I would definitely recommend a stay . We dined at the restaurant on the premises and it was terrific.
The existing reviews on Trip Advisor seemed like Adalbert was a safe bet and a lovely place, as we had imagined.
Oh, were we wrong.
The bed linens had not been changed (hair from a previous guest was all over the pillows and sheets); the bathroom not cleaned (used soap in the shower); and the floors hadn't seen a vacuum in some time. They also did not provide toiletries (unless you requested them). I had to beg for a new roll of toilet paper when the almost exhausted roll in the room ran out.
When I complained, I was told that "we have the cleanest hotel in Prague". Not.
When I paid for the bill, I was made fun of Czech by the staff at the desk. I guess they thought that I as an American am monolingual. Wrong -- Czech was my first language, and I understood EVERYTHING they said about me. And trust me, I cannot tell you what they said on a family-oriented website.
Oh, and did I mention that a room there runs about $180 a night?
Do yourself a favor, and don't stay at the Adalbert.
First of all, let's start with location - in a quite neighborhood, right next to a beautiful cathedral and gorgeous park. Hotel has its own private parking (for free). Tram station is around 2-3 min walk away. It will take you around 7-10 minutes to reach Prague Castle (Czech: Pražský hrad) which is, honestly, my favorite part of the city :) It will take you a little more time to reach Old Town. Trams are nice and comfortable, so it's a pleasure to be riding around in them.
The hotel itself is quite small, but very nice and pretty. I loved the stairs and huge mirrors in front of them.
Room and bathroom are nice, clean and big enough.
We loved breakfast! I was surprised and happy to find a great selection of tea (and not packet one!). Everything is fresh and tasty.
Be sure to book a table at their restaurant (Monastery Tavern) - great food and one of the best beer we tried in Czech Republic! But it is important to book a table in advance as the restaurant is packed every evening.
All in all, we had an amazing stay and would definitely come back!
We found the hotel to be ideal for us with the very nice bonus of a good pub and bar within the grounds.
Highly recommended
