We spent two nights at the hotel. The first impression was not so good — the reception with old, big keys hanging from the desk. The smell in the lobby was not promising. But we got a newly renovated room, with a newly renovated modern bathroom on the 3rd floor! The room was spacious, with two big windows. It was cosy and warm in the room. The room and the bathroom were spotless. The dining area in the basement should be a little bigger, but it did not diminish the fact the breakfast was delicious. We would recommend this hotel.

i was not actually staying at this hotel but the one next door. On 28th December i opted to get a taxi to near my hotel and wait as reception is not 24/7. The taxi driver asked for money 300krona and he did not have change so asked me to ask the hotel. i went in with the taxi driver and they started to converse with each other. The person on reception this morning around 7am was not helpful. I finally asked what was happening as i dont understand and to ensure i had money to pay but if he had no change where could i get this from. The person on recpetion did not help me and just depmanded if i did not have kronas then to pay in euros to which i explained i do not have and only have GBP. when i was told the conversion i said that £12.00 was to expensive and he just demanded i paid. After the taxi driver left i was then rushed out of the hotel when i was trying to zip up my back and the reception person told me to go back to England. i said that was not right and he said well thats where you are from. having been told such great things about Prague my first 45minutes in the city was not great. I was wanting to ask the hotel to let me stay until 8am so that i coul wait to drop my bag off but then had to walk to another hotel.

Stayed here at the begining of yeah year and could not have been better choice. We had a triple room and it was spacious, comfy and clean. The bathroom was nice and spacious room. The shower was one of the best i have encountered in a hotel. Breakfast had a good selection. The staff were very friendly and happy to help. The hotel is within easy walking distance fron the touristic areas otherwise you can get the 22 tram and it will take you there. Really enjoyed our stay and recommend you stay here.

We stayed last minute in room 26 for one night. The room was spacious enough, modern and very clean. Same goes for the bathroom. Very comfy bed. Great WiFi. Netflix on the tv was an awesome little extra. Very friendly reception and the breakfast was good.

We stayed in this hotel for three nights. It has good access to public transport (5 min walk to tram or metro station) and there are some bars and restaurants nearby. The room was small and tidy. The bathroom included towels, shower gel and shampoo as well as a hairdryer. The breakfast was in the basement and consisted of a basic buffet which serves a variety of hot and cold dishes/beverages. The staff was friendly and were able to assist with any questions. You are able to buy public transport tickets at the reception which was very convenient. Unfortunately the Wi-Fi is, as many other users have pointed out, atrocious and I had to use mobile data most of the time. Overall we enjoyed our stay and can recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay close to the city centre without paying too much.

Bad service, absurde debs, horrible instalations, small breakfast buffet, and a horrible need of make money by lies. They accuse us of breaking a lamp and a bed (160€) and when we told them it was broken when we arrived and that we were not going to pay it they called the police.

The WiFi didn't work inside the room which gave me a big problem as I needed to work through my laptop. I asked to change to another room that the signal might me stronger but I was told it wasn't possible. The room was small ,so the bed was occupying most of it.On the other side the bathroom was big Breakfast was ok, basic. Stuff was friendly

we stayed here in Sept.2017 for 3 days. Hotel is located in quiet residential neighborhood. Very friendly staff but very poor WiFi and even front desk staff was not able to help. Excellent breakfast. This hotel is away from all attractions but good public transportation. Excellent restaurants nearby. Rooms are big and well decorated.

We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of September and we honestly couldn't fault this hotel. We had emailed a few weeks prior to our stay to ask if they would be able to store our suitcase as we had an early flight and didn't want to be stuck with it all day. We received a quick response telling us that this is a service the hotel provides. We arrived at the hotel around 10am, expecting to leave our bags and check in later. However, we were met by 3 lovely members of staff who told us we were able to check in early. This got our holiday off to a great start! We were able to leave our bags on the last day as we had a late flight on the Friday evening. We had a room on the second floor. The room was modern, spacious and clean. All amenities were provided (we had needlessly brought our own towels after reading a previous review saying these weren't provided.) Breakfast was good, there was bacon, sausages, boiled and scrambled egg alongside cold meats, cheeses, pastries and cereals. The staff kept the food on offer well topped up, which was good because it was busy at breakfast. Staff were very friendly, chatty and helpful and made us feel very welcome. The hotel is a short walk from the metro station Náměstí Míru on the A line. This made the journey to and from the airport very easy as we hopped on the 119 bus from the airport (7 stops) and boarded the metro at Nádraží Veleslavín (another 7 stops to Náměstí Míru) which took us less than an hour. There is a tram stop near the hotel, however we did not use the tram and opted to use the metro as it was only 3 stops to Old Town Square. We had bought our transport tickets at the airport but I believe you can also buy these from the hotel. There are a number of restaurants in the area, along with a couple of supermarkets for cheap supplies should they be needed. This hotel is excellent value for money. We hope to return to Prague next year and will definitely be staying at Hotel Machova again!

I'm genuinely shocked at a couple of bad reviews I've read on here about the Machova. This hotel is absolutely A* for the price bracket. I stayed with my husband and son earlier in September 2017, this was a second visit for us (stayed for the first time a few years ago) and the rooms, the service, everything was as good as before if not better. Our room (first floor facing out over the front of the hotel) was light and airy, spotlessly clean, lots of complimentary shower gels, shampoo, lovely thick towels etc, and the staff really friendly. Breakfasts were good, lots to choose from (buffet style). They were clearly busy the week we came but they couldn't do enough for us, so helpful. We were one of the first travellers caught out with the Ryanair sudden flight cancellations and the reception team were fabulous helping us contact the airport and helping us with online check-ins and printing out new boarding passes for our new flights, for that alone they deserve a medal. We had a great stay and would like to say a big thank you to Simona, Daniela and all at the Machova. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to others.
