There are hotels in the world that make other choices in the area superfluous. Examples include The Grand Hotel in Milan and The Merrion Hotel in Dublin. The Golden Well is one of those hotels. The location is elegant and quiet, yet central. The views are striking. The staff is friendly, and the restaurant is excellent. The room are well-appointed, comfortable, and unique. The Golden Well makes visiting Prague simple; I would not stay anywhere else.
From spacious rooms to attentive service, my family's stay in Golden Well was perfect. The rooms are decently sized and tastefully furbished, and the hotel staff was above and beyond to satisfy our needs. Breakfast was also perfect in every way. 从宽敞的房间到周到的服务,我家人在黄金井的住堪称完美。 房间大小适中,装修雅致,酒店工作人员竭尽所能满足我们的需求。 早餐在各方面也很完美。非常推荐。
Service was top notch! This hotel had a great location, included an awesome full breakfast, late afternoon wine and snacks, lovely accommodations and amenities in the room. Literally everything you can ask for! But the most remarkable aspect was the really great service from check-in to check-out! Stellar and superb hospitality are two words that I would use. We had cancellations of our flight when leaving and I ended up having to return to the hotel alone at 5 am for another day. The genuine kindness in a difficult time meant a lot to me. Literally every aspect of the hotels service was 100%!
Where to stay was a very personal question for me when visiting the town of my childhood... and I found a place of piece and quiet in the middle of the busy old town/castle area with excellent service and fantastic views. The hotel is in the walking distance from the center, tram and metro. Everything worked perfect, stable wifi needed for work, garage service in the hotel nearby, small goodies etc.. I have not used the restaurant during my stay, other than for breakfast, yet I could recommend if you're looking for a nice dinner treat from my previous experience. Looking forward for my next stay
The hotel is in great location away from the tourists in the old town but just at the foot of the castle. However, the path to the hotel is cobbled and pedestrianised (albeit a small bit) so if people have difficulties then this may be something to consider. Our room was ok (quite small in the corner of the second floor) and a bit dark with one window at the end of the room. Would not want to stay in this room again!!! It was a lovely touch to have chocolates or a small cake every day in our room with the turn down service. Svatlana was very helpful at the main desk but she was only there on the first day we arrived. Unfortunately, the other lady receptionists were not very helpful. We kept asking for the phone in our room to be repaired which was never done despite repeated requests and so could not order room service or communicate with the reception. Our last day was very disappointing as we came back to the hotel tired and hungry and before we left for the airport we asked the receptionist to request the restaurant that delivers room service for a sandwich and coffee. At first there was a language barrier but finally when she did understand we were told it was not possible as the restaurant was booked for a party and they could not make a sandwich. We asked to speak to the restaurant (as we had checked out) but she refused to let us do this which left a very disappointing memory. Ultimately as we were hungry we took the cab early to the airport and ate there. One would not expect this of a hotel that is a five star and a “luxury” hotel!!! Also beware that the reception does not call you if you have booked a private guide to pick you up at the hotel. We made this mistake and assumed the reception (like at all hotels) would intimate us that our guide had arrived and was waiting at reception. Ultimately, it was only when we were leaving the breakfast room that the lady told us someone was waiting and we ran down to find out he had been waiting an hour and has kept requesting the reception staff to intimate us that he had arrived. Besides the above, a nice hotel in a good location.…
We finally go to stay here after having reservations for the past two years but due to COVID. The hotel personnel were great in working with us to keep our reservation for us for so long. The rooms were spacious and had every amenity you can imagine. The staff were so helpful and friendly. They provided great recommendations for places to eat, things to do and see. The breakfast that was included was outstanding. Great food and service in a beautiful environment. If we go back to Prague, there is no doubt we will stay here again and recommend it to anyone we know who may be traveling here in the future.
This hotel hides down a cobblestone lane. If you want to treat yourself to something special, you MUST stay here. We stayed in the Tycho de Brahe suite and it was spectacular. Immaculate, gorgeous and VERY romantic. Wonderfully comfortable bed! There is a beautiful view of the gardens from the bedroom windows. As if this isn’t enough, the staff are fantastic. A very special “thank you” to Libuse Salanska, Marec Cormac and (please forgive me, I’m terrible with names), the gentleman who gave us a tour the evening of May 24th. I cannot say enough about the staff, they are exceptional. I can’t wait until the day I can return to this dream of a hotel.
We chose the hotel to stay for my husband's significant birthday and were utterly delighted with the service from start to finish. Our rooms were perfect: a wonderful view, every amenity imaginable, comfortable bed, amazing array of pillows, delightful evening treats (& lovely gesture of a mini birthday cake for my husband!). Staff couldn't be more helpful, the views across the terracotta buildings, the perfect breakfast and ideal, super quiet location. Would certainly recommend.
What a relief to find that wonderful customer service still exists. We're not very high-maintenance but Marek was a star both before we arrived (with honest advice about our planned trip to the Bohemian-Switzerland Park - which, by the way, was an excellent day-out from the city and very easy to sort yourself with public transport and some googling) as well as helping out in small ways while we were staying at the hotel. We've stayed in the main area across the river previously but far prefer this side for the views and a quieter spot (that said, you're at Charles Bridge in no time). Thurs/Fri was lively but enjoyable - the weekend saw a huge influx of visitors (we were on a train with quite a few of them coming from Germany on the Fri night) so might be worth considering your days of travel. I would definitely stay at the Golden Well in future and my only criticism is that they had booked out the terrace or restaurant on 2 of the 3 nights we stayed. I understand why they'd want to do this but, nonetheless, it's frustrating for those who've booked to stay…
What can we say to even begin to express how amazing our stay at the Golden Well was??? We decided at the last moment, to travel from our home in Nürnberg, to Prague for just one night. We wish we could have stayed longer!! From the welcome prosecco and beer at check-in, to the taking our bags up to the room while we were checking in....to the valet parking...to the soft music and chocolates left in our room upon arrival...everything was just perfection!! We had decided to go to Prague for our special anniversary...and we couldn't have asked for anything better!! We are Americans living in Germany and travel to Prague at least 4-5 times a year (we always bring our guests there)...and have decided that we will ALWAYS pick this hotel from now on!!! We have stayed in over 15 hotels in Prague, and this one was just the most romantic, special hotel we've ever stayed in. We had lunch on their top floor amazing terrace restaurant...delicious!!! We went out on our bikes for the day, and when we returned, they had our bed turned down, the black-out drapes closed, soft music and dimmed lights, and a chocolate cake for our special day...and even left the sweetest personal note!! In the morning, we had the most spectacular breakfast ever!!! French toast, eggs benedict, pancakes, omelets, prosecco....just wonderful!!! They also helped us load and unload our bikes and pack up our bags in our car. We felt like we were the only guests in the hotel!! We had picked one of the least expensive rooms...and even it was amazing!!! lol! We asked to see the other rooms, too, and they were beautiful! We will not try another hotel...we have found our home-away-from-home....we will just experiment with different rooms!! lol! Oh...and the bath was perfection, too!!! I think the best part of the entire hotel though, is her staff!! Michal, Theresa, and the restaurant staff could not have been any more kind and considerate. Seriously, just the best hotel in Prague!!!! <3…
