Romantic and cosy hotel with unique and unforgettable view of the Prague Castle, Lesser Side and the Old Town embroidered by the Vltava river is located directly in the city center in a peaceful garden of the Strahov Monastery (national historic landmark, founded in 1142). The hotel is only a few steps from all landmarks and easily accessible by the public transportation.

Detailed Reviews
This is a really great place to stay. We travelled as a fa,ily of 4 and had the mezzanine room, it was really well equipped and comfortable and has the advantage of rooftop views over the city. The hotel itself was part of the monastery (Uber drivers were unsure of its location so a top tip is to ask them to head to the entrance to the monastery and you walk the last few metres to the hotel. The breakfast was really good, with an excellent variety of food and as the weather was kind we were able to eat outside where you can get stunning views of the architecture. The brewery next door is great for beer/food, you are very close to the tram station to get to the Old Town, but I would recommend the walk to the Palace and then down the hill to Lesser Town, getting the tram back up the hill. A final comment, the staff couldn’t have been more helpful, it was really nice to stay in a hotel that is very different to the normal.

+1
What a beautiful place ! Comfortable bed and pillows to start with. Perfect bathroom with correct water temperature and water pressure. Room has AC and heating. The upper floor rooms have a split level so the bed is upstairs. The hotel is located only 2 minutes walk from the tram, that is very convenient for getting around especially back up the hill once you have been down town. The monastery and its grounds are so nice they really did a good job converting this into a boutique hotel. We drove ourselves found it a little bit hard to find but every taxi driver probably knows it even if they are blindfolded. From the square where google maps takes you, you have to walk up the stairs between two shops. Breakfast is good and hotel staff is friendly.

Thank you for sharing your experience at the Monastery Hotel! A beautiful hotel with a very convenient location. It is located across the Strahov Library and St Norbert Brewery. Breakfast was excellent with fresh fruit, different types of bread, eggs, etc. Beds and pillows were very comfortable and the bathroom had heated floors. The room had a mini fridge.

The hotel is located at the end of one of the most lovely squares in Prague. It used to be a monastery and it has been meticulously restored, and what a wonderful place it became. Rooms breathe the atmosphere of the old days, but are modern, large and equipped with everything a weary traveler might need, including Dolce Gusto coffee maker. Spotlessly clean, great staff - everyone goes out of their way to accomodate you, and the breakfast is just great ! And one more treat : THE best view over Prague is 5 meters away from the entrance.

We booked this hotel for our wedding anniversary, through Expedia Canada 1.5 months prior stay date. We have also paid for it at the time of booking. When we arrived at the hotel and called them to allow us to park in the court yard, we were told that our reservation was cancelled apparently by us. We couldn't have done that because our reservation was through Expedia. Then, they said another tour operator that deals with Exepedia cancelled it. Funny enough, on Expedia's site our reservation showed as in progress. We called them in Canada, spent an hour on the phone and all our roaming minutes, and they had no clue what happened to our reservation.
Since, we arrived at the hotel, I managed to talk to 2 people by phone, who gave us contradicting info. Finally, it seems the hotel has no water for a month, because it is located in an old monastery building. However, when you check the hotel site they don't mention anything about it. It looks like the hotel is open.
So, we believe they are not trustful, and they tried to cheat on us! Please don't book this hotel!!!

We were lucky to get the room with the view of Prague. It was so beautiful. The room was clean and cozy. Breakfast was rich and tasty, staff was helpful and kind. We spent here two wonderful nights. We arrived in the middle of the night and nonstop service navigated us where and how to get the keys. It wasn't anything difficult. They have a box right behind the door with the code.

This was my wife and my first trip to Prague. We wanted to stay somewhere special and peaceful with a good location to sightsee from. We couldn't have agreed on a better Hotel. The staff was amazing and friendly, the breakfast buffet was excellent and many options. Beautiful location on top of the hill with a great view of the city and just a 5-7 minute walk to Prague Castle. We definitely recommend this hotel.

This hotel is on the Castle side of the river. If you walk across the Charles Bridge, you have a 15 - 20 minute uphill walk to the hotel. So if you do not like uphill walks, I might suggest something closer to your favorite landmark.
I know that there is a control panel on the wall when you come into the room but I did not take any notice due to the lovely warm weather & having the windows did help keep the room cool.
