We stayed with Katarina and her family for 3 nights when we went to Prague! The place is not far from the city, you just need to take a very pretty but very hard to cross path along the wood :-) our bedroom (+ bedroom) was very comfortable and private, giving on the garden, and what a garden! Luxurious and secret :-) Special thanks to Katarina who adapted her breakfast to my diabetic state :-) I am sorry I couldn't taste the delicious-looking pastry but unfortunately that would have been a very bad idea.. The bread is delicious too! Katarina went of with lots of advice for places to see, restaurants, how to enter the castle without having to queue... Very nice experience for staying with the Jenicskova family :-)

I chose this place because it presented itself as a warm Czech family home outside of the busy city. And public transport was quick and close. It did not disappoint. Katarina was everything I hoped for and more. Knowledgeable, service-oriented and cheerful. Jan junior was very helpful as well - picked us up at the airport, provided us with an good orientation to the city sites, including good restaurants (I am sure Katarina had something to do with that) and delivered us to the train station when needed. Multilingual, ( Czech, French, English, Russian and German), communicating was entertaining and never frustrating. However, the garden room and the breakfast room were cluttered and attention to detail was not a strong point. Most disappointing we could not keep the garden door open at night to experience the forest breezes and morning bird songs. In addition, the bed was uncomfortable so our sleeps were not as hopedl Nevertheless I would go back if another room was available.

June 2014 Guest House at Katarina’s: a Home with a Soul When you go to Prague, trust me, the place to stay at is Katarina's. l loved the friendly and warm atmosphere of the place. It was like being at home. Katarina's house is located 20 minutes from Charles Bridge by tram, in a quiet environment with tree-climbing squirrels. The room where I was accommodated was like a little nest, spotless, decorated with warm colors and with all up-to-date desirable commodities. Breakfast, enjoyed with the other guests, is kindly served in the living room, where you are treated with a variety of home-made cakes and jams. The whole family, Katarina, her husband Jan senior and their son Jan junior, were delighted to help me with their advice. They will give you plenty of right information for you to enjoy your trip at best. Katarina has a genuine love for her town and her country and guests can feel it. She has a special knack to make people understand Prague's heart. When you leave her place, your one dream will be to come back. This is what I did several times with some members of my family or with friends and each time was a wonder. Every one of them came back enthusiastic and, in turn, passed on the word! If you too, happen to stay at Katarina's, you will really experience a genuine, unforgettable, encounter with the magic of Prague, Bohemia and its fine inhabitants. First, thank you to Katarina for sharing her knowledge of Prague. We received tips on traveling by tram, places to visit, and very good restaurants to have dinner. She helped to make our city trips very enjoyable. Unfortunately our accommodations were below standard. The whole home is so cluttered that it is difficult to climb the steps to your room. The rooms are not clean and are full of personal items. There is no place to unpack and store you clothing and bathroom items. We piled our things on a large dinning table in our room. The water pressure is so bad that days were started with ice cold showers and breakfast is the bare minimum. (Breads, jam, one shared pot of plain yogurt, coffee, tea, and juice) I would not recommend this B&B!

We originally tried to book our stay in Prague with Family Jenickova, but there was unfortunately no room free for our chosen dates. But Katarina didn't left us searching; she organized a room for us at a friend's place (another B&B) not far from her place, where we had a wonderful stay. Even though we didn't stay with her, we met Katarina first to get the keys and were very warmly welcome. Since her friend was working, Katarina gave us tips, a very useful maps and so on. She also offered us her guide services to visit the city with a native person. We had prepared our trip ahead of time and had our days mapped out, but had we not done so, we would certainly have been in good hands with Katarina as our guide. Upon our departure, Katarina gave us a DVD full of typical recipes to remember our stay in Prague by. Even if I can't rate the room comfort, I have no qualms in recommending Family Jenickova's B&B for its location and the nice attentions we were surrounded with. The B&B is located in a quiet residential area - we were not afraid to leave our car parked on the street. The bus service down the hill or the long stairs for the fit ones take you down rapidly to the tram stop. The historical city is only 8 stops away (about 15 minutes). You are in town in no time for a mere 1 euro each way. Why then stay in a hotel downtown and have to pay for parking on top of that?
