The black eagle is a nice hotel which feels like staying in a museum and it has a nice restaurant too. There are a few negative aspects which are acceptable such as the lack of an elevator, although the in room complementary beverage selection of instant nescafe and Lipton yellow label tea felt inappropriate, at this price some nicer coffee... We were in Prague late June early July this year and ate here twice. On both nights the food and service was exceptional. Excellent location in lower town just over Charles bridge. Could not recommend it highly enough. Two fillet steaks and wine for just over £30.00

Just had a wonderful meal her. The surroundings are traditional and the service good. Particularly recommend the goulash soup served in a bread loaf and then the ribs both sublime. A short walk from the bridge where you can enjoy soaking the atmosphere and views.

I'm so glad I took a friend's recommendation to stay across the river in the Mala Strana because it's quieter and away from the hoards. It's just as quaint and also near important cites to visit such as Prague Castle. We stayed in room 11 which is the Imperial Suite. Quite a lot of stairs but worth the climb. What... More

We did not stay at the hotel, so we cannot judge the hotel, but the restaurant in the hotel was an absolute find. (If I could have found the restaurant on TripAdvisor, I would have critiqued there, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to rate this restaurant somewhere.) We were without a reservation for this night and decided to... More

Upon arrival i was greeted with a smile and welcoming atmosphere. I upgraded my room to the imperial suite (room 11) and was in HEAVEN... the room had everything a girl could ask for including a kitchen and balcony overlooking the beautiful city view. Each morning i walked downstairs and was greeted with a friendly "good morning" and was escorted... More

Everything (ABSOLUTLY everything) was perfect during our stay: – wonderful service of reception - I must say that was the most welcoming and attentive people on reception I ever had (and I visited more than 50 countries) - Restaurant staff and food was excellent! Waiters are very professional, helpful and nice. Special thanks to two waiters who had to wait... More

I did quite extensive research on various sites before choosing this hotel. It is amazing how many hotels there are which say that they are within 5 minutes walk of Charles Bridge! This one is within about one minute's walk, so it couldn't be better placed for getting into both the old Prague and the castle area. The hotel is... More

We stumbled across this humble place to eat and found it outstanding, the service was excellent, very attentive people who took pride in their jobs. The food was very high standard, we both had the French onion soup followed by the goats cheese salad and the Caesar salad for mains which were both to die for. It's a pity I... More

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighborhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighborhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighborhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
