We loved our stay here - the hotel is in a quiet street in a lovely part of Prague yet close to all the major attractions. The decor was beautiful and romantic, staff very professional and helpful, excellent breakfast. It felt very peaceful and magical and would definitely stay here again.

What a wonderful hotel. Very centrally located. The gothic room was beautiful. We splurged for the pick up and drop off service. Was well worth it. Staff at the hotel were wonderful. Will definitely be returning.

We picked the hotel thinking it was another in the Alchymist group (it turns out there are 3 in Prague!), but without doubt, we made a wonderful choice. The hotel is in a quiet backstreet 2-3 minutes walk from the Charles Bridge, 5 minutes walk from the funicular up to the Petrin Tower, not far from the castle ... I...

Very interesting hotel built into a several hundred year-old mansion. The facilities are modern and recently renovated, but because it's a historical site there are limitations on what can be done to the interior. Inside the room this meant limited lighting and climate control that wasn't what you would get inside a brand new four star hotel, but the ambiance...

The location of the hotel is perfect. Just 5 minutes by foot from the Charles bridge. On the neighbour street with the Mandarin Oriental hotel. The atmosphere in the hotel is ancient and romantic. Quite and convenient location, among the embassies, close to main Prague attractions, several parks are nearby. ON THE POSITIVE SIDE: - Rare to find old style hotel with bellboy who helps you with luggage and room acknowledgment. - Fancy interior and rooms' design, so you can easily imagine yourself living in old Check's castle. Each room has its own name...

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighborhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighborhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighborhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
