We stayed in a very comfortable and well-appointed, two bedroom suite. The room was great and the property location at the foot of the Charles bridge on the old town side is fantastic. We found the concierge service to be lacking. When we asked for a recommendation and introduction to a private tour guide, we were simply given a standard... More

We stayed in Prague for 4 days at this hotel. Initially we had a river view suite, but they upgraded it to a castle view after we checked in. I am not sure why, it could be because they realized they were short staffed and made us wait to check in, or maybe they just did it to be nice.... More

This hotel was stunning. Excellent central location for all sights and restaurants. Breakfast very good, staff fantastic, knowledgable and friendly.Wonderful courtyards to sit and have coffee outside your room. We stayed in suite 102 with the painted ceilings which we had requested in advance and booked for a special celebration making our 3 day stay memorable. Would most definitely recommend... More

First, we did not stay in the Royal suite; we stayed in the attic above it. Still, it was a very spacious and airy suite, although there were many low beams ready for inattentive heads. We quickly learned not to walk around while attending to our smart phones. It was situated between two inner courtyards, and so well insulated from... More

The last time I visited Prague was in the days of the communists in the mid 80's. I was told to expect massive changes. And that was correct. Still the beautiful old city but without the food queues, the requests to buy the clothes you were wearing, or swap local currency for hard currency. The shop windows that had been... More

After our all day train trip from Budapest it was great to be welcomed by two helpful young men on Reception. One checked us in while the other showed us to our room number 409 on the top floor looking out to the river and Charles Bridge. And what a wonderful view it was, to be able to watch the... More

My travel companion and I were supposed to travel to Europe in July and stay at the Pactuv Palace for four nights, arriving on July 27th. However, due to a sudden illness, we had to cancel our trip to Europe altogether. The Pactuv Palace was notified of the cancellation more than a week before our scheduled arrival, which allowed the... More

Dear JAK922, I am sorry that you had to cancel your trip to Prague and our hotel due to unforeseeable circumstances. It is for that reason that we offer different types of rates that offer different cancellation policies. The rate you booked was offered at a discount for full-prepayment & non-refundable. It is clearly stated in both in the name... More

Location is fantastic. 1 minute from the Charles Bridge; 5 or 6 minutes walk from Old Town square. Staff are very friendly, although some language barriers exist. Staff at the front desk were very helpful in making restaurant bookings. Cleaning service was excellent. Air conditioning was great - critical on the hot and humid days. Downsides were the cafe: food... More

First of all, the reception staff is wonderful! My husband has a medical condition and the original room they reserved for us did not work so they tried very hard to find a room that would accommodate his needs and we really appreciated their efforts. They were also very helpful with restaurant recommendations and reservations, arranging taxis and booking a... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
