I stayed here from 10-12 September 2021 and checked out this morning. This has to be one of the unfriendliest hotels I have ever had the misfortune to stay in. When I arrived at the hotel on Friday night around 11pm there was no one on reception. I was ringing the bell and telephoning the hotel for ten minutes. Finally a woman came still scoffing her face. No apology. I checked in. That night I returned from a a nightclub around 5am. I had to ring a bell to get in. Strange. It felt like a prison. The same sour-faced receptionist was furious that I was ringing the bell to get into the hotel where I was staying and which I payed over 100€ for a 2-day stay. The next morning I arrived at 10.15am for breakfast. Breakfast is advertised until 10.30pm. No bread, no yogurt, almost no milk. I was told “you’re too late it’s all gone” in the most rude manner. The only thing left was some smelly sloppy egg concoction. The following night I returned from the same nightclub around 4am. The same grumpy sour-faced receptionist just looked me up and down so I did the same placing my hand on my hip. Awful woman! I checked out and it was again an unfriendly process. None of the staff I encountered were pleasant. I felt like I stayed in the local Gulag for 2 nights. I WILL NEVER STAY AT THE AMETYST PRAGUE HOTEL EVER AGAIN!

This hotel is very nice and clean. The staff was very communicative, helpful and smiling. Breakfasts were really good, there was a huge choice of meals. When I asked if there will be more croissants for the breakfast, the waiter checked it immediately, asked the cooker to prepare them and informed me about it right away. Coffee was delicious. Room was big and our king size bed was really comfortable. The hotel is close to the city center by tram - about 10 minutes. Nearby the hotel there are many bars with Czech beer, there's also Billa 5-10 minutes on foot. I'd really like to come there in the future! There weren't however any options for vegans for the breakfast.

I stayed here whilst visiting family. Could not fault it. Very clean, excellent service, friendly staff. Everything you need in your room. Very quiet area. Parking if needed. Tram stop nearby to go into the centre. Lovely restaurants nearby.

Despite booking a Deluxe Double, we didn't end up in the beautiful grey themed rooms of the photos and may have paid the extra money for nothing. Note, the grey themed rooms are on the 5th and 6th floors but I have no idea which room type one books. The breakfast was actually pretty terrible. There was no buffet and we were served a small plate of watery eggs, overdone bacon and cheap sausages with only white bread (not toast). If you can do the room without breakfast, that might be worth it. Despite booking a double we had 2 single duvets. Upon calling reception we were told the doubles are all on the locked floors with no offer of service at all. Not exactly the best beginning to a romantic getaway. However, the staff were very friendly and they did give us some complimentary champagne for our anniversary. <3
