Hotel Julian is a charming smallish hotel in a wonderful location, walking distance to Charles Bridge and Old Town, but away from the chaos and millions of tourists. It is one block from the trolley. My room was spacious and very comfortable, and there is a lovely rooftop lounge area for relaxing and enjoying a nice view. The front desk staff is friendly and could not be more helpful, especially Marcela. They can book tours for you and advise on restaurants, directions, and whatever you need. The breakfast is fabulous! I am so glad I stayed here!!

Hotel's Favorite
We booked a family trip from California to visit our daughter who relocated to Prague. We decided based on the reviews to book our stay at the hotel Julian. We were delighted to find the accommodations greatly above the norm. The hotel itself is very clean, well-kept, elegantly decorated, where exceptionally arranged furnishings, adornments and artwork Creating an atmosphere of relaxation and historic depth. Each member of the staff we encountered was extremely friendly, accommodating of requests, helpful and receptive when we sought Suggestions for local activities and attractions. Also, the morning breakfast was very well prepared and provided many choices of meats, eggs, cheeses, vegetables, fruits, juices and coffee… enough variety to suit any appetite, including delicious pastries and other sundries to satisfy the sweet tooth. You can even take your breakfast up to a quiet and comfortably arranged rooftop terrace that affords excellent views of the castle, cathedral, local architecture and much of the surrounding town. Oh, and a cool bronze statue of I don’t know who that you can sit next to and pour your life story out to. The hotel is centrally located and within walking distance of a major metro hub. Walking alone or in groups either during the day or at night felt perfectly safe at all times and there was always an individual at the main desk day or night to respond to any need. Finally, room service was absolutely on top of any request, whether it be to stay away for a day or for something special, like an extra pillow or a refill on the coffee packets! This was our first trip to Prague and because of Ivana and Marcella, who greeted us daily and nightly at the main desk when we were coming or going, we would certainly recommend the Hotel Julian to friends and family or to the traveler looking for a centralized, affordable, clean and pleasant spot.

I am very happy you liked the hotel as well as provided service by our members and during breakfast. Oh right, the statue is always a "good friend" , you can tell it what you want and you can be sure it will be kept as a secret:-). Thank you for the recommendation and mentioning Ivana and Marcela, they fell happy about your words. Take care and hope to see you soon again! Best regards Radka Římalová Sales manager

The hotel is what I would consider a "boutique" hotel. Its located on a small side street around the block from a busier street that has some restaurants, small grocery store, and public tram bus service. Your a short distance from the popular Mala Strana park where you will find Petrins Lookout Tower. Popular with locals and tourists. The free breakfast is nice and well stocked. The lobby area is quaint with nice decor. The hotel building is apparently around 200 years old. There is a small open rooftop lounge area for chilling with not much of a view but nice for evenings or eating breakfast there. Rooms are nicely remodeled and comfortably furnished. Your just about 4 quick tram stops from where most people enter area and get off for Prague castle or Lesser Town , and Charles Bridge, which proceeds to "Old Town". I like that it feels like your in a neighborhood that's not in the busy tourist area. A nice mall and metro train station is just 2 tram stops from hotel in opposite direction. A special shutout to the hotel staff working the front desk area. Always friendly and willing to help with questions relating to public transportation, tourist attractions, local culture etc. This review coming from someone who worked in a customer service type job for 36 years which involved a lot of travel and living out of hotels.

We didn’t have any expectations when we arrived out at the front of Hotel Julian but on reflection after our stay, our experience at the hotel certainly exceeded our expectations. Staff were exceptionally friendly and took time on our arrival to explain how we could maximise our enjoyment during our stay during a complementary drink. Our room was clean light and comfortable. The bathroom was modern and clean. Breakfast was excellent - plenty of options to try in a buffet style and replenished frequently. The hotel was quiet to reside in and the roof top was a delight to return to after a day of exploring.

I can't emphasize enough how great our stay at Hotel Julian was. We were greeted by Marcella who offered us a drink on arrival and explained the best way to pay in Prague and pointed out the main things to see around the hotel. The room was cosy and clean, the beds were very comfortable, and the airconditioning allowed us to cool off after walking around in the city for the entire day. Breakfast was basic but sufficient, and we could take it up to the rooftop terrace, which was quiet and had a nice view. Location in Malá Strana couldn't be better. The hotel is right next to a tramline which will take you from and to the airport, and pretty much anywhere in the city. We recommend crossing Legion Bridge (better view than the famous Charles Bridge and not crowded with tourists) and walking as much as you can, though! Everyone is very kind an helpful, and we would definitely come back here.

Excellent experience as every expectation was either matched or surpassed. Welcome drink...marvellous room....abundant choice of quality food at breakfast....peaceful rooftop terrace.....ideal location with "flat" walk to the tourist attractions. Luggage storage on departure and another complimentary drink as it was my wife's birthday during the stay.....Marcela on reception ensured every aspect was covered as she arranged an airport transfer and allowed us to enjoy the facilities of the hotel even though we had effectively checked out. Considering a Christmas markets visit in 2024 and Hotel Julian would be our go to place.

Hotel Julian is #1 ! We have stayed at many hotels in Europe, and Hotel Julian is the best that we have stayed at. There is peace and quietness in the area, but the tram is only around the corner. A small tesco express is a 3 min walk away. A large shopping mall with a Super Tesco M&S, etc is 8 min walk away. Park, 3 mins walk away, Charles bridge 15 min walk. Rooftop terrace is very quiet, not even traffic is heard up there. Quiet and clean rooms too! Breakfast is huge and varied and amazing. We had an early departure and they made us breakfast to go bags! Taxi was called for us, and all questions and answers and recommendations were outstanding! Hotel amenities were great, beds were comfy, various pillows, and laminate flooring, so, no dirty carpets! Housekeeping was excellent, too. All in all, absolutely no complaints, only praise! Don’t look any further, Hotel Julian is the one you want to stay at!

Hotel Julian may not be centrally located but it is a adorable boutique hotel not far from the Castle complex and also the Dancing house. It is a charming hotel with responsive hosts. Very comfortable beds, quite streets and well appointed rooms. The only negative thing is the shower /tub is very deep and for some of a short stature it is a challenge to enter/exit safely. The breakfast buffet is very European with meets, cheeses, vegatables, and pastry, as well as yogurt, cerals, and an assortment of beverages. They have a cute roof top terrace where you can order a drink from the desk and take up to the terrace for a quiet time. They are also in the Rick Steves guidebook so if you mention that they will give you a discount. We would highly recommend Hotel Julian and would stay again if coming to Prague.
