After our all day train trip from Budapest it was great to be welcomed by two helpful young men on Reception. One checked us in while the other showed us to our room number 409 on the top floor looking out to the river and Charles Bridge. And what a wonderful view it was, to be able to watch the... More

My travel companion and I were supposed to travel to Europe in July and stay at the Pactuv Palace for four nights, arriving on July 27th. However, due to a sudden illness, we had to cancel our trip to Europe altogether. The Pactuv Palace was notified of the cancellation more than a week before our scheduled arrival, which allowed the... More

Location is fantastic. 1 minute from the Charles Bridge; 5 or 6 minutes walk from Old Town square. Staff are very friendly, although some language barriers exist. Staff at the front desk were very helpful in making restaurant bookings. Cleaning service was excellent. Air conditioning was great - critical on the hot and humid days. Downsides were the cafe: food... More

First of all, the reception staff is wonderful! My husband has a medical condition and the original room they reserved for us did not work so they tried very hard to find a room that would accommodate his needs and we really appreciated their efforts. They were also very helpful with restaurant recommendations and reservations, arranging taxis and booking a... More

Spent three nights here in June 2016. It was our first trip to Prague and we were really happy to have chosen the Pachtuv Palace. Our suite was extraordinary, having two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a large living room. The view from the third floor was perfect, overlooking the river and the Prague castle. The suite seemed to have been... More

We two couples booked a suite and a deluxe double. The hotel had decided who was having which room but we had already decided between ourselves who was having which room. We told the hotel, our choice was different from theirs and they said they would resolve the situation but they took the first couple off to a suite and... More

I am giving it a two (instead of a one) because it is a beautiful, well-located property. I'm a travel agent who booked some good clients in the Baroque Suite of Pactuv Palace as part of a longer luxury trip to celebrate their anniversary. In following up with the couple on their return, Pactuv Palace was the only place where... More

We stayed here for 5 days during our recent trip in July 2016. It was outstanding from every aspect from our lavishly appointed room with views of the castle, attentive staff and delicious meals and wine. It is also in the centre of town on the river so you can walk everywhere. Everything was organised seamlessly right down to the... More

We got the two bedroom suite. It had a large living room with bedrooms and bathrooms on either side. I felt like a rock star in this apartment sized room. State of the art big screen TVs in the rooms. The mini bar area was exceptional and covered part of a wall with its utilities and goodies. It was $450/night... More

Had an enjoyable stay at Pachtuv Palace but there was a couple hiccups during our stay. Supposedly had a great view of castle and river but there was a huge tree in the way blocking our view. Their response was " the picture we saw online was taken in the wintertime". Avoid Room 402 unless the view is not a... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
