Couldn’t fault, the room was lovely, spacious and clean. Very affordable for what you received. Also brilliant that you can use the pool and spa next door free of charge. We were able to check in early which was brilliant and left our luggage behind the checkout on the day we were leaving. Really close to everything, about a 10 minute walk to the square down a lovely street.
Stayed in a lovely one bedroom apartment. Clean and had everything we needed, more than enough for the four of us The hotel is lovely and staff very attentive. Used the pool which was a little cool and the sauna which was needed after a long day in the city. Superb position for easy access to the castle area and old town. Would stay again!
First the Golden: This apartment hotel is centrally located and walking distance to all of Prague’s major attractions. It is next door to and directly affiliated with the Intercontinental Hotel, which greatly brings up the rating. The staff at the Intercontinental are extremely pleasant and helpful, and Golden Prague guests use their facilites for free (a big plus for us since we usually seek to book at hotels with swimming pools). Room service is also available from the Intercontinental. We needed to change our reservation twice and the staff was flexible with us, so that was greatly appreciated. The housekeepers do a fantastic job and are not intrusive. Now for the Grey: We are a family of 3 and booked the Superior 1 bedroom apartment, which is suppose to be for 3. The apartment was much too small, although the small space could be made to function better if someone put some though into it. The sofa bed is a small twin bed the pulls out and it creaks like crazy with every move. There were only 2 chairs for 3 people, the bathroom has a half door which leaks all over the floor and the bathroom space is also poorly thought out and not functional. The pillows were like some kind of large deformed marshmallows. The kitchen was poorly equipped and had no type of coffee maker. There were also no mugs big enough for coffee or tea, just espresso cups. The biggest No-No is that the bedroom has no door! We can’t understand why there was no door but this made it simply like a room, not an apartment, which is exactly what we did not want. There was a TV in the “bedroom” but it was not hooked up, so we had to make several calls to get a technician to bring cables and connect it. The building was quiet except for one night when someone had a dog that yapped until about 3 a.m. The elevator is extremely small and slow, so we mostly took the stairs.…
These apartments are attached to the Intercontinental Hotel and you actually check in at the hotel. There was a bit of a glitch when I got here as the automatic doors for the apartment block would not open from the outside (using the key card) or inside (using the motion sensor). Quite laughably, myself and another guest outside could not get in and a guest inside could not get out. It took around 30 minutes before it was sorted - I waited inside the hotel as it was quite cold outside. The concierge was very welcoming and came and found me when it was fixed. Hopefully, this kind of issue doesn't happen often. The room itself was really good. Nice and spacious, very clean and very quiet. Having a separate bedroom is good. Given the living room area and kitchen it is obviously geared up for those spending a little more time in Prague and wanting freedom to spend some time indoors and not having to eat out all of the time. A bit ironic as I was there for only one night. I would stay here if I was coming back to Prague.…
The location of the hotel is excellent, about 20 minutes taxi (around 350-400 czech) from the airport. A short 10 minute easy walk to the old town and surrounded by shops, restaurants and bars, and the water and park within 5 minutes the other way. The room is large, with a hot, powerful shower, big big, large sitting area with fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle, ironing board, and really really excellent gym, and a moderate pool (which was always taken over by kids while we were there). Staff were helpful and welcoming. The pillows on the bed are TERRIBLE. We ended up using the sofa cushions instead which was a real disappointment. There is no coffee equipment, despite cups and kettle, which would have been a good addition. The air conditioning in the main living area is great, but it doesn't seem to control the bedroom which got hot and stuffy.…
We stayed here for 3 nights with our daughter. The apartment was large, separate bedroom and living room. Our daughter slept on the sofa bed. Kitchen great, everything you need for a short stay with kids. Dishwasher and tablets available. The bathroom has a combine shower gel/shampoo and basin gas hand soap so bring other toiletries such as conditioner and body lotion. Bed was comfortable with large pillows, found the pillows way too soft, but that’s just me. The furniture is functional and the apartment was clean. Decor a bit outdated but everything was clean. Check in at Intercontinental hotel, friendly staff. We made use of the gym, swimming pool, saunas and jacuzzi. All fantastic facilities. We also had breakfast in the hotel restaurant, very friendly staff, in particular Monika and Karolina in the restaurant who topped up our coffee and were very attentive. Perfect location for sightseeing, 5 minute walk to Jewish synagogue and fantastic shopping, Cos, Pravda, Celine. Short walk to Charles Bridge 10 minute walk to Astronomical clock and 20 minute walk to Wenceslas square. …
Just back from 4 night stay great Apartments, We had our 2 year old son with us great for families very clean apartments close to everywhere would highly recommend. Nice friendly staff , nothung to complain about beds very comfortable.
I would give 3.5 stars if I could. The apartment complex belongs to the posh Continental hotel but is in a separate building, and you can tell the difference, the Golden Prague could do with a bit of TLC. Check-in at the Continental was professional but curt, you feel a bit like second-class guests as soon as you mention you’re staying at the Golden Prague residence, but maybe it’s just me. The one-bedroom apartment we had was nice and spacious but a tad tired in places (e.g. the dated bathroom and kitchen area). The bed was very comfy but could do with a plug nearby to charge your phone. Location-wise, it is very quiet and relatively close to the centre, and the nearest (small) supermarket is about 5 minutes away. You have access to the gym/swimming pool of the Continental hotel but it is a bit of a kerfuffle. You have to take the lift to the second floor, then walk all the way to another lift in front of room 267 to get down to the facilities, then sign in. The pool is much smaller than it looks on the website pictures, and the water was too cold for me. The gym on the other hand, looks impressive. Don’t get me wrong, all in all it’s a good place to stay but if you are after an apartment you can get just as good (and closer to the centre) for a fraction of the price if you choose a privately-owned apartment – that is if you can do without a gym/pool/24H desk. …
Pros: -Location and use of the Intercontinental Hotel facilities like pool and gym. Cons: -Old furniture -Old elevator (it takes about 20 seconds to close doors and sometimes several minutes to arrive) -There is no reception desk, everything is handled at the Intercontinental. -Lack of proper cleaning, the aisles rugs are really dirty! nasty. The rug in our room was also very dirty but not as nasty. -The old sofa bed was very uncomfortable. -Air conditioning was not good. Coolest mode was barely cool. They do not have parking space for guests, you should use the public parking (underground) that is just in front of the building but beware of cost... $50 USD per night! This is not about the hotel but also beware about the taxi drivers, all of them will try to overcharge you one way or another!…
We stayed here for 4d3n during Dec 2017 for our honeymoon, they even gave us a welcome cake and a bottle of champagne FOC! The location is really superb as well, walking distance to everything and there is bus stop just right in front of the hotel, we made dinner for some of the night using the kitchen and everything was flawless. Highly recommended to stay here whether for leisure or business
