The hotel was in a really excellent location, about a 3 minute walk to the main square and right next to a park. The entire hotel was spotlessly clean. The bedroom was large and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious as well. So, everything was perfect, but actually the best thing about this hotel were its staff. I found them to be absolutely lovely - extremely friendly and ready to help whenever they could. I hope to return to Olomouc, and if I do, I will definitely stay here.

Located close to old, restored town of Olomouc, Czech Republic, this is a Good Place to spend a few days in Olomouc.

We booked our room at the Alley after a cursory search on the web while driving, and were pleasantly surprised by our experience. The hotel is designed for business travelers and as such is rather sterile, but the staff is extremely friendly, competent, and helpful, and the location is quite good. Our room was large, comfortable, and modern and there was secure on-site parking. The receptionist referred us to a restaurant, Moravski, in the town center, and it was an excellent dining experience. Although Olomouc was not a scheduled stop in our itinerary, we're very glad we opted to spend a night there.

The service was excellent, all staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.
The bonus is that it is very quiet location and parking easy. The hotel has an excellent location for exploring the old town of Olomouc also.
Our room was large, clean and comfortable, with new furniture, flat TV. Bathroom was modern and clean.
The breakfast was very good, buffet style with a choice of both cold and hot items, cereals, yoghurts, breads, cakes etc.
During a stay we used a lounge for a business meeting with our customers from this region of the Czech Republic. Very good value for money.

Pleasantly surprised with the changes at this hotel. Rooms very comfortable, breakfast was good and service excellent. Location is perfect if you have business at the university, but also close enough to the centre of town for site seeing. Bar has good selection of drinks including of course Czech pivo!

Great hotel in a great location! The breakfast was great. The people nice. We even had a whirl pool in our room. We paid 128 euros and had a huge bedroom a gigantic living room outdoor patio which was 5 m by 5 m with a table 4 chairs and a large umbrella a real bargain

The Hotel Alley is perfectly located for viewing the sights of Olomouc. On the edge of the Old Town, it's easy to access (from the railway station take tram 1 or 7 and get off at “Tržnice”), yet quietly tucked away behind the police station (look for their sign - “Městská Policie”). The front-desk staff are helpful and always try to respond in English, the rooms are spotless - and as the weather was beginning to warm up, we were glad of the air-conditioning. The breakfast has been justly praised by other posters - simple fare but pretty extensive and nicely presented. We will certainly come back.

Olomouc is a beautifull city. Location of this hotel is really good - 3min walk to main square and right besides police station. Staff was extremely friendly. Rooms are big, modern, free wiffi and breakfast included. Breakfast was ok, not 4 star for sure. We had luke warm coffee everyday. Felt silly asking everyday to get fresh or just heat up my coffee. My husband had drinks at the bar, next day at same hour 11pm we were refused to get alcohol except wine. It didn't make any sense. I would comeback if I would get great rate.

Driving between Krakow and Prague, Olomouc is half-way between the two cities and our reason for stopping (three hours driving is our preferred limit). Although, admittedly, when we looked at the hotel from the outside and wondered whether to go inside or not, we didn't have much option and ventured inside.
The hotel, which I think was built from the Soviet era, had very friendly staff and the rooms were clean and adequate in size. Although English was a little struggle, we all managed to communicate well. I don't think there is too many other hotel options in the older section, which is really the best place to stay (the newer section of town is very commercial).
Olomouc is the most medieval of all of the places we visited on this trip! Because it is not a tourist location, there is a feeling of what it was like to live here in the past. Having arrived on a Sunday, the square was almost deserted, except for the few restaurants and many ice cream stands surrounding the square. Although I regrettably lost the town brochure, I believe it was inhabited in 500 BC! Whereas in all of the other places we visited, you can see parts of the walls that were erected to protect the village, here in Olomouc, the entire wall is intact! The center square, which is currently being upgraded, is filled with archeology finds and flags. We explored the area carefully, seeing where even prior civilizations existed.
Dinner recommendations were fabulous and a full meal, with beer was $20. A great surprise of a medieval village that we didn't expect and truly enjoyed!

We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. The staff is super friendly and helpful. It is in a great location - in the city centre while also being quiet. Our room faced a small park. The bed was amazing. Everything was clean. The was a large selection at breakfast. The scrambled eggs were delicious! We enjoyed the sauna as well. There was nobody else that evening. We would definitely stay here again!
