What a lovely hostel!!!! I had such a chill lovely time staying here. Met some really cool people and we all ended up cooking a delicious meal together before going out. Social but chill if you want to keep to yourself. The beds are so comfy and the rooms feel like you have so much room, due to the tall ceilings. The outside area was lovely to have a drink and a smoke during the day and into the night (sadly it closed at 9.30pm). The common room and kitchen are open 24/7 which was really nice, expecally after coming back late and you are able to grab a snack and chat with some people. The location is lovely, lots of cheap asian food places around, very close to cross club, not far from the centre and close to a lovely swimming spot in the river. Had a great time, the only reason I don’t rate it 5 stars is due to the relatively dirty kitchen and bathrooms, but it was cheap enough that we didn’t care. Highly recommend.

I spent a week at Toby's, I went there to recover from a surgery I had, which meant I was very limited in movement and in a lot of pain throughout.

The staff were SO lovely, forthcoming, kind. They re-organized the room I could stay in and provided me with a private bathroom and kitchen suite, they even brought me breakfast every morning due to my condition. Everyone was always willing to help and assist no matter the time or request.

The room was super comfortable, wide and open. The shower heads especially stood out, very big overhead showers in a pretty bathroom.

There even was a French press coffee pot and coffee and tea in the kitchen, which I happily used each morning.

The lounge downstairs was cozy and I spent a few evenings there, as well as the garden in the back and direct surroundings of the hostel provided lots of restaurants and little stores for all needs.

Overall it was a lovely stay, there is nothing to complain about at all, in fact they made my rather though and painful week endurable and more comfortable and I am really grateful to everyone at Sir Toby's. I've already recommended the place to friends and family and I'll be back one day. :-)

Thank you so much!
Sandra

The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful with information concerning transport, lockers and everything. I randomly got picked 'Guest of the day' upon arrival so I enjoyed a free breakfast, which I recommend you to try as well as it's cheap and a good selection of everything.
The beds were comfortable, I enjoyed a good night's sleep in the female only dorm, which also has no bunk beds if that's important to you. The room was very bright, clean and cozy, I really liked the wooden floors.
You have to walk for a bit to get to the old town, but you can walk along the river of just take public transport. If you enjoy art the location of the hostel is perfect as you have the DOX, one of the cities most popular centres for contemporary art right around the corner.

You just have to be really lucky get a decent room, mine wasn't. People were really loud and drunk at night and staff didn't do anything about it. Facilities were rusty and old. I told the staff that one person pissed on my bed while drunk and they didn't care to clean the sheets once in my 3 night stay. They charge a "cleaning fee" for towels that are the size of a napkin. Charged me 25 usd for a 20 minute late checkout in the rudest way possible

The hostel itself is quaint and the amenities such as the bar and communal kitchen are nice. The customer service did not feel very welcoming. We came as a large group, which I know can be difficult, but it was booked and coordinated well in advance and upon arrival it seemed that our group was viewed as an inconvenience and was not accommodated very well. I would not recommend the 12 person rooms as the top bunks are very high and borderline dangerous to go up and down especially at night. Overall I wouldn’t recommend if you are traveling in a group, but may work better for a single traveler or a duo.

Me and my 16 year old sister booked a twin private room with a shared bathroom. We enjoyed our stay a lot, everything was clean. We could check in early in the morning because we arrived at 6am and there was nobody in our room the night before.
We even got some vouchers for free beer because I forgot to complete the payment the first time and we had too book again (I lost about 25€). That was very nice! Probably partly because it is the off-season, the hostel was nicely quiet. We had some interaction with other travelers as well but it is not a crazy party vibe.

We booked for 3 nights for 3 people in a mixed dormitory of 12 people. I'm 20 years old and I'm traveling with both my 56 year old parents.

As soon as we arrive at the hostel, it seems to me that there are already disapproving looks on my parents; having not yet communicated to the receptionist what we have booked (either a dormitory or a private room).
A discussion takes place between the manager and an employee regarding us.
I go to the counter to check in, but I am told there is a problem with my reservation. My parents are over the “age limit” to access the dormitory.
He tells me that it is clearly marked on booking and on their website, but when I made my reservation I found nothing of the sort!
We reached an agreement, he offered us an economical room for my parents for 2 nights and me in a mixed dormitory for 3 nights.

We certainly didn't pay any difference, but we had to find another night in Prague to finish our stay; the establishment being full.
They claimed that it was uncomfortable for my parents to sleep in a dormitory due to the traffic of other guests and for the sake of comfort. However, we knew very well what to expect in a youth hostel.

I didn't sleep the last night in this hostel to accompany my parents to the hotel. No refund or compensation was considered.
On the last day we spoke with a French speaker, who told us that there were people over 40 years old who stayed in this hostel. Our contract did not match what we had booked.
It is our feeling that there was certainly age discrimination.

I still understand the reasons concerning the age restrictions in the dormitories, young people among young people, but it would be appreciated to clarify this before validating the purchase. We thought we would save money but it turned out to be more expensive than expected.

All the same, the hostel is very pleasant, you feel good there, the places are clean, very good atmosphere, bar and nice breakfast. The tram is right next to the building, very convenient!
Staff is available 24 hours a day.

I recommend this hostel as long as you are under 35!

The location of the Hostel is good it will take only 10 min from the tram station which is hardly 200m from the hostel to reach centre. The underground bar is very good and the reception is always there to help you 24*7. The rooms are good and clean. I would recommend it to any one going solo or group.

The best hostel I have every stayed in. The room was extremely clean ( including the shower which I find can be forgotten in other places).

The atmosphere is incredible, the common area/ kitchen is always buzzing with people of all ages and from all places chatting to one another, inviting each other out for the night. I met some incredible people which i still keep in tough!

It is out of the centre of Prague but the tram stop is a two minute walk and very efficient.

The front door is always locked which adds to the security but there is always a receptionist to let you in if you forget the code. They provide large boxes that are able to fit an entire hiking rucksack.

Overall loved my stay, Thank you!!

Our stay at Sir Toby’s was nothing short of spectacular. The reception staff were exceptional, providing so many recommendations and overall being super friendly, and the overall experience was so enjoyable. The hostel may be out of the city centre, but with the close transport links and the cheap price, Sir Toby’s is the perfect base to explore this wonderful city. Special thank you to the Bangladeshi receptionist whose name I cannot remember. Thank you!

Hello there. I am ST's manager and am happy to let you know that we open much earlier than 21.00 - the bar starts at 18.00 and stays open until a bit later than midnight. In addition to beer, we serve mixed alcoholic drinks and soft drinks, ciders, spirits and snacks. We also have free dinner twice a week and organize daily events to get our guests together now in low season - unfortunately, pub crawl is not one of them, but we can recommend a good one. I hope this helps, Karlo

I wasn't in the 12 person dorm - mine was 5 beds, which I liked - but I think all rooms have an outlet nearby. The lockers in my room were the under-bed kind, which work well for carry-on size bags. Just bring your own lock.
