Detailed Reviews
We stayed here as part of a Topdeck tour. The hotel was nice and the rooms were spacious. The tram stop is right outside the hotel however I would definitely recommend staying closer to the city, the hotel is a little too far out.

Rooms were ok pretty basic but clean. Bed was 2 singles joined together. Lift goes in between floors meaning you will need to carry your luggage up some stairs. Breakfast was average, they closed up early one morning too meaning we almost missed it. Public transport is right outside the hotel and was very cheap. It took about 20 mins to get to the middle of town

Pluses: The hotel is good, its clean, easy checkin, friendly staff.
In front of the door you can get on the tram to the center in 12 minutes.
A minus: We stayed for 4 days and there was no cleaning and towel refreshing. ( i didnt ask for it either, but I'm used to it being done automatically )

The room was filthy and looked really worn down. The headboard was in textile and full of gross stains, the white walls were covered in stains and the lampshades have been beat up and not replaced. Everything felt dirty.
The location is quite far from the city. I was fooled by my booking site to think it was closer (not the hotels fault ofc), but the tram is easy to use and cheap.
We ordered a taxi via the lobby when we were leaving for the airport. They did not inform us that it was an Uber, not a taxi. Which is fine, but it was just weird they didn't say it beforehand.

I was part of a group of four girls, This was our first time to prague and I fell in love with the city. The Apollon hotel was very clean, which is the only thing I ask for. The only complaint I had was that the two single beds were pushed together so I had to share with my sister (not fun). The food was the usual cold buffet of cheese, ham, bread, cereal etc. But There was always plenty of food. There is a tram stop two minutes from the hotel but you have to change trams if you want to get to charles bridge or the old town. Overall a nice hotel very clean and the staff are very helpful but it is a little out of the way for sight seeing and watering holes.

Booked with gtahotels.com the map on that website was wrong and we wasted hours driving around looking in the wrong area. The hotel staff didn't seem to care - we got put on the phone to a manager who simply said 'have a nice stay' to our complaints.
Rooms and bathrooms are tatty and old. We saw a strange bug near our bed and couldn't sleep at night thinking it was a bed bug. Breakfast was OK - liked the cottage cheese cakes but the coffee was cold and all we got was a shrug when we complained. Mostly it took aver 45mins to get into town.....

Half an hour walk from Prague's city centre. Bus stop very close by and you could purchase public transport tickets from the hotel reception which was handy if you did not have the correct change for the ticket machines. Milkbar/convenience stores close by. We stayed for 9 nights and would definitely recommend it.
ROOM: we had a double room which was quite spacious, it had air-conditioning and heating and separate bathroom and toilet. It had a large wardrobe, TV and desk which was handy.Unfortunately no fridge though. Room was cleaned everyday.
BREAKFAST: Excellent choice of fresh food. Fruit, breads, cold meats, salads, cereals etc

The Hotel Apollon is described as a three star hotel; it isn't, but is a clean, value for money two star hotel in Prague. The Hotel lies on tram lines 1 and 9, which take you to Wenceslas Square in the city centre in between 15 and 25 minutes depending on the number of passengers and the traffic flow. The tram stop is 200m from the Hotel entrance; a 3 day inclusive Prague transport pass costing approximately £7 is a must; this allows unlimited transport on the comprehensive metro, tram and bus network in the city, including links to and from the airport by metro, tram and bus.
The Hotel lies in a row of flats, and has a small entrance foyer. What is described as a Bar and Restaurant is now just used for breakfasts; evening meals and lunches are not served. Breakfast is a typical continental buffet meal; breads, yoghurt, cereals, hard boiled eggs, fruit juices, tea and coffee, toast, fruit and tinned fruit etc, served between 0700 - 0930hrs. A number of restaurants are within easy walking distance for an evening meal, or the city centre and its hundreds of bars, restaurants etc is just 15-20 minutes away.
I stayed in room 109, a twin room with balcony at the rear of the Hotel and overlooking a small park. The bed linen was spotless, and the bathroom fittings were brand new; the shower was powerful and hot water was supplied instantly. In view of the close proximity of the tram lines, a room at the rear of the building is to be preferred. There is a lift, but unusually it serves the landings between floors, so that all guests have at least a flight of steps to reach their room.
The Hotel requires new carpets throughout; this gives the place a somewhat down-at-heel appearance. However, for the price paid of £99 per person, including flights with easyJet from East Midlands Airport and three nights B&B accommodation, it was excellent value, and its faults are outweighed by three nights excellent sleep, followed by a filling and tasty breakfast each morning.

The Apollon Hotel in Prague is nestled in a quiet area of Prague, about 20mins tram ride into the city centre (Wenceslas Square). The tram line is located right across the road from the hotel which makes it convenient. There are also a handful of small restaurants, kebab shops and convenience stores walking distance from the hotel.
The hotel itself seems to have undergone a facelift as the rooms, reception area and dining room all look new and clean. The rooms are a good size, clean and neat and no complaints here!
Breakfast was included during my stay as part of a Topdeck trip in September 2013. There are a few hot options with breakfast which is good and I found the food to be adequate. No complaints here either.
The hotel receptionist was friendly and spoke good English and gave us directions on dropping off and picking up our laundry. A guy who runs a cleaning service charges 20 euros for up to 7kg of laundry that gets picked up, washed, folded and dropped off the next day at the hotel reception.
All in all a good stay. If you don't mind enjoying a leisurely 20min tram ride into the city from the hotel, this place is worth to stay at.

We booked (or should I say got booked into) this hotel as part of an all-inclusive-one-stop-shop package for the Clapton concert in Prague. As such the hotel was reasonably decent. It was very clean, the rooms modernly set, the wifi was free and working at a reasonable speed when no more than 3 people were surfing simultaneously (nah... it was not _that_ bad... 5 people ;). The price seem was also very reasonable - it was never exposed as part of the package, but it was cheap enough for us to book a room for the last day, even though we never spent the last night there (our flight out of Prague was on midnight). The staff was also very professional, helpful and extremely patient (no small feat considering the audience that this cheap hotel attracts), and helpful and actually spoke very good English. Breakfast (right...) leaves a little to be desired - its basically perhaps just a bit above what you would call "continental" - as does the rude staff. When they say breakfast is served 7-10, they do not mean that the last person will be seated at 10. They mean that 10 is the End of the B'fast World. Light are shut down, A/C is shut down, all food is taken away... no more coffee... no more nothing, and at 10:15 you're even in for a verbal scolding from the staff... and one in Czech for that matter... YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
But... location... location... location...
The hotel is waaaaaaaaay off the center... One indication is that its so off, it does not even appear on the TripAdvisor City Guide app map...
Yes... there are a couple of tram lines which have stops across the street. And, yes.. these lines operate at a reasonable frequency during the day. And... yes... as advertised its really a 15' ride to the center of town. But come nighttime... say you are trying to get back to the hotel After Midnight (heh, heh...). Good luck, especially if you are NOT a sardine. I'll tell ya' - these trams come once in a blue moon, and they are so jam-packed, the scent of the sweat (especially during the hot summer days, like we had) is overcome only by the scent of the alcohol fumes... Its a terrible experience... and good luck finding a taxi, especially if you are a party of more than 4...
Not to mention the sheer pleasure of being able to get back to one's room on a whim... be it for a siesta, a change of clothes, or just to powder your nose...
All-in-all, my recommendation, despite the nice rooms, to stay away
