I stayed in Sir Toby’s with my girlfriend . We stayed in the private room with double bed. Very spacious room with balcony, comfortable bed and a big wardrobe. I highly recommend this room for couples. The breakfast was also nice and the atmosphere in the hostel bar is welcoming.
This is in an older building in the Holesovice Arts District. It has great Tram access to everywhere in Prague. The Holesovice Train Station is nearby but the stop is very short. We stayed in the 'Balcony' ensuite room. There were hardwood floors and a comfortable king bed with a firm mattress and with those quirky double duvets, bigger than usual. You could step onto the balcony to gauge the temperature outside. The heating was good, and adjustable. There was a coffee and tea space with a sink. It was pretty quiet. The shower was the weakest point of the suite. There was no shower curtain or soap dish. The acceptable hot water adjustment had a very tiny range, so we were always searching for the right temperature. Thre was some unpleasant odor coming from the shower drain, and it was sometimes out into the coffee area. Only one of us noticed it. The pub in the basement is a great place to meet people. The breakfast buffet there has a lot of items to choose from and we ate there several times. The elevator stops on a landing halfway between floors so you still have some steps to get to your room. The washer and dryer have limited settings so if you need 'delicate' you are out of luck. The staff at this hostel is VERY friendly and diverse. They can give you good advice if you ask. This IS a good place to base yourself for a stay in Prague…
Jaime the bartender was awesome, gave advice to all the groups on where to go out and even helped me cook a pizza because there is no oven in the kitchen, there was also rodey (redoy?) recepsionist who was also nice and helped when the door refused to open. Nice place to relax and its not over the top partying like some other hostels in the area.
Stayed here for 2 nights. Great staff, clean rooms and toilets, great bar. Only reason for not being a 5 is because it is not located near enough to the centre also on our second night (last night) a group of 5 friends (girls) checked in late around half 11 then came up to the dorm room turning the lights on and making lots of noise loudly in the room until 4am with no consideration for other people in there, so therefore did not sleep much.
It is a little bit too far away (in my opinion) from the city centre and the central bus and train station to walk. But if you don't mind walking or if you take public transport it's actually not that far away. Apart from that, it is a lovely place with a garden and even a pub in the basement. There's self-laundry service for a price and also a 24 hour accessible kitchen. They also have breakfast in the morning from 160kc but if you book it the day before, it'll cost you 140kc. It is a perfectly decent place and not that expensive as well - overall it's great value for money. I would definitely stay here again.
