My boyfriend and I returned from Prague at the weekend, this hotel was beautiful and full of character. It is in a perfect location in the old town. Our suite was lovely, over two floors. The staff were very helpful and friendly with excellent English. I also must say that having read previous reviews I was slightly apprehensive about the... More

We stayed here for 3 nights in Feb. We had booked a Royal Studio through Venere(--) and had a fab suite with lovely bathroom (jacuzzi bath), kitchen/dining area, and upstairs bedroom. The staff were very helpful and friendly. And of course it's in a great location.

My husband and I have just returned from a magical 4-day stay in Prague at the Iron Gates Hotel. Everything about the hotel was wonderful! The suite was beautiful and very well maintained. The service was friendly and helpful. The location was superb - nearby to the Old Town Square, but on a nice, quiet cobbled street. I would definitely... More

Iron Gates has a wonderful location in the nicest part of Prague. Just around the corner,on a very peaceful street from the old Town Square, where there are nice cafes to relax and watch the time go by from the astronomical clock. prague is very free from traffic and compact. The Bridge, Castle and Jewish quarter a must.Wenceles square is tacky and... The Iron Gates Hotel is situated on the "Royal Route", around a minute from the Old Town Square and no more than ten minutes from Charles Bridge. We were delivered to the door by Cedaz - the airport minibus service - at a cost of 480 Crowns (£12) which is much less than a taxi but just as convenient. The... More

I booked the Irongate Hotel's "Culture Package" for my parents who wanted to see Prague before returning to Canada in January. I was unable to accompany them on their 4-day visit and based my choice on Trip Advisor reviews and the hotel's own website. Even though my parents are well travelled, I was quite nervous about sending them - 78... More

We stayed here for 3 nights for our first anniversary. It is in an ideal location but thats its main attraction. We travelled using air miles which made us 2nd class citizens as far as the staff were concerned. We were given inferior service to other "paying" guests. Main complaints: We were unable to exchange money in the hotel as... More

Before a recent trip to Prague we had spent a lot of time researching Hotels in order to get the perfect Hotel. The Iron Gate looks lovely. It is a beautiful Hotel and the suites are perfect. However, if you want friendly staff don't go. We are both young and found that the staff felt they could behave anyway they... More

Not having been to Prague before and thus not knowing the hotels there, it was with trepidation we booked and stayed at the Iron Gate Suites (rather than relying on a trustworthy brand such as Four Seasons in Prage). Our worries were unfounded as the hotel was really very good indeed! Prior to our trip, we asked the hotel to... More

We spent three days at the Irongate 8-11th January. The hotel is right in the centre of all the sights of Prague, literally feet away from the old town square. The hotel is stylishly renovated so the rooms are luxurious but with no loss of character. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and the airport transfer service a real bonus.... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
