Detailed Reviews
The hotel is located steps from the Old Town Square and the Astronomical Clock. The location is pretty perfect. We took an Uber from the airport and we were dropped off on the street behind the hotel and had no problems finding the “lobby”. The reception is located in the coffee shop which is a tight squeeze with luggage and patrons of the coffee shop. We weren’t immediately acknowledged by any reception personnel and felt that the check-in process could be more efficient (possibly located somewhere else?). Our room was large with high ceilings and minimal furniture. The floor was not clean upon arrival but we notified the staff and it was cleaned right away. There was no shower in our room. I’m not sure if this is hotel wide and I’m unsure if the original listing mentioned this. It was initially shocking but we were able to adapt. I gave this hotel 4 stars because I do appreciate how old it is and its supreme location, but feel the rooms need more attention to detail and the check-in process could be better.

Would definitely stay here again. The location is wonderful, very short walk to main square. This hotel has a incredible breakfast with homemade granola and pastries. There is a nice cafe downstairs were we had tea and dessert while looking out the window people watching.

This was our second time staying here. It’s a fabulous traditional accommodation with the best location you could find! Staff are very friendly & the rooms are very large & spotlessly clean.
The only thing I would like is a kettle in the room but they have a cafe downstairs so it’s not an issue to get cups to take to the room.
Highly recommend & will stay again if in Prague.

In these days very good deal! Great location and extraordinary service. 40 € for double bad room including breakfast. No limited coffee (cappuco or espresso). Afternoon coffee and home made cake less then 2€. 5 minutes to Old Town Square.

The location of this hotel could not be better, 1 minute from the old town square, yet a quiet location, very spacious rooms with minibar & tv and lovely antique furniture. Very old, beautiful and traditional style of building, with modern bathrooms and very clean rooms. The staff are pleasant and the hotel has a small breakfast room/coffee shop. Breakfast was a good continental selection and plenty of it. If you would like to stay in a simple but lovely place in the centre of prague then this hotel is an absolute must, ideal for a romantic break however I should note that there is no lift.

We stayed for 4 nights in October. The bedroom and bathroom were both large and spotless. Central location minutes from Old Square so some noise during first night ( Manchester United were in town) but reasonably quiet after that.
Excellent buffet breakfast with friendly service. General service crisp and correct efficiency rather than warm.
£60 a night for 2 and worth it.

We stayed at the Golden Stag for three nights in March 2005 and what a wonderful place to stay. Very warm and comfortable room - and spotlessly clean. The breakfast room was a delight to be in. Plenty of choice and excellent service. In fact perhaps the best continental breakfast we have come across. The location of the hotel was perfect. In fact the taxi driver said we couldn't have picked anything better in view of the reasonable price we paid.

We Travelled by coach as part of euro trip couldn't tell the distance from airport to hotel however hotel rates are included below. I prefer to book a taxi myself which could be cheaper. Usually Trams are the best and quickest mode of transport in Prague you can purchase a timed ticket which is pretty cheap (usually 20CZK for 30 minutes and so on) and travel unlimited within that time , we preferred walking to get the best of the Prague architecture and culture, breakfast usually costs €6 euro per person in the hotel. A 3 course meal in a traditional restaurant in central Prague for 2 people costs around 800-1000 CZK I'm including the prices we were given by hotel for transport but just as a reference these prices could have changed . Please check with hotel.
From the airport:
▪ 600,-CZK ( 24,-EUR ) for 1-2 people
▪ 650,-CZK ( 26,-EUR ) for 3-4 people
▪ 950,-CZK ( 40,-EUR ) for 5-8 people
From the railway station or bus station:
▪ 450,-CZK ( 18,-EUR ) for 1-2 people
▪ 480,-CZK ( 19,-EUR ) for 3-4 people
▪ 700,-CZK ( 28,-EUR ) for 5-8 people
