This 3 star hotel is difficult to describe. It's not bad, but... 25 years ago it could be a very good comfort 4 star hotel. But nothing changed from that times. Furniture... interior… you can feel old times from everything. But funny is, that we liked that feeling :) Somehow it reminded us our childhood when we went with our parents to ski. This hotel has its own atmosphere. Anyway, staff is polite and helpful and tried to do for us everything we asked for (like in 5 star hotel). Hotel is situated 15 min walk from town center. If you don't like to walk, you can use taxi which takes you anywhere in town for just 2 Euro! Ask for contact at hotel reception. They will like to call it for you anytime. Hotel has it own pool , sauna, wellness procedures and bowling, but their minus is, that you have to check times when they are open. Sauna is open only 2 days a week… In summer time you can use tennis courts, mini golf or outdoor swimming pool. Of course, you can find better accommodation in town, but if you don't mind old fashioned hotel, for that money is good choice.

As you probably have read now in previous reviews, yes, the hotel was built in the communist era of then Czechoslovakia. It is outdated in some parts. But generally, I should say it was a good stay. The hotel location is just ideal for winter or summer outdoors. It is close to the mountain area of Postovni. It it well known for hiking, cycling and skiing. The hotel has an indoor and outdoor pools. Tennis courts and an old mini golf. Also, there is a health club which has sauna and massage departments. But, you should check the Bowling area. It is something which I have only seen on TV in old movies. However, it is working and it is fun to try it. Room was clean, so was the bathroom. The hotel staff are friendly and kind. Some of them speak English. We didn't try the food like lunch or dinner, but I must say they smelled good. A nice breakfast buffet from 7 to 9 pm. I recommend this hotel. It is fun.

In September 2014 I spent three nights in this Soviet-style hotel while booked on a Dvorana Tours trip through Slovakia, Poland and the Czech Republic. From the outside the hotel isn’t what you’d say is appealing and overall it seems like a time capsule of a former era. The check-in experience reinforced that theme, starting with handing over your passports on arrival for the duration of your stay. My brother and I had a clean but quite spartan twin room on the third floor, with an old cathode ray television (it had been a while since I’d seen one of those), a utilitarian bathroom, plus a small bare balcony. The very, very thin towels were threadbare at the edges, while the single-ply toilet paper seemed as though it could also be suitable for use in the light sanding of woodwork. The “pillow” was exactly the same thin-ness as the bed covering, providing little softness or comfort unless rolled into triple layers. Free wi-fi was available, but only in and around the hotel’s lobby area. There were two full-size lifts, plenty of open-air parking spaces and the hotel had a large restaurant with truly excellent food of an evening at very economical prices. I stayed in much less comfortable hotels on the tour so for me this rated as an average-quality place for an outlying location.

Although the looks betray this hotel's communist era construction, the staff make this a very welcoming hotel. Good restaurant, and plenty of sports facilities are available. Breakfasts are a special delight being of a very high quality with plenty of tempting options on offer. The hotel is well situated for walking into the town, visiting the Wallachian outdoor museum ( a must - modelled on the Swedish Skansen), or for catching a bus up to the pretty village of Pustevny. This hotel is ideal for families with young children.
