We had a lovely stay, of 6 nights, in this family run hotel located just 5 minutes walking from the Old Square, in a quiet street. The decoration throughout the hotel is in line with the style of this hotel. I really liked it! The staff was lovely (especially Eva who taught us some czech vocabulary - Dekuji!) and was... More

For those on a budget consider Hotel Hastal. Although our room was a bit cramped, it was well furnished and had a modern bath. Hotel staff were very helpful and there were some extra touches which made the stay more enjoyable. The location is great: within short walking distance to old town sites and the Jewish quarter and in a... More

Very enjoyable place to stay, in great location near the old town square. Easy to walk to anywhere and good restaurants nearby. Comfortable hotel with helpful staff. The only negative was that the air conditioning could not be controlled from each room.

The hotel has a classic charm to it. It is incredibly close to the old square. The best part about the stay was the service. The front desk staff and the management is very congenial at all times. I had questions about getting around the town and the staff was very helpful. Breakfast in the morning is one of the... More

My husband and I have just returned from a four-day visit to Prague and stayed in Hotel Hastal which had been recommended by a work colleague who had stayed there last year. It is a delightful small hotel, impeccably run and very accessible for all parts of Central Prague. The reception is always manned and the staff extremely helpful, giving... More

Fantastic hotel in quiet square in old town, we had the best room with balcony overlooking the square. Staff were excellent, always happy to assist and offer suggestions of what to do and where to eat. Some fab restaurants nearby. Free wine to be enjoyed in the internal court yard was a real bonus and great place to meet other... More

The location of the hotel is superb at only 4 blocks from the main square. The hotel is owned by a family which has run the business for 5 generations. The decoration and architecture style is typically checz which is what we wanted. It makes no sense going to Praga to stay in a modern chain hotel, in my opinion.... More

Charming old world hotel, small comfortable room. There were 3 of us with a king bed and extra cot which made for a tight space but we didn't feel cramped. The bathroom looked newly remodeled. We had wine in the lobby available any time along with coffe or tea, along with a bottle of wine in our room upon arrival.... More

This was booked for us as a short break after our walking holiday in Bohemia. It fitted the bill perfectly: wonderful beds, good bathrooms with toiletries, charming decor, friendly staff, a good choice of breakfast, wifi (in the room) and complimentary hot drinks in the foyer. When they knew it was my birthday, they even left a bouquet of flowers... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
