Ok, as European squares go, this one is pretty darn attractive. We first saw it at night in the dark with the spires and buildings lit up. The Tyn twin towers with their up lighting and illuminated windows should make you say "Wow!" Add to this other churches, people everywhere, buskers, 400 year-old astronomical clocks, and beautiful Prague buildings and... More

With large crowds visiting the square it is worth an early rise to visit the square then across the bridge and walk through the castle. The clock figures don't appear until 9am so don't bother waiting to see this before that time. The light is also good at this time for some epic photos.

First of all, this is the only hotel overlooking Old Town Square in Prague! If you are in one of the suites overlooking the square, you will have stunning views of the Tyn church and of the astronomical clock. There is only one room with a balcony that books quickly, but if you still had one of the suites with... More

This is an excellent hotel with beautiful, modern rooms located right on the old town square. Having said that, remember, you're right on the old town square...it can be a bit noisy. We didn't mind and I sleep with earplugs anyway so it was an ideal location for us. You wake up and walk out the door to the center... More

Well restorated with many beautiful buildings, this square is one of the highlights of a visit to Prague. The old astrological clock from 1410 is amazing and a technical masterpiece. There are many places to eat, drink or have some snack, or just to make pictures.

We just visited Prague and yes, it is beautiful. But what I found ugly was the proliferation of Chinese massage parlors across from the Astronomical clock in the heart of Old Town. I found that to be of bad taste. The city should be more careful and regulate the type of business that can operate in such a beautiful and... More

Europe does this so well. The old town square with grand buildings, churches and street cafe restaurants. Not horrendously expensive to have a coffee, beer and/or bite to eat. Maybe switch your meal time habits for the day to get a nice sunny table, but otherwise sit back stretch out and watch the world go by. Beautiful typical old European... More

Stayed 3 nights in this hotel . Easily the biggest family hotel room I have ever seen !! Newly renovated bathroom - great water pressure and hot water . AC provided and windows opening into the square. Great for people watching and listening to the live jazz that always seems to be playing in the square. Highly recommended

Stayed 3 nights. You are right on the town square and you can access all parts of the city easily. Our room was huge and overlooked the square. It was very comfortable and had AC. They supply breakfast but due to a lack of room they deliver to your room or to a small courtyard inside the hotel which is... More

This place is amazing! People playing pianos, violins, standstill figures. A place where you can heard so many languages at the same time while taking a look at the astronomical clock!!! Definitely this is place not to be missed while in Prague.

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
