We stayed at Miss Sophie's in early September 2011. We had a three person private room with ensuite facilties. My first impression was that the room was about equal to a very nice hotel room in New York City - small but comfortable. The room...More
The rooms are basic and more on the small side, but it was perfect for what we needed as we were not planning to stay indoors all day but to go out and explore this enchanting city.
Everything is tastefully decorated yet very simple.
Great location; spacious and clean dorm room; breakfast is great and good value for budget travelers. In consideration of all the factors and the price, it's the best hostel I have stayed so far! The only one minus point of the room is there are...More
Miss Sophie's is a great boutique hostel that puts some hotels to shame. This hostel is in a great location about 10 min walk from the Astronomical Clock and the river. Along with being bright, fresh and clean the hostel offers many luxuries that the...More
Few things: wonderful staff (big up, guys), huge issues with the air conditioning. The first night I had to wrestle with the evil robot for several hours. With the fan it gets cold after a few hours and without it - it's impossibly hot. For...More

Nearly 700 hundred meters long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town
or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theaters. National Theater near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.

They have a hotel which we stayed in, and their hostel is right across the street. Our hotel room was beautiful with a double bed, and a large bathroom just for us. I imagine that the hostel across the street has shared bathrooms and bedrooms, and breakfast for both the hostel and hotel are across the street in the hostel. Just make sure that you are booking at Miss Sophie's Hotel rather than Miss Sophie's Hostel and you should be good to go :)

We took a cab from the airport because of luggage, late arrival, not sure where we were, etc. BUT be sure it is a cab and not the private car service that will charge you an addl 30 more but claim they are taxi. After you arrive it is very easy to get to and from via the tram/metro (you can buy tickets at the hotel).
