The true testament of a hotel is not how it is when things go right, but how it responds when things don't go so well. Hotel Paris Prague failed miserably on that account. Our opinion of this hotel is definitely tainted by the poor communication skills of the front desk personnel and management. I reserved the whirlpool for Sunday from 11 - noon. While I was relaxing, a woman I presume from the hotel came down (wasn't sure who she was as she didn't identify herself) and said that another room had reserved the area. I had made the reservation the day before and told her so. She left. In the meantime, the other room guests came into the area and got into the whirlpool, with the male guest threatening me, saying he would "call the guards" if I didn't leave. I feared for my safety. I went to the front desk immediately and asked them to explain what had happened. They couldn't. They only could show me a hand-written page in which my reservation had an "X" through it, and they told me I had cancelled this. I had done no such thing - why would I? When pressed about who had cancelled it and how (phone/in-person) they started back-pedaling and being very vague. The dishonesty and lies were stunning. Later the hotel manager came to the room to apologize for their error, offering a 50 percent room credit for the night before or 20 percent off our bill. We said this is unacceptable, and noted how they could make things right. She said she had to "go downstairs and check" later calling and confirming that she would acquiesce to our point. Yet - you guessed it - upon checkout, the manager herself had gone against her word, reverting to the original offer. I am still shaking my head as I write this. Not only did their error cause a guest to make me feel unsafe, but the manager's double talk added insult to injury. The management cannot be trusted, and this trickles down to other staff member as this is their example. There are LOTS of choices in Prague. Go elsewhere.…
Beautiful hotel in the heart of Prague. Absolutely amazing service, all staff friendly and helpful at all times. We’ll definitely recommend this hotel. It’s close to the Old Town, and the rooms are spacious and clean. Very comfortable and pleasant stay.
Great stay, the hotel is ideally located, close to all the places to see, with a very nice old style. The bedding is good and the room is quiet. The reservation system for the spa is ideal, congratulations. During 1 hour we have a privatized spa it's great. The breakfast is copious. There are some improvements: the toilet paper is irritating, the orange juice in the morning is cut strongly with water. The service of the restaurant at noon is really not terrible. Very slow, not very friendly and not very efficient. But I still recommend a stay in this hôtel.
Wonderful old style exterior and interior, friendly staff and good service. Great location close to the old town. Excelent coffe and sparkling wine in the breakfest + good choice of food is a best way to start each day!
The hotel is a gem of Art Noveau. It is located walking distance to the Old Town Square and a few steps of Powder towell. Staff is very firendly and service was great. Rooms are very good size, clean and well decorated.
A great hotel in a great location. On arrival we were welcomed with 2 bottles of fizz on ice to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. The hotel was quiet and our room spotless. Could not ask for anything else. Staff made us feel welcome and breakfast was lovely with a great variety. Would definitely stay again although would ask for a room in a different location. The only downside was that our room was situated above the main entrance and the hotel opposite started getting deliveries from 3am along with the rubbish being collected in the middle of the night which did wake us on more than one occasion. Other than that the hotel was fantastic!
Firstly a big thank you to the Hotel Paris team… everyone of you make this hotel memorable to every guest that comes through the doors. Your smile, politeness and professionalism make this a 10/10 review. Breakfast and dinner was first class just like the service.
We have been in many hotels but this hotel is really the best so far. what a beautiful location in the center of Praha . Very nice interior and never before experienced such a super hospitable staff from reception, car service, staff at breakfast, cleaning everything top arranged. Celebrated my 50th birthday here, surprised at breakfast with a delicious pastry and even sang haha super, after a wonderful day through Praha there was even champagne in the room thanks again for this. We will definitely come back here. Greetings Marjon and Rico from the Netherlands
I am somewhat torn about how to rank this hotel. On the one hand, it is a lovely older property close to the Old Town center with modern luxuries like warm beds and showers and very quiet hallways. The breakfast was outstanding and we enjoyed the buffet. This is clearly, however, a property that suffers terribly from very poor management. We had not one, not two, not three, but at least four examples of very uncomfortable situations with the staff that, I believe, come from their being incredibly understaffed and overworked. The first was when we came down for breakfast and we were told, "You have already eaten breakfast." We sort of laughed and said we hadn't, and he said again, as if we were trying to get away with something, "You have already eaten. I have already checked you off." My husband gently pointed out that with our family, we had three rooms under the same name, and perhaps he had checked off a different one? Upon closer inspection, the server realized his mistake. He did not apologize. It was very uncomfortable to be treated as though we were trying to get away with something. The second instance was after our group of 30 (for which we had paid $150 per person for dinner) was still dwindling in the dining room at 10:15. My husband apologetically said to the host, "You'd probably like for us to leave," and the host answered very clearly with his body language and irritated face, that yes, we had overstayed our welcome. We had a three course dinner with a talk scheduled starting at 7:00. 10:15 is hardly too long, especially considering how much business we had brought to the hotel. The third instance was when we arrived back to the hotel after an evening out and asked the doorman if the restaurant was still open. It was 9:45. He said it was. When we walked into the restaurant (which states it is open until 10:00), the waiter seemed VERY irritated that we would still want food, but agreed to serve us. We waited until almost 10, when I finally approached him gingerly at the bar to make sure he hadn't forgotten us, and he looked at me with ice and practically spat out each word, "I. Am. The. Only. One. Here. I. Am. Making. A. Drink. For. Another. Table. That. Ordered. Before. You." I apologized and tried to giggle and say I just didn't want to make it any later. At any rate, it felt awful and we ate as fast as we could to get out of there. Finally, when we went to check out, they told us we had used a bottle of BRANDY from the MINI BAR. Our family consists entirely of non-drinkers. When we said that was ridiculous, they sent the maid upstairs, who STORMED into my sons' room, right past them while they were inside (no knock, no apology), and checked the mini bar, where they confirmed that no, we hadn't had brandy, but again, no apology or concern that we had been made to feel uncomfortable. Additionally, I observed one poor waitress on Monday morning trying to single-handedly serve the breakfast crowd. She was running from one table to another, getting drinks, wiping down the tops, stacking dishes, and resetting the table. My heart went out to her. She was doing the work that four people should have been doing. That's a management problem, and it speaks very poorly of the people in charge. Look, one awkward moment with a staff, I get it. We're all trying to get back into working around people and dealing with additional covid regulations and stress. However, FOUR TIMES being made to feel that we were putting them out was too much for a supposedly luxury hotel. We felt like we were somehow putting them out by giving them business. This is our second time leading a group of 30 to Prague, and it will likely not be our last, but we will not be staying here again. Management needs to keep enough staff so that those who are there aren't at the end of their rope trying to serve guests, and no hotel that wants to consider itself luxury should allow their staff to continuously treat the guests as if they are an annoyance.…
Where do I begin... This hotel was just the most amazing place we stayed in our 3 week trip. Everything was just stunning and perfect.. This interior of this hotel is like an art deco museum. Every thing from the elevator to the sconce lighting to the staircase its all first class all the way. Had so much more personality then the larger chain hotel like four season and the ritz carltons. Service was top notch all the way. Celebrated our anniversary emailed ahead to get chocolates for the hubby. When we arrive champage and a amazing corner room..bathrooms, slippers heated floors in the bathroom. Also a huge bottle of water complientary Just bliss. BTW you MUST get both boxes of chocolates. My only regret was not buying more chocolates to take home. Front deck was amazing... I am always in need of something... forgot my charger for my extra battery pack they plugged it in for my all night. Got us excellent directions to where ever we needed to go. Every single staff memember was excellent. We had probably 5 different people and they all were great. For our anniversary dinner we wanted to stay in so we went to the Cafe restaurant.. We were the only one there for dinner... the food was AMAZING!! the steak was to die for. we actually ate there again the next night because the food was so amazing. Our waiter was excellent and the food right up there with a michelin star restaurants we have dinned at. Price was so reasonaable and a dream to eat. The Location is the best you can get. Forget able looking anywhere else with a better location this is it. I must had read about 50 hotels reivews to find the right one and this was it by far. Also there is a nice massage place about 100 feet way. So nice to grab a massage and basically walk down the hall (street) right to your room. I really can't say enough about this place. I would have expected to pay more than double for my room and service. If you have any questions just ping me.…
