Staré Město (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.

The shower in our room was very small, need to ask reception to turn on/off air condition, a sign in the bathroom states that there is bath robes to use but there was none in my room. The bar next door is not part of the hastal, as i got told from the barman. no proper beer in there and dont want to know you if your not eating there. The guy on reception at night is well asleep. the double bed in the room had 2 single quilts on it instead of a double quilt. And when the safe would not open they sent the cleaner up to open the safe with a number, and that was not my idea of having a secure storage place. The decor is rather dated like something from 40`s/50`s and the music heard all through the hotel is sooooo depressing. Advice to anyone looking at this hotel is to book else where, there is so much better hotels in the old town. You would even get a warm welcome.

The owner of this historical hotel greets people as they check in. The staff is terrific, the hotel is clean and intimate, and it's located in the beautiful Old Town of Prague. Easy walking distance to lots of attractions and restaurants. I loved our visit there and will always reserve a room there when I return!

We choosed the hotel because he is very close to the center of Prague and we didn't regret it. It an old hotel kept very good , and very clean. The service desk is ready to serve all your wishes with goodwill especially Josef .We complained about the mattress in our room. It took them two days but they replaced them. The breakfast is OK they don't refill the empty trays so come early. The same with the free cookies and drinks which are free.

I cant give zero stars. Greeted with a ramp to gain access to hotel, due to outside works. NOTHING mentioned when booked, can see has been there a while. Ensuite NOT cleaned for 4 days, hairs on floor in 3 spots,as with tissue, door has to be forced closed. Rooms without views & TV did not work, a bar without beer. So if you just fancy a beer (as some of us do), you are forced to go out. Breakfast mainly for continentals, English side is POOR. No bacon, boiled eggs are stone cold, had to ask for a dish for cereals where, the staff really was not impressed & pulled her face whilst shrugging her shoulders. At this point we simply left & found a McDonalds, Got a Mcmuffin breakfast here (much better). Going out one evening, just outside was the male owner of the hotel. Here he was chatting to a taxi driver, as my wife started to cross the ramp, she stumbled. The owner saw this and turned back to the taxi driver, Not even to see if she was ok. The piped music give the impression of WWII,as with the decor,it sounded & looked very German movie type (not to my liking)

We just came back from a trip to Prague, we stayed at Hotel Hastal based on TripAdvisor reviews. We loved the location, also it's interesting to stay at a hotel with so much history and character. We chose a deluxe twin room. The size is decent. Rooms and bathrooms are very clean. I only had a problem lacking comfort in the bathroom. We had a "shower cabin" with no shelf to put our stuff (like our own shampoo/conditioner). I would also appreciate having a tissue dispenser in the bathroom. Besides that, everything was fine. The buffet breakfast is good. The staff is very helpful and polite. I recommend this hotel if you go to Prague.
