One of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed in! If like me, you love art deco, you’ll go into overload here. I have some mobility issues and asked for a walk in shower, not a problem here! We were given a room on the 5th floor, giving us a nice view into Old Town. The lady who runs the hotel gave us a very warm welcome, and it was a nice way to begin our break. Our room was spacious and had every amenity one could imagine! The hotel is well located and offers plenty of places nearby to eat. If you enjoy shopping, the Palladium is nearby and has an excellent food court to suit a tight budget. One odd thing happened on the day we checked out. We ordered a taxi to take us to the main train station, and agreed 200 CZK. When we checked out, we advised we previously ordered a taxi and were eagerly told the taxi would be 400 CZK, and were enthusiastically told we could pay at the hotel! We explained that we were quoted 200 CZK and refused to pay double! A few mutters and we were told the fare was indeed 200 CZK and we advised we would pay our driver cash! I won’t spoil my review of this fabulous hotel, by a member of staff going how I would phrase, “ Going Rogue!” In all my years of travel, I’ve never experienced such an event, but feel the need to warn my fellow travellers! We enjoyed our stay, and look forward to our next visit, but won’t be booking a taxi from the hotel, especially if this guy is working the check out!…
1. Hotel overall : Clean but a bit dated 2. Service. Good and helpful front of desk. 3. Rooms: We stayed in an Executive room. This is spacious. With the TV, there are a number of channels in different languages. With English speaking channels, these are news only. You can access You Tube via the TV. The TV can also pair with your mobile devices - seems just Androids. We have Iphones, so does not work with us. The toilet and bathroom are separate. Both were very clean - we believe newly refurbished. As the bath is new, we found it super slippery, so need to be extremely careful when coming out without a bath mat. I note that you can request for one of these from the hotel. There is a L'OR coffee machine in the room. All the cups supplied were for having a ristretto and a double expresso, so too small for English breakfast tea. 4. Gym: Compact but adequate. 5 Breakfast: Good selection of bread, pastries, hot food, cold meat, cheeses and fruits. 6. Location. This is excellent as - Its close to a numerous shops/restaurants including the large and modern Palladium shopping centre (c400 metres away ) in Namesti Republicki square, and 10 -15 minutes walk to the Old Town Square (i.e. Astronomical Clock, Church of our Lady before Tyn, Town Hall etc ) - Under 10 minutes walk to Florenc Bus Station where you can take a coach directly to Karlovy Vary - over 2 hours (when all the private tours are fully booked or do not go there on a Tuesday). Its a long journey but quicker than train (which is apparently over 3 hours!!). We went with the bus company, Regiojet - all seats have access to a monitor (like a plane) and you can play games or watch a film for the journey (good to bring your earphones although I think they may provide this) - Close to Metro stations - Florenc and Namesti Republicki (the latter is closer and in a nicer area)…
This hotel is the most beautiful hotel you will ever see in your life. It is outstanding. Upon arriving, the staff were super friendly & willing to help. The room we stayed in was a deluxe double/twin room. The bed was two slightly large twins put together, and it was SO comfortable. The bathroom was so luxurious - it even had underfloor heating, I wish I could have taken the bathroom home with me. We had breakfast booked within our package for the entire stay and there were no faults. We made sure we filled our bellies ready for the day ahead. Everything from toast, to croissants, to fruit, hams, cheeses, cereals to hot cooked food such as sausage, eggs, beans, bacon and porridge! There was something for everyone, and if you wanted a fried egg all you had to do was ask one of the waiting staff and they’d sort it for you - nothing was too much to ask! The hotel is beautifully situated. Only around a 10 minute walk from the Old Town Square of Prague. There is a shopping centre around 200m down the road from the hotel with over 200 shops - including C&A which is incredible!! There is also a lovely kebab shop that is located around 200m away from the hotel! Everything where you need it, great location, fabulous staff and an incredibly clean and welcoming hotel. What more could you ask for on a city break to the Czech Republic?!…
I arrived at the hotel, with the reservation confirmed, however the hotel is closed for renovations. Thankfully one of the workers escorted me across the street to the cosmopolitan hotel where the front desk kindly inform me I had a reservation there instead of at the art deco hotel. Had I known that the Art Deco imperial hotel was closed due to renovations I certainly would have made a reservation in another hotel. The cosmopolitan hotel, well nice, is not the vibe that I was looking for.
Our room was well organized. The beds were so comfortable, and the individual duvets are nice. I was glad to travel with our own pillows though, because we were each given 2 somewhat flat foam rubber pillows that offered no real head and neck support.
The Art Deco Imperial Hotel is the most stunning hotel we have ever stayed in. The rooms are beautiful, the bed was extremely comfortable (and I'm very fussy in this area). The cleanliness of the entire hotel was second to none! I defy anyone not to be able to find something suitable to eat at the breakfast buffet, what a superb selection of hot, cold, pastries, breads and fruits...... The Hotel is in the perfect location, close enough to walk to the usual tourist sites, without being in the tourist trap eating area. Having said that the food in the Hotel was outstanding and we ate in the hotel restaurant 3 evenings out of our 5 nights.
Art Deco imperial is simply magnificent! - Superbly decorate rooms and facilities - Excellent breakfast - Convenient location - Highly professional staff: As soon as I reported a problem with the TV in my room (that could not be fixed as it turned out) the receptionists offered me the possibility to move into a new room (+ it was a free upgrade)
We booked an executive double and were delighted with the complementary bottle of sparing wine that greeted us with a note wishing us a Happy Anniversary - such a lovely gesture! The decor was really beautiful and there was an incredibly high standard of cleanliness in the room and throughout the hotel. Such comfort too. The staff were lovely, very helpful and efficient and thankfully everyone spoke English. The breakfast buffet was very good (a la carte options also available for extra cost) and the Art Deco Cafe was wonderful - such opulence! We will definitely stay here again when we return to Prague!
After reviewing several hotels in Prague Art Deco seemed to be high on most people’s reviews. We had an amazing stay. We booked an executive room and it was spotless. Perfect beds and very generous size. The hotel is so well looked after and the staff are excellent. Breakfast was perfect too. The only downside was that we couldn’t get a reservation for the restaurant on our three night stay. So my recommendation is book before you arrive to avoid disappointment. I have to add that the staff really are 5 *. Location is excellent. Well within walking distance of everything.
The Imperial Hotel belongs to jewels in the center of Prague, if you travel to the Czech capital town. My room was amazing, perfect style in all aspects, the hotel restaurant serves breakfast and food in a little bit reduced setup, however, still enjoyable. The staff is extremely polite and helpful. Will be back again soon.
