My mom and I stayed at the Alchymist Nosticova Palace September 15-21. I booked the hotel because I wanted something very special as it was my mother's birthday. We stayed in a junior suite and loved it. The hotel is on a very quiet street in a wonderful location. It was a nice walk to the Charles or Legions bridge... More

Our entire family enjoyed our 8 day stay, in the family suite. Our children are younger, preschool and elementary ages, also enjoyed the experience. We received a warm welcome daily, buffet breakfast, turn down service with homemade chocolates. From the first day and until the last day of our our vacation, our experience was perfect. The palace hotel is centrally... More

There are different Alchymist hotels across the city, all featuring a medieval, knightly style. Nosticova is a small hotel and very conveniently located in the old town close to the embassies, hence safe and all attractions can be reached by foot. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a glass of sparkling wine and fruit platter served in their picturesque garden... More

I had a first floor junior suite for three nights for a work trip. The room was wonderful - charming period decor and I felt like a princess. The receptionists throughout my stay provided support for taxi services, including airport transportation charged to the room, so I didn't have to figure out how to navigate Prague, worry if I'd exchanged... I stayed there for 6 days and I did not like this hotel at all.The only good thing I can say about this hotel is that the reception staff were kind and helpful. Not a fan of the location in the back alleys. Did not have a good view(or a view).Breakfast was bad both quality and variety wise .Air conditioning splits... More

Central location and friendly front desk staff were the positives... Unfortunately it stopped there. We stayed in a junior suite for two nights; the suite was cramped and dated (not period decor, just dated) and the breakfast was woefully underwhelming. We had hoped for a touch of luxury but were confronted we mediocrity of the highest standard. Not sure how... More

My husband and I stayed at the Alchymist Nosticova for 4 nights in Aug 2016 and really enjoyed it. We loved the historic rooms decorated like a palace. They were comfortable and spacious. The night manager (sadly can't remember his name!!) was so great and made our stay. He had awesome recommendations for fun beer halls, nice dinners and tours.... More

Our family of 12 had an absolutely amazing experience at this little hotel. It is situated close to Infant Jesus of Prague church, Charles Bridge, and walking distance to most attraction. It has a quaint and personal touch to it. The staff are always ready to help with a cheerful countenance especially thankful for Louca and Sasha. The breakfast buffet... More

Greeted with champagne which was nice. The property is quaint, clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was very large and beautifully decorated! The breakfast buffet was quite nice. This hotel is off the beaten path but just a couple short blocks to the Charles Bridge, Lennon Wall and the tram stop to the Prague Castle.

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighborhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighborhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighborhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
