This hotel is very nice and clean. The staff was very communicative, helpful and smiling. Breakfasts were really good, there was a huge choice of meals. When I asked if there will be more croissants for the breakfast, the waiter checked it immediately, asked the cooker to prepare them and informed me about it right away. Coffee was delicious. Room was big and our king size bed was really comfortable.
The hotel is close to the city center by tram - about 10 minutes. Nearby the hotel there are many bars with Czech beer, there's also Billa 5-10 minutes on foot.
I'd really like to come there in the future!
There weren't however any options for vegans for the breakfast.

The hotel is located in a quiet street, not far from the center, from transport, and main attractions. Our room was cozy and clean. Friendly staff. Breakfast is really good, everybody can find something to their liking.

Despite booking a Deluxe Double, we didn't end up in the beautiful grey themed rooms of the photos and may have paid the extra money for nothing. Note, the grey themed rooms are on the 5th and 6th floors but I have no idea which room type one books.
The breakfast was actually pretty terrible. There was no buffet and we were served a small plate of watery eggs, overdone bacon and cheap sausages with only white bread (not toast). If you can do the room without breakfast, that might be worth it.
Despite booking a double we had 2 single duvets. Upon calling reception we were told the doubles are all on the locked floors with no offer of service at all. Not exactly the best beginning to a romantic getaway.
However, the staff were very friendly and they did give us some complimentary champagne for our anniversary. <3

We were very satisfied with our room because it was clean and perfumed, lightened and modern, very comfortable. The staff is very kind and the hotel is in a very quiet zone, served with many restaurants and locals. It's about 30 minutes from the old town (walking) and about 30 minutes from the airport (by car). The only thing we did not appreciated a lot was the breakfast, maybe because we are used to have a sweet one and the proposal was more salted. Besides the orange juice and the cakes were not very good basing on our taste, but it's a very personal opinion.

I stayed here with my boyfriend for 3 nights over the Christmas period and we had a lovely time. The rooms are very stylish, comfortable and spacious, following a revamp in 2015. The bathroom was also very modern with a great shower.
I would definitely recommend upgrading to the deluxe room as these are exceptionally better than the superior. The superior rooms are slightly older and have not been renovated.
The hotel breakfast was great with plenty of choice and tasty food.
The staff in the hotel were also quite friendly. My only issue with the hotel is the location as it was slightly far out from the old town and there is quite a lot of traffic on route if you decide to take a taxi.
Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel!

Good points are it’s in a quiet area and it’s economical, it’s clean and has a good breakfast. But it also seems to attract youth groups who kept me awake until the early hours of the morning running and shouting in the corridor till 2am. The shower room and toilet are tiny. And I’m worried about having an electric hair dryer above the wash basin, wouldn’t be allowed in the UK by law. At the weekend we had student’s on reception so asking for a plug was the wash basin was a waste of time, make sure you bring a plug! . It’s about ten minutes walk to the Metro. Ok if you want somewhere to sleep but not a lot of character. Younger people or families will be happy here.

We stayed here at the beginning of november..
The staff was polite and helpful on reception telling us many local points to see and giving directions and extra pillows.
Breakfast had enough choice to be satisfied. Fruit, cheese, and salad were all good and fresh. Yoghurt and a selection teas, and coffees. Delicious sweets like croissants and cake.
The rooms were clean if a little basic, although had everything inc a safe, tea, coffee, minibar, the bed was comfortable.
Fairly quiet hotel and area, one or two bars, one pizza restaurant. About a 20 min journey into the center, 10 mins walk and a tram.
Would recommend Prague airport transfers for best value and speed getting to this hotel and would recommend hotel.

Just back from a 5 night stay at the Ametyst. The area surrounding the hotel is very quiet, quite a respite from the busy city centre. The staff are all very helpful, most speaking very good English, and the service was great. I upgraded to a balcony room on the 6th floor, which was really comfortable (the only down side being that the lift only goes to the 5th floor). There was a decent choice for breakfast, and plenty of it. It's a 20+ minute walk to the city centre, with lots of trams running on that route (Number 6) to cut that time down. Great place to stay.

Just back from a five night stay at this hotel and can't recommend highly enough. Beautiful modern room and excellent customer service. I love this area of Prague away from the busy tourist areas, but a leisurely stroll or public transport will soon have you in the centre. Breakfast included in price is adequate and there are many bars and restaurants within a short distance. Real gem of a hotel.

We paid for superior rooms extra to my travel agent.
Room no.112 which does not look like star category compared to prices paid.. It's on road side with big tree on windows, can't see anything.
Bathroom was too small & slippery.
Room walls are thin and you can hear lots of noise from next Room.
Hotel is 15 minutes walk from IP Pavlova metro Station and hop on hop off stop.
No.3 CNN English Channel doesn't work for my 3 night stay for which I requested many times.
No facility to warm up food.
My room has do not disturb sign & still house keeping opened our room for cleaning. Which I don't like & complaint to reception.
Breakfast was good, but limited options for vegetarian.
Overall not satisfied.

Dear yogeshd816, First of all, we would like to thank you for the time dedicated to this feedback. We value all our customer's reviews in order to improve our services. We're very sorry to hear that you were overall dissatisfied with your stay in hotel Ametyst. Our Superior rooms present a standard category rooms with optional windows into the courtyard or into the street, as well as bathtub or shower in the bathroom, upon request. For a more comfortable next stay we would be happy to offer you either Deluxe or Executive room with balcony - those have undergone a renovation and are located on higher floors with optional city view. We would also like to apologise one more time if our housekeeping entered the room despite the do no disturb sign and that there were minor troubles with the TV signal during your stay. On the other hand, it's nice to hear the you found our breakfast buffet good as it offers a selection of a bit of everything. Despite your unfortunate rating of hotel Ametyst we hope that you had otherwise a great time in Prague itself. It would be our pleasure to welcome you back in our hotel so that we could make up for your first experience. With kind regards, Nikola Filipová Hotel Ametyst Prague

We got the public transport to the centre and walked to the hotel. Train then bus and a short walk. Just make sure you validate your travel ticket as you get on the public transport.

Hi everything is all in walking distance. There is a tram stop just around the corner about 5-10 min walk from the hotel where you will find many tram stops in one place to take you where you need to go. Charles Bridge and the Old clock tower in the square are all near each other and a tram actually takes you on route towards it all. Kind of goes in one big circle bringing you back too. You must pay for the trams at a little ticket office near the trams as there is no purchasing on them. You will be fined if you don't buy as the ticket man randomly jumps on and he just fines you regardless of reason if caught. We jumped on the tram and actually walked back all through the town back to the hotel. It took about 30 mins but when walking and taking in the sights you really don't notice.
