Good atmosphere, very friendly staff. You feel good all around Unfortunately the bar / restaurant was closed due to the corona pandemic, but that didn't hurt the stay I am always happy to come back and look forward to the next time.
Like me this hotel has seen better days. I was quite surprised that a Falkensteiner could be so run down as this place, but maybe there are plans to bring it back to standard and I only had chosen a bad time to book. But let me start with the positive things: the staff is really nice and helpful. They were so helpful and courteous a lot of other hotels would be happy to have them on board. The breakfast was great. I loved the scrambled eggs! Everything was there that your heart could desire. I have to stay in hotels a lot when on business trips and this breakfast was one of the best in the past 6 months. But here is where the good side of the hotel ends. The room had a stale smell and felt gloomy. First thing I did was open a window, but the near busy road makes it impossible to keep it open for very long. Too noisy. So I tried the aircon. I am quite sure that it has not been serviced for quite a while and therefor that idea was a waist of time. The mould-stain above the aircon didn't enhance the feeling of cleanliness of the room, neither did the scuff marks on the walls. The floor felt gritty under my shoes, so I decided to keep my socks on, just in case I had to leave the bed during the night. Some of the furnishings were covered in fake leather and all of these had holes in them. Not very nice to look at. And on a closer look at the shower door was showing mould in the hinges. All in all not the end of the world but also very easily avoided.…
This was our first stay on a three vacation through Europe and it met all of our needs. Clean place throughout, large rooms with comfy beds and decent sized bathroom. The complimentary breakfast was the best we experienced in our entire trip and it would be hard to not find something you didn't like. Great variety of hot items to go along with fruits, cheeses, cold cuts, and homemade breads and danish. To top it off the location is fantastic as it is easy waking distance to all the main sites of the city and only a couple blocks to the central train station. If we return to Prague we will stay here without a doubt!
The hotel is great for a city trip with friends. The spa area is great after a long day in the city. The location is really great. I completely recommend to also book the breakfast, it’s big and really good. The fresh waffles are a great treat.
Excellent stay! All of the employees were really nice and friendly and helped us with every issue we had. We definitely recommend this hotel - even of the good Location directly in the Centre of Prague.
Nice Hotel. We stayed between Christmas and New Year. Five minute walk to the railway station and the main strip. Easy access to the tram network and about 15 minute walk to the main square and 20 minutes to the river (me walking including getting lost). Our room was clean and roomy. Hot powerful shower. Very comfy bed and pillows. Our room on the 3rd floor overlooked a car park area and over buildings with little surrounding noise. Breakfast was very good with an excellent selection. Receptions staff were brilliant and very helpful. Barman was also excellent. Considering the outside temperature was so cold the hotel was very warm. My only moan was that the corridors did smell of cigarette smoke. But….. what a great staircase !!!
Room is spacious and the location is near to the main station and some of the attractions as well. Breakfast is great. There was santa clause to give away small gift on the St. Nicholas Day and it is great if travel with kids.
Whilts this hotel is well mantained, located well and in therory has all offerings for a decent stay the total lack of guest oriented friendliness drags its experience down to average. Check-In was a long wait and one had to wonder why the second staff member present at the desk was not assiting with check-ins? I did not feel welcome at al. Arriving was rather a transaction than a personal interaction between humans. The room was clean but the trash can in the bathroom had not been emptied. The hangers in the wardrobe were not properly ordered. During my absence for dinner I had placed a DND sign which was obviously ignored as I found a newly placed guest satisfaction survey on my pillow when returning .... This is a NO-GO! Whilst teh breakfast offering was o.k,. the four staff members (clearly sufficient) present in the breakfast room ALL missed to wish me a good morning or interact. There activities were once again transactional, i.e. serving coffee, clearing tables etc. Robots probably can do as good but at lower cost. Bottom line: MEDIOCRE! …
