We selected this hotel based on a good sampling of prior reviews and were not disappointed. It is a quaint boutique hotel near Prague castle ( just up the street). It is a 15 minute walk to Charles bridge and another 15 to the old town square. Our room (at the back in the garden section) was very quiet and... More

Myself and my husband visited Prague the 2nd week in September. We stayed in the golden wheel hotel. It was a most beautiful place to stay. Lovely room. Lovely breakfast. And great staff especially Leonardo who couldn't do enough for us. We will be back.

My sister and I are currently traveling around Europe from California and are staying at this hotel. This hotel is perfectly located between Charles bridge and Prague castle. We were surprised at the amount of tourists in Prague and we very happy to be in a hotel that was outside of loud old town. The hotel is beautiful and the... More

The hotel is perfectly located with restaurants, shops and tasty treats up and down the street. Walking distance to the Castle and close to the square where you can easily ride the trams anywhere in the city. The room far exceeded our expectations in both size and atmosphere. Keep in mind it is a very old building so it has... More

The room exceeded our expectations as you never know what to expect in historical buildings. Comfort, decor, location, cleanliness and friendliness of all staff could not have been better! If you're the type that must have air conditioning, then request room with it, otherwise you can do like we did and open wide the big windows and get fresh air instead.

This hotel is as other reviewers have stated, in an excellent location, probably one of the nicest areas to stay when in Prague. The staff are very welcoming and very helpful, this always makes your stay better. You are only a short stroll away from the castle and a ten minute walk to the Charles bridge and Old town area.... My wife and I spent a week at the Golden Wheel in late August. We could not have made a happier choice. Above all, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff (Michelle, Leonardo, Jan, Yvetta....) made our stay very comfortable. Yes, we experienced some of the issues other travellers have mentioned: Nerudova Street is noisy (but the double windows shut... More

We were greeted with a friendly welcome by the reception staff member. Our room was a good size, very clean and upon arrival had a fresh bowl of fruit. A lovely touch. Each day a chocolate each and a rose were placed on our bed. The location is perfect for walking to all tourist spots yet it is pleasantly less... More

Amazing location near castle, restaurants and bars. Staff were friendly with a cold welcome drink and free chocolate & biscuits in the room. Spacious clean room with good amenities. No direct lift to floor (had to change) but stairs were fine for us. Also the area has a small hill, but so has a lot of Prague! Would definitely recommend... More

Spacious, clean & comfortable room. Friendly, informative & helpful staff. Great view & location. Near enough to landmarks - Prague Castle, Letna Park, Charles Bridge & Petrin but not overly touristy. Easy to get around city & from the airport, about 10 minute walk from nearest metro. Splendid hotel in a great city. Would highly recommend. Few places to eat... More

Staying in Hradcany & Letna

Neighborhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
