We loved this hotel in Prague. Staff was excellent and beautiful property. Would stay here again. The location was perfect, close to many restaurants. Enjoyed the daily breakfast. We stayed here for five nights, and received excellent service.
We had a fabulous time at the MO in Prague on Friday for our 17 anniversary. It is our first time at a MO hotel and we would certainly recommend it again. Gorgeous hotel in one of Prague's most beautiful, historic and quiet areas. The grounds and the rooms are beautiful, sparkling clean and elegant. The service is top notch and you can feel that this hotel has a service culture embedded in the staff. We didn't use the spa as we had only one night and wanted to chill out a bit and go out for dinner. Pros: Beautiful Rooms. Very comfortable bed. The room felt very secluded and serene. Personally, I prefer rooms with both a bath and shower and not just a bath as taking a shower in a bath isn't that convenient. Staff service (though see cons) Breakfast was very tasty and great selection Additionally, I find the 'Fans of MO' a brilliant concept. Just sign up and choose whatever 2 benefits you want for your stay rather than the usual working up the ladder of statuses to earn benefits. Cons: - The check-in process is over the top. Too long and too formal. I get that it's a top hotel but there was no need to repeat all the details of the booking, my personal details etc. My experience in other 5 stars hotels is that handing over the keys to the guest is the priority and there is no need to verify all the details again if the guest submitted everything online and you collect a copy of their passport to very the guest ID. We felt a bit exhausted at the end of check-in and it could all take a lot less time. Also, when we checked out, a very grumpy receptionist 'demanded' that my wife's CZ driver's license which was copied during check-in wasn't considered a formal ID and that she need another form of ID. We explained that we don't have any and that during check-in, her colleague took a copy of the driving license as he also thought that is sufficient. I must say she was not nice at all and her attitude does not match the one of any other staff member we met during our stay. She eventually 'agreed' to let us show her a copy of my wife's passport she had on her phone. I know this is a 'police requirement' but there is no need to be nasty about it. And if the guest doesn't have another ID, what can we do? Get arrested at the hotel?? - Breakfast needs a lot more staff. we waited 20 minutes TWICE to get our coffee during breakfast. The staff all seem to work hard so it's not their fault. Management is clearly working them to the bone and not adding enough waiting staff. Our waitress was visibly 'falling off her feet'. Add more staff! No one should wait so long for food and drinks in the morning. It's not a great start to the day. - It is very disappointing to find that MO, as in other cities 5-star hotels do not offer much of wellness facilities for guests unless they pay extra for it. There were no common grounds offered to the guests. It is pretty common to have a pool, whirlpool, sauna and steam room at hotels, especially luxury ones. We wanted to use the whirlpool and steam room but it can only be booked privately for about 45 EUR per 30 min per facility so to use both (steam and jacuzzi) for 1 hour (well, in and out), you are looking at nearly 200 EUR. We found it quite steep for something that is available in most top hotels for free. I must admit that the private 'vitality bath' does look nicer than a public jacuzzi once it's set up with rose petals and all but again, such private service should be offered in parallel to a 'public' option for all guests.…
First class experience. The hotel & spa are very special and hugely characterful, being in an ex monastery with much of the original fabric preserved, which adds to the experience. The hotel is in a beautiful, quiet area away from the hustle and bustle but is only a short walk over the bridge to get to the action. Service was impeccable, befitting the brand. The staff couldn’t do more for me & the little things stood out. I was always being made to feel like a VIP, for example offering me a fruit bowl when I checked out and a lovely gift on my birthday. Special mention goes to Florian, the front office manager, Andrew and the concierge team. First rate and highly recommended.
our trip was amazing and the service and hospitality at the mandarin was excellent. i would go back in a heart beat and recommend it to anyone traveling to prague. the entire staff was attentive and kind!
Such a great stay! We were meant to visit in 2019, but had to postpone, and we ended up being here for my boyfriends birthday - they even made him a cake with our picture (along with our beloved dogs who were our entire world and we’d lost in the past year, 6 weeks apart) on it! So thoughtful and really just the sweetest stuff. The restaurant was also amazing! We were pretty shocked as we did not have high hopes for Japanese food in Prague, but it was really phenomenal!
The hotel was so beautiful and stunning, centrally located, very nice designs and art people were very friendly and very welcoming which you would expect from a MO experience, a very special thanks to everyone for the warm welcome and lovely site inspection across the hotel from Zuzana Thank you to everyone who make this trip very special.
It was a wonderful stay, thanks to the service of the colleagues at the hotel. Our arrival was anticipated, and so was our departure, we did not have to present ourselves! The colleagues at the Front Desk and everybody in the lobby was always greeting us with a smile and the colleagues in the banqueting facilities were always there to assist and remembered our preferences. Housekeeping did an amazing job in the room, it was always spotless. Thank you very much to everybody - we are very much looking forward to coming back!
We waited 30 minutes for a simple check in even if in front of us was one guest. Entrance, hall, bar and restaurant with very low ceiling, not luxury. Dining at the restaurant was poor in terms of service and food quality. SPA quite difficult to reach with quite cold atmosphere, massage therapists not adequate. The only positive note: the valet for the car parking service
We could not have wished for a more lovely city break in Prague! The location of the Mandarin Oriental is fantastic - a quiet and secluded setting but so easy to get to places of interest on both sides of the river. Our room was beautiful, breakfast was excellent and the spa treatments are highly recommended! All the staff were so welcoming and attentive, especially Iryina on the front desk and Tomas on concierge who were particularly helpful to us during our stay. We will definitely be back!
Mandarin Oriental is always great, but the Prague location staff are really exceptional among the various locations around the world where we have had the pleasure of staying. The spa staff were outstanding, giving us incredible massages that were among the very best that we've had at dozens of high-end spas in recent years.
