a little hotel in Old town, I drove past it :) anyway, I don't know how many rooms but it has 2 floors, maybe a few rooms on each floor. Very small parking area and the cost was high / day. Very nice room, comfortable bed. Bathroom was a bathtub with shower. Breakfast was maybe a little small, but it was enough for my need in the morning. The location of this hotel is perfect, 5 minutes and you are among all the restaurants and stuff, they had a antique market that was open all day, and alot of other small booths with stuff to buy. The walls are kinda thin, so you hear your neighbour quite easily, this was maybe the only thing that annoyed me abit. but other than that I really liked this hotel.
From the moment we arrived to the time we left Podewils we felt incredibly welcome. All staff were delightful, it was obvious that they are proud to work at this hotel. It was remarkably easy to kick back and enjoy our short break in Gdansk. Our room exceeded expectations, housekeeping services were excellent. Breakfast is currently the only meal offered by the hotel, but with so many cafes in very close proximity this was not an issue. If you are looking for a quiet break Podewils is highly recommended, if we return to Gdansk this is exactly where we will stay.
This hotel was so charming! It’s located just off the main area. This was nice, because the quietness added to the peacefulness of the hotel. However, there were restaurants and anything you could need still within a block or two. The staff was amazing! I was traveling with my mom and sister. Our arrival into Poland was a comedy off errors, but the staff was so helpful in guiding us through our problems in a new country. Pawel especially went out of his way to help us. But really, every staff member was so helpful and friendly. Perfect start to our Poland journey. The rooms were clean and charming. Nothing like you’d find in a chain hotel. The bathtub/shower took a bit to get used to, but not an issue. Breakfast was excellent. They even noted that I didn’t finish my porridge the first day, because it was too much to finish. They brought me a smaller portion the next morning. They also, brought up tea in the afternoon. Service at its finest!…
We stayed at Podewil’s for 3 nights. The manager Magda and her staff were just so friendly and helpful with suggestions on how to best enjoy Gdańsk. I have traveled around the world and Podewils just had such a comfortable and understated feel. This is not the place if you are looking for super elegant lodgings.
A splendid hotel with baroque atmosphere in the centre of Gdansk. It is located in an old house and looks like a little palace. I was fascinated by the welcome drink and sweets. Perfect service, friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. I stayed in a room on the top floor with a spacious bathroom. The view from this room is stunning! They have their own small parking.
A wonderful historic hotel in a great location. Like a beautiful palace. Decorated with beautiful wallpapers, curtains and classic furniture which all create an atmosphere from old noble times. When we arrived we have been welcomed in a very warm way, all staff was so polite and helpful. They serve perfect breakfast. We had our breakfast every morning watching from the window the beautiful river view. We also had dinner at the Restaurant which had a lovely atmosphere. We stayed from 19 - 22 February. If we visit Gdansk again we will stay for sure to Podewils which is a fabulous hotel! Elena & Demetris Cyprus
It was a small and charming hotel, but we expected better service, more facilities and higher quality from a 5 star hotel. It was listed with having a spa and jacuzzi, the spa was a simple sauna and the jacuzzi was inside one guestroom. When we asked where the nearest spa was, the receptionist was unable to answer and we went to one we found on Google.
