Stayed as part of a Top Deck tour - this camp site is okay; it's probably the further out from the action that we stayed. 15-20 minute walk to station then 15 minute trip into town. Nice grass site to pitch up in - but unfortunately this campsite is straight out the 1950s. There's no soap, the toilets rarely had toilet paper in, there's spiders everywhere, the showers aren't very clean.
We stayed for nearly a week having driven down from Berlin with our trailer tent. The staff were welcoming and very helpful. When we stayed the site was relatively quiet with a cosmopolitan range of camper vans and tents. The site was well placed to catch the underground into the city as well as easy to get to the shopping centre by the airport but you probably need a car. Facilities on site were clean but a bit tatty and tired. Facilities were cleaned twice daily. Staying here gave us an opportunity to visit the city, castle, cathedral and take a guided tour of WW II in Prague followed with a beer tasting. We ate at the restaurant adjacent to the campsite which was very reasonable and it was also convenient for some open country exploring.
I've been staying here since 1995. I have seen many changes over the years. Recently the campsite has invested much in its facilities in upgrading its accommodation block. The site is always clean and tidy. The food is of a good quality. The staff are generally helpful and speak many languages. If you do not want to pay £60-80 an night and £30 a night sounds better then this is the place. Its got good connections to both city centre and the airport.
