We very much enjoyed our stay here. We had a standard room in the annex but it was roomy and had a good size bathroom with a very nice shower. The bed was very comfortable. There was a little noise outside but this could be eliminated by shutting the window and putting on the air conditioning. The location was absolutely perfect for a short break, literally right next to Charles Bridge. In fact “Pod Vezi” in Czech apparently means “Under the tower” which is the tower at the end of the bridge. You can climb the tower for free if you collect a token from reception and it gives excellent views. Service on reception is friendly and efficient. Breakfasts are very good and we ate in the restaurant one night and had a very good meal. Hotel residents are given a 10% discount. Each day a little gift was left in the room, either biscuits or a bottle of sparkling wine and this was a nice touch. Altogether I can’t imagine there’s a better place to stay in Prague, certainly bearing in mind the very reasonable rates. …
Honestly, amazing. The staff are so helpful with local suggestions and transport tickets. The daily gifts, lovely touch. The location honestly could not be more ideal. Close to everything but rooms are quiet. No street noise at all when windows closed and even open it’s not noisy. Driver the hotel got for us was cost effective and a great guide on the way. (Ask for Mila) Rooms are fab and I’d guess bigger than most in Prague. We stayed in the annex building and it was beautiful. Oh and the restaurant onsite is good too if you don’t want to go far. The Prosecco with Sunday’s breakfast was also a winner for me ;) Little touches that equal a perfect stay.
Quaint boutique hotel located right by the Charles Bridge. Reception staff were very helpful and accommodating. I requested a cake as it was my husband’s 50th birthday, and when we returned to the room after daytime sightseeing there was a beautiful chocolate cake and balloons! Room was fairly comfortable and had all the amenities you would expect - robes, slippers, toiletries, mini bar, kettle and nespresso machine. AC unit was effective, but a portable unit, noisy but cooled the room effectively and there was also a fan. Breakfast was mediocre, and although served until 10:30 we asked for a coffee at 10:35 and were told that it wasn’t possible. I offered to pay but were told they had to close to get ready for lunch. Rather ridiculous. Some of the breakfast staff did try to be helpful, others less so but think there was a bit of a language barrier, and we don’t speak Czech! …
Prague is probably my favourite city in Europe, so from the outset I am undoubtedly easier to impress than most travellers. Even allowing for that, we had a wonderful stay at the Pod Vezi. The staff are amazing, every one of them from reception staff to bar staff to waiters to cleaners were friendly, informative and always going that extra mile to help you enjoy your stay. The room was very comfortable and breakfast was superb, with so much choice we didn't know where to start! The location is central, quiet and perfect for visiting the main areas of this beautiful city. When we return to Prague, which we definitely will, we won't even consider staying anywhere else.
I've previously reviewed 2 other hotel stays in Prague where I've given 5 stars. Therefore I'm left with a predicament. This hotel is superior in all ways to my previous stays. The location is unprecedented. The friendliness and professionalism of staff. The quality of food across the board whether it be breakfast, dinner or a snack in the creperie. The hotel is faultless and extremely reasonable in price for what you are getting. PS the airport transfer organised by the hotel is also recommended. Thanks to all the staff for a lovely break in these challenging times.
