If you are coming by train, there are numerous buses that depart from the central train station. The buses will take you within five minutes of the hotel. Buses 130, 131, 184, 199 and 210 get off at the fourth bus stop Focha 02, as you leave the bus turn to the left, same direction bus is travelling. As you start to walk, look to the left and up and you will see the hotel. The hotel is located in a quiet area, only a grocery store is available. Check-in was fast and reception friendly. I had requested an upper floor and was placed on the top floor #3. The room was nicely done, with all the amenities one could ask for. Comfortable bed, wifi, TV, mini bar, in room safe. The bathroom was immaculate very tidy and clean. Water pressure in the shower was very good. The hotel has a very nice dining room, it is open for breakfast and dinner. The morning breakfast buffet was good. The evening menu was excellent with many choices all delicious, and dessert well, save room for it. I recommend this hotel, a nice stay and the prices are reasonable.…
I cannot praise this hotel enough. There were so many hidden features and facilities that I really started to appreciate them when other hotels lacked it. The rooms are nice with shower caps and a safe. There is a lovely leafy conservatory area, hot bath and even smoking room. The breakfast was great and varied and there was even Prosecco if that is your thing. The hotel is situated 3 bus ride from the city center but it is also walkable distance and the hotel offers free parking which is great. I really enjoyed staying there
I have visited Amber hotel tow times - so that says a lot that I have decided to return. Over all, every thing was good. Especially - SPA, you will get a towel and that is all you need, it has good sauna temperature, IR sauna and jacuzzy, cosy and clean. Both time it was empty. Breakfast - a lot of options. The minor thigs that could be improved - smoking cabin - the ventilation is not connected and I would place sauna rules near the sauna. In general I will return back one day.
First of all i review hotels according to their stars, in this case it means that its way more then a 3 star hotel. The staff is very good. The rooms are really good size, beds ok zise but real god matrasses. Clean everywhere. Good amentitis, free coffe/tea/water and also a minibar Wifi ok. Nice common verandas. Close to public transport. So to the things that make this hotel something extra. Breakfast in 3-4 star hotels can be a great dissapointment, this hotel had hands down the best breakfast i have seen in eastern europe, the only small flaw was that they only had 2 juices, but overal way beyond expectations. The jacuzzi area. Real nice jacuuzzi are which you pay 20 zloty to be in ( apx 5 euros/dollars) Relaxing beds steam bath jacuzzi etc.
So many hotels look just the same but here is one that is different with free-standing furniture in the bedroom. Well situated for (cheap) buses into town and on a direct route from the airport, though that can get crowded with cases. The buffet breakfast has an astonishing range of dishes on offer and these are constantly refreshed when necessary by the efficient, but not intrusive, staff. The choice of evening meals is of moderate size but the quality is good and interesting.
We stayed two nights at Hotel Amber for a city break. We arrived before our room was ready so were given a free drink in the sunny garden while we waited. Our room was light and airy with a balcony overlooking the impressive Neptune mural opposite. The location is an enjoyable 20-minute stroll to Old Town, but you can get an Uber for about 10zl. Breakfast had a bit of everything and it was great to try some Polish specialities next to more familiar options. The staff were kind and helpful, even storing our luggage for the day before we flew home. Will definitely be back!
Quiet place / location Clean and large room Confortable bed Good, tasty, diverse, consistent continental breakfast Excellent value for money Friendly staff, speaking English very fluently Highly recommended!
We spent 5 nights in the Amber hotel, and wouldn't hesitate about returning for another stay. Proximity is good for the airport, and only minutes away from the old town by bus, or taxi. If feeling energetic, you can walk into town, and within 30 mins stroll along the riverside. Comfy enough bed, decent pillows, and tea and coffee facilities in the room. The buffet breakfast should easily satisfy most travellers, and there's plenty of choice. All in all, a great place to base oneself.
We stayed for 4 nights last week. The hotel is a little dated and not really near anything else. Immaculately clean and we loved the restaurant on site. The service in the restaurant was very very efficient, with the staff running the restaurant and a private function nobody had to wait for anything. Not sure of the waiters name but you were working with Paulina and both of you did a fantastic job. Now to the receptionist!! Where do I start, Joanna and Ola helped us so much, we got lost a few times!! We had problems with our phones so had to get other people to call the hotel to organize taxis for us!! They were incredibly helpful and patient, thanks ladies. Breakfast was good so was the spa facilities. One piece of advice only use My taxis, reliable and good value for money ask about them at reception.…
Set just in a quite area but near the waterfront but close to restaurants and about 10-15 minutes walk from the old town.It is within walking distance of several museums ,Second World War museum,European Solidarity museum and several others. It took us about 15 minutes to walk to the station . The hotel was clean rooms where a good size and the beds where comfortable. All the staff where fine and breakfasts was good ,I would recommend this hotel to any one visiting Gdańsk.
