What a relief to find that wonderful customer service still exists. We're not very high-maintenance but Marek was a star both before we arrived (with honest advice about our planned trip to the Bohemian-Switzerland Park - which, by the way, was an excellent day-out from the city and very easy to sort yourself with public transport and some googling) as well as helping out in small ways while we were staying at the hotel. We've stayed in the main area across the river previously but far prefer this side for the views and a quieter spot (that said, you're at Charles Bridge in no time). Thurs/Fri was lively but enjoyable - the weekend saw a huge influx of visitors (we were on a train with quite a few of them coming from Germany on the Fri night) so might be worth considering your days of travel. I would definitely stay at the Golden Well in future and my only criticism is that they had booked out the terrace or restaurant on 2 of the 3 nights we stayed. I understand why they'd want to do this but, nonetheless, it's frustrating for those who've booked to stay…
What can we say to even begin to express how amazing our stay at the Golden Well was??? We decided at the last moment, to travel from our home in Nürnberg, to Prague for just one night. We wish we could have stayed longer!! From the welcome prosecco and beer at check-in, to the taking our bags up to the room while we were checking in....to the valet parking...to the soft music and chocolates left in our room upon arrival...everything was just perfection!! We had decided to go to Prague for our special anniversary...and we couldn't have asked for anything better!! We are Americans living in Germany and travel to Prague at least 4-5 times a year (we always bring our guests there)...and have decided that we will ALWAYS pick this hotel from now on!!! We have stayed in over 15 hotels in Prague, and this one was just the most romantic, special hotel we've ever stayed in. We had lunch on their top floor amazing terrace restaurant...delicious!!! We went out on our bikes for the day, and when we returned, they had our bed turned down, the black-out drapes closed, soft music and dimmed lights, and a chocolate cake for our special day...and even left the sweetest personal note!! In the morning, we had the most spectacular breakfast ever!!! French toast, eggs benedict, pancakes, omelets, prosecco....just wonderful!!! They also helped us load and unload our bikes and pack up our bags in our car. We felt like we were the only guests in the hotel!! We had picked one of the least expensive rooms...and even it was amazing!!! lol! We asked to see the other rooms, too, and they were beautiful! We will not try another hotel...we have found our home-away-from-home....we will just experiment with different rooms!! lol! Oh...and the bath was perfection, too!!! I think the best part of the entire hotel though, is her staff!! Michal, Theresa, and the restaurant staff could not have been any more kind and considerate. Seriously, just the best hotel in Prague!!!! <3…
What a find. Perfect location as base for Prague exploration, hidden from the crowds and only few minutes from Karlův most. The staff made every effort for a comfortable visit for our family. The view from our adjoining room overlooking Prague’s rooftops was like something out of a movie and from the hotel’s open-air restaurant you can enjoy the view while dining. When I’m back to Prague I will be back here.
Everything from the check in, to the breakfast, to the room service was done at a 5-star, outstanding level. This is not a corporate hotel, it is more unique and interesting. It’s best for travelers who want value service, food, and local flavors.
So very Impressed with the warmest welcome and courtesies extended by staff. Extremely comfortable room and service is one of the best we have experienced in all our travels. Highly recommended for a pampered and comfy stay.
PRAGUE IS OPEN! IF YOU CAN - GO NOW!!! Low crowds and the dollar goes a long way! Golden Well provided me the best hotel experience I’ve had in my half century on this rock. We spent two short evenings in the Tycho Brache Suite, booked “The Romantic Package” and there was NO disappointment. The pictures will speak for themselves and between the room itself, the hospitality, and the view - it’s a great place to stay. Sabina and Marek were superb and were waiting on us whenever we passed through the lobby and offered to take care of anything we needed. While we could have had breakfast at the hotel (we’re one of only two rooms booked at the time); we opted to go to their sister hotel (Aria) as it’s a great way to get out and explore. Aria is a few doors down from the Irish and US Embassies and provided us a great breakfast experience, their garden (A MUST DO), and the rooftop terrace - great for a drink. I’ll have a separate review on Terasa U Zlate Studne (the restaurant above Golden Well) - it’ll be a lot like this one and the dinner as part of the Romantic Package was excellent. When we returned to our room - as was arranged; a hot soak bath was waiting along with fruit, chocolates, candles, and rose petals in the bath and on the bed. If you want to impress your partner - check it out; I promise it will be amazing.…
I booked to stay here with my wife for our first wedding anniversary. Obviously I wanted to impress, and fortunately Golden Well Hotel did not disappoint! The hotel itself has a beautiful and cosy atmosphere, and the staff are incredibly polite and attentive. The restaurant inside the hotel was never too busy and served delicious breakfasts and dinner. The hotel is also very well located within walking distance of many sights and attractions. Would definitely recommend.
This hotel is no doubt excellent in good times. What is harder to achieve, and what it has done, is excel when times are tough. They helped me immensely when they easily could have chose not to do so--a lesser hotel would not have been there for me and my family as they were.I will be forever grateful to them for being an upstanding, honest dealing, and incredibly helpful establishment when they easily could have chosen not to be. That is what separates good hotels from truly great ones. Do not hesitate to book with this hotel They are the genuine article.

The Golden Well is a beautiful, well-appointed hotel that pays attention to all the details. Wonderful staff, beautiful and comfortable accommodations and delicious food. Great location near the castle and gorgeous views from the restaurant. From the treats left with the turn down service to the classical musical softly playing in the lovely room when you arrive the staff makes your visit a real pleasure.
