Prague has now become our favorite city in Europe! It is breathtaking. We have been three times and hope to go again. It is clean, inexpensive, the historical buildings are original due to the fact they did not get bombed during WWII. Lots of history. Cobblestone streets, fresh bakeries and farmers markets. We also went during Christmas and enjoyed the Christmas market, as well as took a drive to Dresden, Germany for their very large Christmas market. It can be quite cold during that time of year so bundle up!

We spent six days in Prague in June and cannot say we really enjoyed it. Prague is a beautiful city in appearance but is let down by it's people and it's treatment of tourists. The local people are an indifferent bunch. Younger people we met were generally nice and friendly but we cannot say the same for the older lot. We are in our late 50's and our Czech peers are a rude and surly crowd. To asking for directions to service in hospitality venues, they come across as having a huge chip on their shoulders, and you put it there. One day we were waiting to get on a tram and a woman exiting literally shoulder charged my wife. She strode off unapologetically, oblivious to the choice words my wife shouted after her. This was just one incident but we were forewarned to stay on the

All started out ok enough. Rooms are very dated and beds are hard and uncomfortable. First two nights were again fine but the third night is quite possibly the worst hotel experience in my life. What I can only assume was the fire alarm going off at 5:20am, it went on for a good couple of minutes so I went down to see the reception. He said he hadn’t heard anything and ALL BAR ONE OTHER ROOM hadn’t heard anything either. Well I can only assume they’re all heavy sleepers or severely hard of hearing. It was a deafening alarm tone that was unmistakably an fire alarm. When I spoke to the receptionist on duty he said the alarm was just faulty. Not exactly what you want to hear about something that could help save your life if anything were to happen. The staff just seemed dismissive

I found Prague to be like, no other, former Eastern bloc country. I would describe Prague like a city that was designed by Walt Disney for real people to live. I find it difficult to come up with the correct words to describe how beautiful is the Old Town of Prague. You can wander endlessly, letting yourself get lost, up and down the beautiful cobble streets, viewing the sites and architecture. It is really a piece of history, frozen in time, with fantastic old buildings surrounding the different squares. For me the Old Town was a place I could visit many times, you'll never get tired of admiring the views. We chose to stay on the edge of Old Town, but within close walking distance of the Old Town Hall with Astronomical Clock and the river Vltava. As much we like

A great city to travel to. We first took a bus tour and then set out to parts the tour didn't cover. We started from the hotel imperial art deco hotel which I would give a 5 star rating and went through town square searching for the Charles bridge, after numerous questions to the locals on the way and 20,000 +steps later(we were lost) we finally found it, 3 blocks from our hotel. You might say we now know the entire city firsthand.

We heard that Prague was a great place to visit because of the wonderful sights. Yes, the buildings were great but we won’t be coming back and I can’t recommend the city. We arrived by train from Vienna. We had no Czech Crowns; we visited the Western Union exchange kiosk in the train station and were ripped off. We received 1200 Crowns and subsequently found out that the normal exchange he rate should have delivered 4,500!! Prague town is beautiful but it is overrun by tourists during the daytime and by stag parties and drunken men in the evening. My wife went out to buy some food at 7pm and felt extremely uncomfortable at the male only feel of the place. Later on we were kept awake (on both of the nights we were there) by drunken louts shouting. In my view Prague has been

Around 6 months ago (winter 2018) I booked a room at this hotel & paid with the debit card in advance. When arrived, the Administration of the Hotel said that I have to prove that the payment was made by me, for that I have to show my card. Unfortunately, several months ago I changed the debit card so I couldn't show it to them. Though, I could show them my booking.com status, and my passports to prove that the booking was made by me and for me. They insisted that the card is needed, otherwise I have to pay again, but "don't worry, if the payment was made by you earlier, we will refund you these money in a week". Ok, I paid. 1 month passed, I still didn't get my money back. When I tried to clarify the picture why didn't I get the refund, they banned me at booking.com without any

Prague Old City is truly magnificent. This should be on your bucket list if visiting Europe. The number of magnificent beautiful buildings is mind blowing and historic buildings and the city’s past is laid out for all to wander past. If you love crystal- this would be your heaven as about every third shop sells it.
