Akcent hotel is a modern 3-star budget hotel with a friendly atmosphere located on the 7th floor of a 1930s Functionalist-style office building and can boast splendid views of Prague from all 53 rooms. The hotel is situated in the heart of Smichov quarter, just a 3 minute walk from one of Prague's major commercial and entertainment zones, where two big shopping malls Novy Smichov and Zlaty Andel are to be found. Guests highly value the hotel's location also for easy and quick connections to the centre of Prague. With an entrance to the Andel subway station right outside hotel front door, and several tram line stops nearby, the entire historical centre of the "City of Hundred Spires" is just 5 minutes away, while picturesque Lesser Town, park Kampa and Petrin Hill is only a 20 minute walk. Not far is also river Vltava and Vysehrad Castle. Hotel's location is also very convenient for tourists coming for Prague Beer Tour as Staropramen brewery is in surroundings.

Everything was perfect. I highly recommend this hotel. Metro is very close, bus stop from/to airport is next to the hotel. Supermarket is next to the hotel too. Shoping center, restaurants and shops are nearby. Breakfast was delicious and you can chouse what you want. Cleaning service operates every day. Moderate prices.

Stayed in Akcent hotel for 3 nights in Aug05. Got no 100 bus from airport to Zlicin metro station then metro to Andel, hotel is only a few steps away from metro exit (be sure to follow exit signs for bus station, not shopping centre). Room was clean, had tv, hairdryer & towels changed daily. Went to hotel restaurant, food was delicious & very cheap. We mostly used the metro to get about since it was soooo close to hotel, 3 stops took us into the new square. The tram line, which we used for getting to the castle & petrin hill, is just down the road outside a major shopping centre (lots of restaurants on 3rd floor). There is also a brewery on the other side of the bus station just across the road & there is a bar/snooker hall attached to hotel. Altho hotel is a good bit out of town, with the metro being on your doorstep it's so handy & it suited us fine to sight see thru the day, pop into town for some dinner or shopping then head back for a few drinks & didnt have far to stagger home! Would definitely go back :o)

I stayed here for 5 days at the end of July/beginning of August. I booked the trip via Expedia, but beware! Do not book through them as when I arrived there, Expedia had not confirmed my booking with Akcent and so they didn't have any details I was due to stay there. Fortunately, they managed to accommodate us anyway, but this was down to luck and the kindness of the hotel more than anything.
The hotel is in a fantastic location, right next to the metro and down the road from a shopping centre and trams. The metro is only 3 stops from the centre of Prague and you just need to take bus no 100 from the airport to Zilcin metro, then this takes you direct to Andel. Here, you just follow the exit signs for the bus station and the hotel is right there!
The shopping centre is conveniently located with a large Tesco's and other retailers, along with a food court that has McDonalds and KFC. Very reasonably priced. A little tip with food...there are various restaurants around this area that is a lot cheaper than around Mustek. We went for a meal at TGI Friday's which is down the road from Akcent and it was great value and service!
The room itself is spacious and airy, but the pillows were flat but were OK once folded in half or you can ask for another pillow. Like someone else also mentioned, the lifts were very slow and there was only 1 lift, but this was not a big deal. The air con was great, but there are 5 rooms which do not have air con so double check this first. The lady on reception was very helpful and her English was great! The hotel also allows you to leave your luggage there before and after check in and check out. If you bring electrical products, they have travel plugs in reception for you to use.
I found some people I encountered a bit rude, but this was not very often. Most people did not speak English or if they did, it was broken English so communication was quite difficult sometimes. The transport system was great and so cheap, only £6 for a ticket to use on all transport for 7 days! You can buy this at the airport when you arrive. There is plenty to eat and see in Prague and everything is cheap compared to England, but clothes shopping is about the same price if not more expensive than here.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel and if I returned to Prague, I would definitely stay here again!

I dont give a five start rating, easily, but this place deserves it.
Just to quantify the rating, This is not a five star hotel, so i did not receive or excpect a five star service. This hotel is a budget three star hotel so my rating is based on what i would excpect a budget hotel to provide.
This hotel could easily warrant a four star rating. It probably will in future and prices will go up!.
The hotel is about a 25 minute walk from wencelas square (hence its cheaper than hotels in wencelas square).
It is in a quiet location though and is not doubt quieter at night that at wencelas square ( i slept very well on each of my three nights there).
The breakfast is good, cold meats, yogurt, ceral, drinks, scrambled agg bread and sausage.
You can buy a full english for about £3.50 but, i didn't bother.
The hotel restaurant at night is allways dead, but i am not clear why as the food is great. Good value and teh chef obviously takes pride in the food, it is presented well and tastes great ( takes a while to be ready though, about a half hour wait).
The tube is right outside the hotel and it takes about 5 minutes to get to all attracttions for a only a few pence. You can get a taxi, but they will charge you about £10.00 (400 Kronas) for the five minute ride to town. The tube is much like the London underground but, much more modern and clean.
Read another review about a generator at the hotel making noise in teh morning, i never heard (or saw)it!
TV has only news, MTV and Eurosport. ( like many places abroad) - Take a DVD player - they are light, cheap and plug straight into the TV scart lead.
Overall a great hotel for the price, apparantly easy jet sell it for about £17.00 each per night( i paid a bit more than that through a travel agent)

We stayed at the Akcent Hotel over New Year. It is a good quality 3 star hotel. The rooms are large, clean and tidy. The bathroom is also quite large. As the hotel only opened in 2005 the rooms are still in a good condition. They are 'travel-lodge' style. As another member already mentioned we also had to ask for an extra pillow, they are a little flat.
The breakfast was perhaps a bit of a disappointment lacking in choice but it was included in the price. You can pay extra for a full english breakfast etc.
The metro is the easiest form of transport to use as one of the entrances to the station (Andel) is right outside the hotel. It cost £5 for a 3 day ticket to use on the tram, metro and bus. It takes about 5-10 minutes to get to the centre of Prague on the metro.
The one draw back was our room overlooked the bus station which is at the front of the hotel so we did get woken up quite early! Being 7 floors up we had a good view of Prague.
There are plenty of bars and restaurants near by if you don't want to go into Prague.
Overall a good hotel with large rooms. Would recommend to other travellers looking for this style of accommodation in Prague.

The Akcent Hotel is located quite a distance from Prague city centre but it is very convenient to get into the major sights of Prague from here as the metro station is situated just in front of the hotel. It is also located within walking distance to a large shopping complex. My husband and I were impressed with the room. It was large, bright and clean. However, this hotel does not provide room service. So when we needed a jug of hot water, we had to get it ourselves from the hotel restaurent which is at the ground floor (the rooms are on the 7th floor).I found the pillows to be really soft. My husband and I had to fold the pillow in halves when we slept! The breakfast buffet was reasonably good which included a nice selection of cheeses, breads, cereals, scrambled eggs, sausages, coffee and juices. Overall, we had a nice stay in Prague and we would definitely recommend the Akcent Hotel.

What had all the makings to be an OK hotel - one of which being the good reviews posted so far - ended up being something to avoid.
First the pluses - location is OK (although certainly not the styliest part of Prague), with little traffic noise, and the rooms and bathrooms are large, clean and modern. Service was also OK.
Now all the problems we had:
1) After 8am the power generator starts working - the noise is unbearable and the room actually shakes
2) Breakfast buffet is just appaling
3) the hotel seems to attract a noisy, young crowd
4) The worst Kafkian experience of all was a very frightening fire alarm sounding at 3:30am (due to some students smoking in their room). There was little information anywhere for a long time other than "there is a very serious technical problem" loud message being played over and over again. No information was provided by reception, fire escapes were all CLOSED! - and we ended up for quite a few minutes having the whole hotel occupancy out in their pijamas wondering what to do, nowhere to go and noone to help...
Overall, a very bad experience in what could otherwise be an OK hotel (but never a good hotel, frankly do not understand where the good reviews come from!)

Hotel Akcent has a great location to explore Prague. Stayed there for 6 nights. It was very easy to get there from the airport by public transport. After purchasing tickets, exit to the street, make a right to platform B and get into bus #100. Don’t forget to validate tickets. Bus will take you to Zlicin metro station, line B. Once there board metro and get off at Andel station. Go towards the bus station exit, then look for the Akcent hotel sign. Up the stairs, you are right on the entrance. Girls at reception are very friendly and speak English. Rooms are on the 7th floor of building. My room was small but comfortable for me and wife. Pillows are very soft, but folding them will do the trick. Bathroom is excellent too with hair dryer and towel warmer. No wash cloths are available, bring your own. Mini bar and safe are also in room. Don’t miss the breakfast buffet at restaurant downstairs which is excellent and included in the price.
Hotel is two blocks from Novy Smichov shopping mall and close to various restaurants. Inside mall there are many choices to eat too. To reach the city center you can hop on tram#9 in front of shopping mall or just get the metro in front of hotel. Either way is fast. Almost everyday we got to hotel at night, and felt very safe walking the surrounding areas or coming from mall. On our last night, we ate at Restaurant Andelka. Is very easy to get there. Just exit the hotel, make a left and then another quick left around hotel. Just one block away in the corner is this excellent restaurant, with superb food and beer, friendly servers and nice prices. Enjoy your stay!

I have just come back from the Akcent Hotel. I was there for 2 nights. It was perfect, the single room was small but very clean and adequate and very cosy. The double rooms were very clean and a lot larger than the single rooms.
The hotel is 4 steps away from the Metro and less than five minutes walk away from the trams. The restaurant was clean and the food above average. Breakfasts were also excellent.
We jumped in a taxi from the airport and asked the taxi driver to come back 3 days later and take us back to the airport, which he did and was even 10 minutes early.
The three days we were away were stress free, easy to find different things, quite a lot of walking but lots of stops on the way with good cheap food and drink.
This hotel is highly recommended by me.

Just returned late yesterday from a five night stay at the Akcent. We were greated at check-in by perfect English and a quick check-in. The staff was Very helpful. We were fortunate enough the get a corner room (#743) that was very large and provided a view into Old Town as well as toward the Mala Strana area. The rooms are basic but very clean. The breakfast is not elaborate but had eggs, bacon, sausages or meatballs each morning. Plenty of breads, cheeses, yogurt and cereal as well.
Perhaps the best things is the location. The Metro is at the base of the hotel and you are into the tourist area of Prague in three stops.
There are also good tram connections a block away. There are also many eating/drinking options in this area- all at great prices. The best for me was to exit the hotel and the Staropramen Brewery is in site (a block way). Great place to have a drink and eat czech food.
About a block away is also a huge mall with anything you may need.

Im sory i read your question so late :-( I really hope you enjoyed your xmas stay in Prague, before xmas is Prague one of the most beautifull cities. And Im sure you had no problém with our courency as Prague is European and inernational city so no problém topay with any credit cards use ATm of one of thousends Exchange offices.-)
Sorry it's late but yes
No it doesn't have a spa.
It is pretty easy to reach the hotel from the airport. In the airport, on a left side of the exit, you will see a ticket machine. I suggest you to buy a day ticket. It is only4.5 euros and it is for 24 hours for any transport in Prague including - from airport to the city.
Just in front of the exit of Ruzyne airport You should take bus number 100 (please validate your ticket in a bus. Since that moment you will have 24 hours to ride any transport and no additional validation needed.Just keep the ticket ), you go off at the last stop, which will be near the entrance to "Zlicin" metro station. (That is Yellow line). You go off at station "Andel".
Now, here are two exits from station "Andel", You need the one which is near "Na Knížecí" (just look up the signs and you will understand which way to go out), once u got up the escalator, you should take the steps up from the right side and you will find yourself right near the entrance to Akcent hotel.
