We paid 22 Euro to be picked up at the airport. Milan was waiting for us when we arrived and told and gave us useful information on the half an hour drive to the hotel. The hotel was warm and welcoming as we're the reception staff who did all they could to please. Our room on the third floor was...

My girlfriend and I recently had a wonderful stay in Domus Balthasar; unfortunately we were only there for 2 nights! The staff were excellent, really pleasant and positive. We stayed in room 6 on the 3rd floor (note there's no escalator) - it's really spacious and has a beautiful ceiling where the rafters are revealed.

We had the sweet suite in the roof with a wonderful view at Charles' Bridge Tower and the Castle. The room is clean and nicely equipped. Hotel staff is very friendly and breakfast in the Bagel shop is delicious. The best is that when stepping out the door you're in the center of all important Prague tourist spots.

Conveniently located right in the centre of the tourist action in Malá Strana, Domus occupies a beautiful old building with updated interiors and amenities. Karlův most is a mere 50 metres away, and the Malostranská metro station is about a 15-minute walk. Despite all the frantic pedestrian activity during the day and evenings, the intimate inn is surprisingly quiet late...

From our arrival and meeting Milan until our departure I can only say wonderful things about Domus Balthasar. A beautiful room (3) with such a comortable bed and so much space it made for a perfect 3 night stay. The location is also perfect with being so close to the Charles Bridge and just a couple of minutes further to...

The hotel is in one of the most beautiful and useful location in Prague. A Wonderful historic building just at the end of one of the most beautiful bridge in the world. If you wish to stay in Mala Strana next to Charles Bridge and you are not scared by the amount of tourists as you enter your hotel, this is a charming place. Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighborhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighborhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighborhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Design hotel Domus Balthasar is a baroque building with medieval foundation and 21st century design, situated on the Royal Route, in the heart of the oldest and most romantic part of Prague - Lesser Quarter (Mala Strana), few steps from Charles Bridge, close to Old Town and Prague Castle. Domus Balthasar is nearly of all most popular sights within easy reach on foot or by tram. Although is situated in the centre, also in a neighborbood of nicest parks. Business centers easily accessible. It is the ideal place for a holiday as well as for an enjoyable business trip. The building's history goes back to the 14th century, though the fittings are either modern or timeless. We do our best to respect history while at the same time respecting the current needs and tastes of our guests. Our interiors are made warm by wooden, atypical furniture with clean lines in dark colours which combines well with the light, creamy tones of the carpets, curtains and other decorations. Hotel has 8 rooms including 2 Double attic rooms, 3 generously spacious deluxe double rooms, 2 Suites with kitchenette and 1 Royal. Please notice our historic house uniquely located within an UNESCO listed World Heritage Site does not have an elevator. Due to a lower ceiling Attic double rooms are not recommended for people taller than 1,80 m/6 feet. ... more   less
