We had a room with spacious bathroom on the second floor of this charming, very slightly but nicely shabby hotel which sits under the castle right near the Czech Senate house with its lovely garden, open to all. The old wooden balconies and outside staircase around the tiny courtyard made one think of medieval inns. Our room was comfortable, with... More

Well, I'm not sure coming back. It's a five minute walk from the metro, to the Charles Bridge, ten minutes from the old center, ten minutes from Hradzany. So, a better location is hard to find. I couldn't hear a thing at night; it's very peaceful. Breakfast is quantitatively more than average, the quality is very good. The staff is... More

We stayed at the Waldstein in August . We arrived at 1pm having been travelling since 2pm and were ready for a good sleep. The receptionist, Natali i think her name was, greeted us warmly, spoke good English and had everything ready for us.Good start. Then we were shown our room, in a sort of annexe with a pile of building... More

This hotel is located in a beautiful square between Waldstein palais and Parlament in one of Prague's most beautiful and historically significant quarters, the Mala Strana, right under the Hradschin castle. It is a historical building converted into a small hotel. If you have an appreciation for architecture and history this is one of the best places to stay in... More

I stayed at this hotel with my daughter on a recent trip to Prague. From the initial booking I had communication regarding a taxi to the hotel. I arrived at the hotel at 11 am and was offered a larger room then booked that was ready for us to use straight away. It was a pleasant and comfortable room that... More

Ok, the negative first. We had a double room on ground floor, 103, which overlooked a small courtyard. Unfortunately the room was so dark that the light had to be on at all times. However once we got over this we found the room very comfortable and cosy. The hotel definitely has old charm. Our bed was so high and... More

Positives Location, staff, room, breakfast all excellent. Good exchange rate and you aren’t going to be given fake money. Hotel arranged a good taxi and not expensive. Our rooms were great (we were on the ground floor annex). Negatives No bath. Refundable deposit required for the activator to work the safe. Wifi could have been better. Tips Hotel is in... More

Staff are super friendly, happy to help and answer any questions asked. The room we stayed in was spacious and the beds very comfy with antique furniture. Only one mirror in the bedroom and its not ideally located, as its just outside the bathroom and had poor lighting. This is a period building and if you like features in a... More

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighborhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighborhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighborhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
