Design hotel Theatrino is located in the city centre, in a quiet residential area of Prague. The historical centre of Prague can be reached easily by public transportation or on foot. There is a tram station only 1 minutes away from the hotel and to reach the nearest metro station is a ten-minute walk. In the vicinity of the hotel you will find a number of shops and restaurants, fashionable shopping mall Flora as well as the New Žižkov Cemetery, where Franz Kafka, the world-famous writer, is buried. Don't miss the unique view of Prague from the near Žižkov TV tower either from its restaurant (66 m) or the observation deck (93m).

Detailed Reviews
I travelled to Prague on my own for a few days break after Christmas and chose the Hotel Theatrino based on very positive reviews by previous visitors. What a fabulous hidden gem this hotel is!! The staff are warm and welcoming and this small, quirky hotel is absolutely gorgeous. Like many places in Prague the architecture is fascinating but this one is based in a converted theatre ( hence the name) and the dining room and bar are in the old auditorium. High ceilings, beautiful architraves and other features make this place really interesting. The rooms are comfortable, clean and well furnished and I was pleasantly surprised after 2 days to be offered an upgrade to a larger room on the 4th floor. Breakfast was fresh and varied and all staff were very pleasant. Although slightly 'out of the way' it is only 30 mins walk to Wenceslas Square, and also to the famous Charles Bridge and Jewish quarter. The castle is around 45 minutes on foot. However for anyone with reduced mobility, the number 5, 9 and 15 trams run past the front of the hotel every few minutes and the tickets are incredibly cheap at 1€ per trip or 5€ for a 24 hour pass. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would recommend the Hotel Theatrino for anyone visiting Prague who wants a hotel of character at an incredibly cheap price.

Booked through Easyjet holidays which included flighta nd accommodation, drawn by the quiet location and also that the hotel had a sauna/ steam room.
Hotel was clean, and located short stroll from, Lipanska tram stop, only a few stops into town.
Breakfast was good in lovely surroundings of an old theatre hence the name of the hotel.
The only disappointment was the cost of the sauna /steam at 600 kronor for a hour (£25) as it was a private session.
Couple of nice small pubs around the hotel for a night cap on way back from the city.
Pizzalab is a new pizza place just opened near the tram stop which was good

Overall, we enjoyed our stay here, although getting your bags up the stairs as soon as you walk in isn't the most fun when you're exhausted from traveling. The concierge was a great assistance in helping us navigate the city and get tickets for events, and taxis. We found out the hard way that you want them to call ahead of time and negotiate for you or you are at the mercy of the drivers. The breakfast buffet was tasty, and although the rooms were a little small, we didn't mind as we didn't spend much time in them. Our shower was cramped, and I say this is someone of average height and size.

The moment we entered the room smoke smell hit us slightly and kept on increasing we called and complained, all the front staff said was we shall inform housekeeping. Public parking is available nearby very good selection of breakfast which catered more to the sweet tooth, the breakfast room was dramatic and felt like we were in a theatre as the name suggested. The wifi was really horrible though. We were double charged for the room and only after we told them did they realise that and ofcourse they gave us our money back. The room was clean and had standard facilities but the front staff during check in was a bit rude.
i rate it poor because i could not sleep the whole night since the room literally was smelling like cigarettes despite being a non smoking room

+1
We stayed at this hotel for a total of 8 nights. The parking was a bit of a challenge since there weren't many spots when we arrived but we found one a bit around the corner.
The check in was easy and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was nice enough and with everything you could really need. The mini bar is actually rather affordable for a change.
The breakfast at the hotel was great. Lots to chose from, sweet and savory, and the room it is served in is absolutely stunning.
The bar is rather nice too and offers drinks and small snacks.
Right outside the hotel is a tram stop which gets you quick and easy into the old Town and around the city. You have plenty of places to eat nearby and a supermarket is also around the corner.
The wellness we did not use so I can't say anything about the quality of that.
There were a few things though that will make me chose a different hotel next time, like the broken and cheaply fixed up bathtub, stains on the bedsheets and towels, the hairdryer which almost started burning and the dust in places I guess they think noone sees. And coming up the stairs onto the first floor landing you pretty much are in the spare bed storage which kinda makes you feel like you took the wrong way.
But over all we had a nice enough stay for the week we were there

A great hotel with all the amenities you need for a city stay. Well connected with the tramline just a few meters away, also a walking distance from the lovely Vinohrady neighbourhood. Our fourth floor, front facing room was quiet enough and very comfortable. The breakfast served in the morning was also great, even vegan-friendly to some extent. Overall, the price-quality ratio of the hotel is good, would recommend to anyone looking for a great, affordable stay while exploring Prague :)

Over rated hotel. As soon as we got here, we were needing a shower after travelling all day, the shower was boiling hot and would not go to cold. We asked if someone could sort it or if we could move rooms so we are able to get one. Behind the desk the guy said ‘oh that’s strange, nothing we can do tonight’. Not really acceptable.
The breakfast was average: needs more variety of ‘full breakfast’ to cater to everyone’s needs.
Rooms were cleaned but very old, in need of an update. Floor boards really noisy and a big step to get out of bed which was quite dangerous.
Serves drinks from 7pm, they were really nice and made well!
Staff unhelpful and quite rude when raising an issue that needed sorting.
Will not be returning.

Stayed at the Hotel Theatrino very clean, fantastic staff, well worth the money. Get a travel pass from the front desk you can ride the tram at the bottom of the street, which goes every10min to the city centre. 2 small pubs to the left and right of the front door both worth a night cap.

Nice hotel and great value for money. Breakfast included was a treat, and Tatjana was friendly and helpful. Very easily connected to the centre by tram at the end of the road and receptionists were helpful for information.

Great stay at Hotel Theatrino. It is out of town but very easy to get tram into centre just 5 min walk away and run very frequently. Room was cleaned every day and had everything we needed: safe, hairdryer, fridge, good shower.
Breakfast was served in the old impressive theatre space, good continental selection and also some cooked items too. A few bars in the local area, we tried one with good beer on the corner if you turn left as you go out of the hotel entrance. Would stay here again as much cheaper than the city centre hotels

Get the airport bus119 to the metro station Nádraží Veleslavín (line A – green).
Get on the metro heading for Depo Hostivar.
Get off at Jiriho Z Podebrad and walk 10mins to the hotel. Hope that helps.
We used public transport, which is very near. My bet would be 30 min
