Archibald At The Charles Bridge hotel receives acclaim for its clean, comfortable rooms and the inclusion of a complimentary breakfast with both hot and cold options, as well as a handy light lunch service. Guests have called out the hotel's cleanliness and diligent housekeeping, ensuring a spotless environment.
While the decor's reflection of local culture adds to the atmosphere, some suggest it could be more imaginative. The hotel's prime location near Prague's Charles Bridge is a highlight for guests, although opinions on value and service vary, with a few travelers feeling services could better meet expectations for the price.

Detailed Reviews
We stayed for three nights here in first week of January. The hotel location is amazing with just five minutes walk to Charles Bridge from where one can walk down to old town. The Prague castle is 15 to 20 minutes either by walking or tram. For public transport tram station is five minutes by walk and metro station is around ten minutes by walk. The airport is around half an hour from the hotel.
The room we stayed had a window opening towards the river giving fantastic views in morning. The room had all amenities one would need during the stay and there was nothing to fault. The housekeeping deserves to be praised. In spite of leaving room a bit in mess in morning it used to perfectly made when we were back in evening. We loved the restaurant decor. The breakfast was good. Will definitely recommend to stay here..!!

This is my fifth visit to Prague and this is the best hotel we’ve stayed at. Hotel is next to Charles Bridge - not even 50m away - I could see the bridge and the river from our room. Room was well appointed with safe, bathtub, heated towel rail, etc. The beds are the comfiest we’ve slept in for a long time in a hotel. As well our room was spotless, and the WiFi signal was really strong. Staff are really friendly and helpful. The breakfast is included in the room rate and so is brunch from 12-18h. The astronomical clock is less than 15 min away at a leisurely walk and so is the castle. Will definitely come back

We had a fantastic stay at the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good with lots of vegetarian options available (And snacks were also available throughout the day) and the location was so convenient. It was a five minute walk to the Charles Bridge and Lennon Wall and within walking distance of all the main attraction sites in Prague 1. We were also able to store our luggage at the hotel after checkout and had some good views across the river from our hotel window. Highly recommend this hotel, it's ideal for tourists!

As Swedish citizens we're not allowed to enter the Czech Republic and Czech Airlines have cancelled our flights.
I understand the hotels need for cash during the pandemic, but it still leaves a bitter taste that we will need to pay for a hotel visit which will not happen, and not on any fault on our side, but all due to the (understandable) decision by the Czech government not to allow Swedish citizens in.
In short we're paying for hotel and flight services to Czech companies which the Czech government forbids us to use, and none of the companies agrees to refund us.

I came back from this hotel just yesterday and thought it was lovely! We were emailed about a day before we flew with the option to upgrade our room for £15 which we did. When we arrived we were told that they did have a riverside view room available, but wanted to give us a better one which would be available in half an hour. We were happy to wait and the view was exceptional! If you can, stay in room 22 ;) You will not be disappointed.
The room itself is gorgeous with beams going all across the ceiling and the rooms are huge!
The only reason I didn't give this hotel 5 stars is because the breakfast choices were pretty slim... and the inclusive 'snacks' that you can help yourself to all day consisted of just lettuce and croutons, or some small pastries - so this wasn't great, but otherwise lovely staff, amazing views and gorgeous rooms!
Would happily stay here again.

The hotel itself is very nice, amazing location, comfy beds, good bathroom, and nice views over looking the river. The first 3 days of the trip were great and no complaints about the hotel, however this changed when when our fire alarm was triggered whilst I was in the shower one evening.
This resulted in the receptionist coming to check our room which of course was the right thing to do and we explained it was a false alarm and the fire service came to double check this.
Over the following days we were HARASSED and THREATENED by staff who accused us of smoking in the room and that we needed to pay a €100 fine for the fire service being called out.
This was dealt with in an unprofessional manner with staff not listening to us and only focusing on the fine and not their customer service as we obviously refused to pay the fine as we had not been smoking in the room!
Easily the worst experience I’ve had in a hotel and if your planning on staying here be wary of using the shower or spraying deodorant or you may find firemen at your door and demands of a €100 fine……..

Dear MathewbZ5626ML, thank you very much for your feedback. It´s great that you were fully satisfied with all our services. Unfortunately, conclusions of our proper internal investigation with assistance of Fire Department does not correspond with your description at all. For your information, it is a crime in our country repeatedly and unreasonably trigger the fire alarm in public buildings. Same as smoking is forbidden in all hotel rooms. I was finally able to do a road trip across East Europe (after Covid cancellations). This hotel was in the perfect location in Prague. Easy walking distance to all the popular sites. We had a top floor room (high ceilings, exposed beams, sky windows) with a small window river view of the Charles Bridge, which was very close to walk to. Room was quiet. Front desk staff was very helpful, parking was close (we had to pay the hotel about $20(US) a day). Breakfast was one of the best here versus all of our other stops. There was a mixture of hot and cold food in a unique cave type dining area. I would easily choose this place again when coming back!

Loved staying here! The location was perfect, a short walk to old town square but less busy on this side of the river. Lots of nice restaurants around, and also close to Prague castle. The streets and neighbourhood were super cute and safe. The room was spacious and comfortable, and was cleaned promptly and thoroughly everyday. The breakfast was good and there was free ‘brunch’ (soup, pastries, salad, bread, etc) from 12-6pm. Would definitely stay here again if I came back to Prague. Only negative is noise from the hallway and wifi didn’t work in our room about half the time.

I had a view of the Charles Bridge from my window! The whole building smelled really good and I just wanted to stay in my room, looking at the bridge from my window. The hotel offered free food and coffee in the afternoon, which was really convenient (just stop by for snacks between activities). The building is historic and has an interesting architecture. The room is quite nicely decorated and I really like the sliding door between the entrance area and the bedroom. The bed was comfortable. The location is excellent for both the castle area and the old town. I think it was really good for the price.

Hello, one parking permission can be reserved for you if available and requested before arrival. It costs 20 EUR/car/night and it is possible to park on blue lines of Prague 1. Please, contact 24/7 hotel reception or our Reservation Department for detailed information. Kindly, Ondrej
Hello, thank you for your question. Yes, on request delivered to us before date of arrival we can provide also gluten-free option for breakfast. Kindly, Ondrej
So the best way I can say is either taxi (no idea that price), or buy your tram tickets and download a couple of transportation apps. The tickets can be bought for different lengths of time, and if you are spending any significant amount of time I highly recommend getting those. They are good for the time period listed, i.e. 24 hours starts from when you validate, not calendar day.
As for transportation apps, I use Moovit and Metro. Between the two it’s worked well for us so far. You put in where you’d like to go, use current location for starting point, and then click the option you’d like. Pay close attention to if you have to switch lines, mode (bus, walk) and then just hop on and go.

Kingston-upon-Hull, United Kingdom563 contributions56 helpful votesHi, what is the best way to reach the hotel from the airport via public transport? I'll be travelling solo so a taxi would probably be too expensive. Thanks.
On leaving the airport, catch the no.119 bus to its terminus. At the terminus, take the metro A line heading towards Malostranska (4 stops). On leaving the metro turn right and follow the signs for Archibald bridge. The hotel is virtually next to the bridge in the square where the market stalls are. Get a 90 minute tickets which costs Czk 32, about £1.20. Hope this helps.
The buffet breakfast is from around 07:00 to around 10:00.
