There's nothing showy about Unitas, which made it just the right hotel for us. There's a small lobby, free WiFi and a breakfast buffet that puts American hotels to shame. Rooms are large and airy, with comfortable beds, a desk and sofa, and a sparkling new bathroom. The staff are friendly and speak good English. And the location could not... More

Very nice, modern renovated property (the building itself has some history). Very friendly and helpful staff, good location near to transport and the river. The rooms are modern and spacious, recommended.

Very good Location, less than 10 minutes walk to the old town square, but very quiet. Wifi worked great, stuff very friendly and helpful, rooms are spacious. The highlight was the breakfast, extensive and always fresh, I loved the local specialties, such als plums with bacon, bread pudding with plums, hering, apple pancakes and a dish called "drowned man" that is... The room was large and comfortable. The interior decoration was austere and the funiture locally made, but I think this was appropriate and befitting of the Hotel's history. The location was great and we could walk to the centre of the old town in under 10 minutes. The staff were very polite and helpful and the breakfasts delicious. We stayed... More

Room was large, but that is about all it had going for it. I would have rather had a smaller room with some personality instead. It was very quiet, and well located. I booked it based upon 5/5 reviews and that was misleading.

In the historical center of Prague, near to the Charles Bridge, the Old Town and Venzel Square you'll find a comfortable Hotel in a quiet street - a former Jesuit convent, used by the communist secret Police as a prison, where Vaclav Havel was imprisoned.

Booked the hotel looking for a 2 night stay in Prague through tripadvisor. The 2 major criteria were simple: central location and parking. I chose this hotel as it fulfilled on both fronts and had a high ranking on tripadvisor while not pushing the purse to extremes. Clearly, the location is perfect: close to everything in walking distance while very... More

I chose this hotel based on some friends feedbacks... And the experience could not be better... It was a great surprise indeed! Hotel decoration is lovely.. Rooms are extremely comfortable and staff team is incredibly friendly! They serve a delicious breakfast too... But I believe that the location is the best feature of this hotel.... It is one block away... More

We stayed for 3 nights in late July. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious, with air conditioning for comfort in the summer heat. The hotel was across the police station so it was very safe and very quiet. And yet it was less than 10 minutes walk from Old Town Square and less than 5 minutes to the tram stop.... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
