Detailed Reviews
A wonderful modern hotel yet full of character, located in a quiet corner on the cobbled streets just minutes away from Charles Bridge.
We arrived to a warm welcome from Veronica and was quickly checked in to our room. We were a group of 3 adults so had booked the Quadruple Room Deluxe. This turned out to be room 11 which was located out through the small courtyard and up a small wooden staircase to the first floor. The room was amazing .... 2 very spacious double rooms divided by a separate cosy seating area (where we found a lovely welcoming complimentary bottle of wine left for us!).
Each room had it's own mini bar stocked with water, soft drinks, beer and wine, all of which were very reasonably priced. The bathroom was immaculate with a powerful shower, plenty of toiletries and more than enough fluffy towels for everyone.
The whole hotel was absolutely spotless and the beds were extremely comfortable.
Breakfast was served downstairs in the main building between 7am and 10.30am and consisted of virtually everything you could possibly think of having for breakfast! Everything was fresh, looked lovely and tasted great and all the staff were friendly and welcoming.
Hotel Waldstein was in a perfect location for our 5 nights in Prague with everything we wanted to see within walking distance. There were restaurants and shops just around the corner or a 20 minute walk across Charles Bridge took you into the Old Town. The walk back across Charles Bridge in the evening was simply stunning and walking back to the hotel always felt safe.
We went to Prague to celebrate one of our birthdays and just when we thought our stay couldn't get any more perfect, the hotel kindly left a bottle of Prosecco in our room on the actual birthday for us.
Thank you to all at Hotel Waldstein for making our stay in Prague so amazing ..... If we do return to Prague one day we know exactly where we'll be staying again!

A wonderful welcome from the airport, I arranged a taxi via the hotel and this I definitely recommend! Lovely and easy, your name on a sign at arrivals and off you go, good drivers and clean, nice cars. About 22mins drive to hotel. Approximately £25.40 GBP (750 CZ or 31 Euro). Welcome drink at reception was a lovely touch. Room cleanliness is superb. Quality of mattress, just perfect. Choice of pillows, lovely. Free safe in wardrobe and the mini bar was so affordable!! A real treat to be able to indulge and not break the balance. Toiletries are natural. Lots of attention to detail here.
The receptionists are wonderful at their jobs, nothing is too much trouble at all. Breakfast is terrific, Prosecco if you like😜 too. (The breakfast staff could smile and say hello, that's my only criticism here).
Location is quiet, in Lesser town, basically surrounded by Embassies and Parliament buildings, right under Prague Castle and yet only 20 mins walk over the bridge into the town centre. It's like staying in London, Prime Minister's Number 10 Downing Street area in a way. Located near to great restaurants too.
The only downside was how noisy guests can be, but being polite and aware of others in a respectful manner is less and less so with today's public. People do bang doors and stomp around in their rooms above you with no consideration for those who have paid to stay below them. But just phone 100 for reception and they will sort it right out for you, no problem. The front of house staff are very polite, caring and respectful.
I had a lovely stay and just want to say a big thank you to Alena!

We stayed at a hotel Waldstein as a family of 5 - 2 adults and 2 children for 4 nights in a quadruple room (room 11) and an adult in a double room (room 13). The rooms were exactly as pictured on the website and were very clean, comfy and spacious. Room 11 was on the first floor directly above the main door to the hotel so had windows overlooking the small square /car park at the front and it’s door opened into a landing overlooking the inner courtyard with a bench to sit on. For the most part it was very quiet but we did find that each morning at around 6-6:30am something in the car park woke the adults up (kids slept through it though), sometimes it was a bin lorry, other times a car or van, but it was brief and we soon got back to sleep.
The hotel is located in a lovely part of Prague in Lesser Town. It’s just beneath Prague castle and a short walk to Charles Bridge and over the river to Old Town. There’s also a tram stop just down the road which was very handy (day tickets for the tram are sold in the hotel reception). We found this area of Prague quieter and calmer than the centre of Prague and perfect for families.
The 24 hour reception is in the Three Storks hotel just around the corner and when we first arrived we got complimentary drinks from the bar while we were checked in. The lady on reception (unfortunately I didn’t get her name) was very friendly and very helpful with suggestions for what we could do during our visit.
Breakfast was included in a fab cave-like room on the lower floor. It’s not very big with few tables so it was always quite busy when we were there (between 9 and 9:30) but as a family of 5 we always found somewhere to sit. There is plenty of choice, including cooked breakfast (sausage, scrambled, fried and boiled eggs, beans or vegetables and either hash browns or bacon), meats and cheeses, cereals, yoghurts, fruit, pastries and even Prosecco to drink! The lady working there all week (Romana) was great, keeping all the food topped up, clearing plates and tables, and always had a friendly hello and goodbye.
We were really impressed with this hotel and would definitely stay here again if we came back to Prague.

My sister and I stayed at Hotel Waldstein in a family room for three nights. This was my third visit to Prague and this was definitely the best hotel out of my three visits. It is a beautiful old building which has been restored and renovated with a modern twist. the reception is in the Three Storks Hotel which is just around the corner and when we checked in it was a most pleasant experience. We were offered a welcome drink and made to feel very comfortable. Helena who was on reception was a lovely lady. Very friendly and helpful and gave us all the information we required. Her colleague (unfortunately I can't remember his name) helped us with our cases round to the Hotel Waldstein which is in a lovely cobbled courtyard. Our family room was on the first floor and had beautiful vaulted ceilings. The beds were very comfortable and we had everything we needed. The hotel is so quiet and peaceful yet only about a 10 minute walk from Charles Bridge. The price of our stay included breakfast which was buffet style and the breakfast room was in the cellar of the building. It was just magical, so full of character. It was spotlessly clean and the choice was very good. The lady in charge was lovely and very attentive. I would highly recommend staying at Hotel Waldstein for the location of the hotel, the staff were fabulous, the hotel was quite unique and the breakfast was lovely. On the morning we were leaving we had an early departure so Helena organised for us to get breakfast boxes which were great.

Overall such a great hotel in such a great location. Easy walk to Charles Bridge (5 min), Prague Castle (7 min), Astronomical Clock (15 min) etc.
Everything was spotlessly clean and the rooms were very modern and stylish while preserving some historic elements of the old building. The breakfast was a basic self serve buffet but pretty good - meats, cheese, some warm options (eggs, bacon, potato hash browns), coffee, lots of fruit with decent variety.
Some tips for in room improvement: free water (not for a fee from the mini bar) in the room would be considered a standard, especially across all European cities I’ve visited. Also real in room coffee would be nice instead of instant, but by no means a deal breaker.
Finally, at check in we received a free alcoholic or non alcoholic welcome beverage of our choice which was really nice. One small issue: although trying to be informative the woman who checked us in was a bit pushy about booking tours (ie, walking tour, medieval dinner experience, boat tour), telling us repeatedly we had only about 45 minutes to decide if we wanted to go before she wasn’t able to help us book. I appreciate the information but just a bit tough to make a decision while I have all my bags from the airport and haven’t had a chance to get settled yet.

We spent a night on our business trip in this stylish hotel. It was great experience and we are happy to return for an extended stay. If you want to explore Prague Old Town, Castle or any other historical monuments, location of the property cannot be more convenient, everything is within a walking distance. Hotel is nicely renovated, cosy and providing comfort you need at the end of a busy day. What we appreciated the most is the service we received by Helena and her colleagues, really professional and helpful. All employees we met during our short stay made us feel welcome, thank you! When coming back to Prague this is going to be the hotel of our choice.

Absolutely beautiful hotel in a great location. The room was spacious and kept very clean. Towels changed and bed remade every day. Safe available to keep valuables in also. We checked in in the early hours of the morning and the man on reception couldn’t have been more cheerful and helped carry our bags up to the room.
Hotel within walking distance from most attractions and landmarks. Also very close to tram stops for less walkable activities. The hotel gave the option to book taxis to and from the hotel: however, we didn’t use this service.
We booked as a bed and breakfast. Food was great, continually replenished and cooked to perfection. While there were fruit, cereal, pastry, and hot food options, the choice of food was slightly limited and the same each morning.
Overall a brilliant stay and would definitely visit this hotel again.

We spent 3 nights at Hotel Waldstein and would stay again in a heart beat. Myself and my partner were greeted with a complimentary drink (beer and a Prosecco) which we enjoyed in the lobby of the partner hotel next door to the Waldstein. We were then taken to our room, a family suite, which was a bargain at £225 including breakfast.
One of the staff members carried our suitcase which was really appreciated. The room was spacious, modern and extremely comfortable. The main room consisted of a large double bed, sofa, TV, large wardrobe, safe, mini bar, desk. There is a separate part of the room that consists of two single beds and a TV. Both rooms have their own modern bathrooms.
The breakfast was extensive, delicious and set in a 14th century (I think) cellar. The lady that was running breakfast was warm and welcoming, doing a great job of looking after the guests.
The hotel is set in a peaceful surrounding, within a 5 minute walk of Malistranská tram station, a 10 minute walk of Prague Castle and 15 minute walk from the old town. It is a fantastic location to explore both sides of the river and suitable to all ages.
We ended the trip with another complimentary drink from the bar, provided by the lovely staff that work at the hotel.
I would advise anybody considering a trip to Prague to choose Hotel Waldstein. You will not be disappointed!

Located with views of the Castle, on a quiet street three blocks from transportation.
I liked the photo of the room offered on Booking and got another one. Bigger perhaps but not with the charm of the wooden beamed ceiling and stone walls that I had seen.
I didn't like the room at all, it had an 80's feel. Although it was spacious and comfortable, with windows, good shelves for clothes and a safe deposit box that we used without any problems.
The hotel hallways are bright, clean and pleasant, made of marble or similar cream-colored material.
The bathroom was correct and clean. With toiletries and vanity items, as well as a reminder to ask for what you needed if you had forgotten something.
Clean towels of standard quality (some older than others).
The double bed had 2 mattresses, one good, the other uncomfortable, clean sheets.
There was a minibar provided to pay and a Nespresso coffee machine with cream, sugar, etc. Courtesy.
Breakfast was very good. Quite a variety, self-squeezed orange juice, automatic coffee with several options.
We stayed for 2 days and moved to another hotel on the other side of the Charles Bridge that I liked better. In case you want to see it, it was called Eurostar Thalía.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Waldstein! Our 4-bed room was big enough and even had a connecting room with a seating area between the two double rooms. The location in the Lesser Town district was particularly perfect - just a few minutes' walk to the Charles Bridge, 10 minutes' walk to Prague Castle and 7 minutes' walk to the nearest subway station. And much quieter than hotels in the Old Town - you could easily leave the windows open at night. The breakfast was good too - so what more could you want?!
