It is a very average hotel within a spooky neighborhood. I didn't like the location at all however it is close to train and tram stations and within 20 minutes walk from the old town of Prague and Charles bridge which is good. Otherwise it is a very old hotel , renovated but still not enjoyable. I sat on toilet... More

Overall not bad. Very clean and comfortable room. The only drawback was finding the shower without curtain or glass so that water would not leak, and the shower should be hung overhead. The hotel staff greeted us excellently. Very happy with them.

It was Saturday and the post office was closed. The front desk staff said she would mail my postcards for me on Monday. I gave her the money for the stamps. It has been over 4 weeks and no one has received a postcard from Prague. Don't trust the staff.

Nice hotel near the center - you can go everythere by foot. My room was on the top floor, rather small but cozy. Bathroom was big. Very clean. I had everything I needed except the kettle to have coffee. Breakfast was very good. Wi-fi worked perfect.

The Good: The room was clean, breakfast was included and generous and tasty. The housekeeping staff was very helpful and cooperative. The Not-So-Good: For an independent hotel (where I usually prefer to stay), I didn't feel like I received great value. Also, the front desk staff are polite but they don't go out of their way. Some of them don't... More

Location ok, 15 min walk to Vaclavske sq and Staromestske sq. Overall, it was acceptable but for 4-star rating you would expect better comfort and service. Despite modern windows, you hear all sounds from the street. And, room was very cold (we stayed in Jan). Radiators were lukewarm. We stayed there 5 nights. Every morning we complained to manager, received... More

Stayed for a business trip more than a week. My room was a double room for single use, because I was hoping for a little more space. Had a room under the roof, very cozy, but still small, as so many hotels try to maximize the number of rooms. Nice modern bathroom, furniture a little aged, but not worn. International... More

I managed to score a room in the roof, it was a split level room, with a sitting area on the higher section and a comfortable bed in the lower section. The bathroom was well equipped and we were snug and warm the whole time even though it was sub zero outside. Breakfast was included and provided an adequate first... More

Pros: location (a bit far but within walking distance from the old town; plenty of eateries and supermarkets nearby), excellent room comfort (except for the bathroom), reasonable breakfast, good WiFi, fair price Cons: dated bathroom (handheld shower only), sustained highway noise, indifferent staff, dubious hygiene in the breakfast room, expensive parking (though in fairness this is the case throughout central... CURRENTLY staying at the Hotel Opera as part of a seven day business trip in Prauge. We selected this hotel due to the location and the positive reviews on hotels.com where we booked. We do not have more than 100 rooms as you mentioned, but only 67 rooms. On the morning of... More

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred meters long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theaters. National Theater near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
