Delightful small pension in an old building with walking distance to everywhere in Olomouc city centre. The room was lovely and service very friendly. Every day you get to choose your breakfast from a menu and it's freshly prepared for you.

We were in Olomouc for a couple days and stayed at Pension Royal. The most important thing is that the room was immaculately clean, as was the whole facility. You have to reserve a time and choose your meal in advance for breakfast but they had some excellent choices on the menu. Given how small the place is, this is quite understandable. Breakfast is served on a terrace at the back of the property. On the downside, all rooms are at least one flight of stairs up, some more. If you are carrying luggage, a stroller or have bed knees, this could be a drawback. Also the rooms are not air conditioned and do NOT have fans, so summer evenings can be very hot until about 4 am. One night we had a drunk singing outside our window until the wee smalls. Despite these small problems, we would definitely stay here again but bring a fan.

Our stay at Pension Royal was great. There were 3 of us in a VERY clean two bedroom suite with nice views, comfortable beds, friendly and helpful staff, and wonderful breakfast. Parking was nearby, and there were many restaurants in the area. I was also pleasantly surprised to find a washer/dryer combo in the bathroom. I would definitely recommend Pension Royal.

We stayed in Olomouc, as a stopover, and chose this hotel. it was overall a bad experience. Certainly not royal anyway. The rooms on the ground floor overlooking the "lobby" are not soundproofed, we were woken up by partygoers at 1:30 a.m., who normally hang out in the lobby. Everything can be heard through the door. If the bathroom is correct and clean, it is impossible to open a window, because the rooms overlook the street where the tram passes and it is extremely noisy (even if you close all the windows, you need air conditioning plugs). ears otherwise we are awake). In addition, the curtains and blinds are not blackout, which is what you would expect from a 4 star hotel. So impossible to have darkness in the room. We slept very badly there. Finally, the bedding is very poor quality bedding, in any case not AT ALL at the level of a 4 star. Harsh and probably not up to the standards of a decent hotel. Pleasant welcome by a student (the reception is not open all the time) and parking not 50 meters away as the site indicates, but rather 100 meters away, it is impossible to pay if you don't have local currency. the credit card does not work and neither does the QR code..! Finally nowhere were we told that, next to the hotel there is a reception center for homeless people (SDF) there were 5 in front of the hotel when we arrived, and one sitting on the stairs when we left in the morning, already drunk... that didn't reassure us. In short, for the price (133 euros all the same) it's way too expensive, especially for a city that's rather dirty and not very interesting. Breakfast wasn't of much interest either but was ok. We had requested a reservation at a local restaurant, and in fact this restaurant was quite a walk away while 30 meters away there was an excellent Italian restaurant which we eventually went to. Taking the tram was not possible, because there is no ticket machine, unless you use a QR code and an application that does not accept payments with credit cards from other countries outside the city. Czechia... Very disappointing

Very good service, professional staff and convenient location. The room (downstairs) is very comfortable with a great bathroom and terrace. The staff is cooperative and helpful. The small hotel is located one station from the city-center (10 min. to walk).

Three of us spent three nights in 'Rafael', which is two rooms each with two single beds which can be pushed together. There is one bathroom that can only be accessed through one of the bedrooms and the floor levels are uneven - so can be challenging, especially in the dark.
While the building (a former friary) was very atmospheric (wooden beams, creaky floors etc), and we loved the angel motifs that feature throughout, we could only give this place an Acceptable rating. The two halves of our 'double' bed kept drifting apart during the night. The internet was very spotty, and there wasn't a fridge in the room, although we were able to borrow an electric kettle and cups from downstairs to brew tea from our own supplies.
The main problem however was the darkness of the rooms, even during the day. Two of the lights in each room were not working (one socket was completely non-functional), and the bathroom, which had no natural light, was a real black hole. Reception was only able to provide us with one replacement light globe.
There isn't any air-con, which may be a problem in the warmer weather, as it would be difficult to sleep with the windows open. As well as the trams that run outside there are a number of late night bars in the area which give rise to a fair bit of noise at chucking out time. The pension is also adjacent to a social relief charity, and we had to step around a couple of homeless people camped on the doorstep when returning one night. Even with earplugs and the windows closed we were still woken throughout the night - the 'double glazing' did not seem to stop much of the external noise.
This is only a three room pension, and during our stay the front desk was staffed by one person at breakfast or when someone was checking in. Although they were very friendly and helpful, the fact that the building and the reception/breakfast area was usually locked up gave the place a bit of an anonymous feel. The breakfast was adequate for a short stay, but it was basic and little variety. We never met the owner, so don't book expecting a typical B &B experience. There is a bar of sorts- but it was not open during our stay.

Very interesting B&B in a converted 250 year old house. We took the "apartment" room and just the bathroom was larger than the entire room that we had the previous night! Apartment had to be at least 60 sq.m. (close to 700 sq.ft.). and featured a full kitchen/eating area and private exterior courtyard in addition to large bedroom and bath. Location is excellent, right on a tram stop, 2 blocks to main cathedral, and 15 minutes' walk to main square. There were some minor maintenance issues (wires sticking out of walls, etc.) resulting from converting such an old building to hotel rooms, but everything was clean and functional. Only saw the owner in the mornings at breakfast time. Breakfast was extremely good too. The breakfast room was advertised as a wine bar in the evenings, but never saw it open during our 3-day stay and with only 3 rooms in the place I'm not sure they would ever have enough customers. Lots of original artwork on the walls was for sale, so perhaps the owner is an artist? Bit of a language gap so not sure. We'd stay here again.

We booked a double room with a washing machine and breakfast for two nights.
The web page suggested that we could also book dinner in advance. I sent an email asking for dinner for one of the nights.
Thank room was very spacious, clean with quality bedding and towels.
It is very convenient to the railway station, the tram and the town centre but tram noise starts about 5am and goes til late.
However, not only was there no washing machine but breakfast was served in a café up the street.Unfortunately for us, the café didn't open until 9 am on Saturday when we had a train to catch so we had no breakfast.
Needless to say, dinner was not offered.
There is no one on site, except guests, over night and no one at the weekend.

The location is good, and can be reached from the train / bus station by tram easily. The old town square is within walking distance or can be reached by tram. The staff is kind. The room was big, clean and decorated in a classic style. It has the view of the church. Price was very reasonable.
Needed to walk up the two floors of stairs to our room, a difficult task when you have heavy luggage.

We stayed here on our honeymoon and were really impressed by the large, beautiful bedrooms with a historical feel. The staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast delicious. Our only regret was that we only had one night in Olomouc.
