Absolutely outstanding location. Maybe one of the best hostels in Central Europe. In a very old building with bags of character and quirkyness. Has some of the “faded almost run down” atmosphere you seem to get in most hostels (Part of the compulsory spec you could say) but if it was given new stair flooring, repaint the walls and put up some little lights and place potted plants then the discerning tourists would flock here. Very helpful staff, and yes that location again. In the more pleasant Lesser Town side of the river you just couldn’t better it. Reasonable prices being a hostel in dorms or private rooms are available at still very competitive rates.
The only good thing about this place is its location, the rest was terrible. We stayed 3 nights in one of their private rooms and its condition was really poor: stained walls, dark and smelly bathroom, dirty fridge, missing lights. Also, it was really difficult to get some rest at night because of the noise level. One of the nights in particular there were people on the hostel patio, talking loudly and smoking pot and we could hear absolutely everything they were saying as if they were inside our room. They stayed until 3 am and the worst is that they were not guests but people working at the place. Finally, they forgot to charge us showing how disorganized this place is. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
I loved staying at this hostel! The staff are super friendly and very helpful! The location could not be more perfect! I was able to walk absolutely everywhere I wanted to go and there were tons of restaurants and things to do right outside. I definitely recommend this hostel!
Totally recommend this hostel. Beautiful old building, literally right next to Charles bridge! Staff were extremely helpful and very kind- free hot drinks and water all day. The apartments we stayed in were both excellent ( stayed twice for 3 nights each time, one week apart) They were well equipped and clean. Very little noise and a lovely atmosphere . Great value for money. The building was very old (14 th century ?) so we totally understood why there was no lift ! The stairs were manageable even for this very unfit nearly fifty yr old however, if you do suffer with limited mobility you may find it difficult - I suspect the staff would go out of their way to help you in anyway they could- they were magnificent ! Would definitely stay there again with my family , many thanks to all the staff…
I stayed with a group of friends at the Charles Bridge Hostel and it was perfect for us. Nice rooms and even nicer staff :) a very cool bar downstairs and the location In the city couldn’t better better. Highly recommend!
The best place you can stay in Prague for sure. The host was incredibly nice to us and helped us our group of 3 with everything from planning our day, to the best money exchanges to even keeping our bags free of cost for our last day after the checkout. Would recommend this place to everyone. Our 4th floor room was also really spacious and clean + we got it as a super cheap price. I'm gonna stay at this place next time as well!
My favorite hostel of my trip. Great location on a very pretty street. Check in was superb - host warmly welcomed me, gave a map and where to join a free walking tour (do this!!) explained wifi, facilities, etc. and walked me up to my room - traditional service like this really makes a difference! Room was nice with towel at your bed, was in a 1/2 full room with guys my age. Multiple outdoor tables on patios between floors. Kitchen area was big. Decor was just as beautiful as prague. Free espresso!
Great hostel, friendly and helpful staff, wonderful cat, perfect location. Would definitely stay again and would 100% recommend this place to anyone. We stayed in the female dormitory, and the only thing that bothered me is there weren’t really sheets for the beds - We did have mattress covers that fortunately we witnessed the staff changing (we were a little worried at first that they didn’t wash them, but evidently they do). Each bed had a blanket, pillow & pillow case, and mattress cover. I’ve stayed at many hostels and to my memory they’ve all provided sheets, so this was new. Anyway, if I were to stay again I’d bring my own twin sized sheets. There were no bugs or anything, so that’s good. The bathroom was large and clean. The room itself was clean. The ceiling was super cool, the view was amazing. All in all, I loved staying here and would recommend it to anyone!…
My friend and I stayed in the apartment that is part of the Chatles Bridge Accomodation (separate from the hostel). The location was outstanding, we were blown away by how easy it was to access everywhere in Prague each day! The staff were lovely, helpful and friendly. A real asset. The apartment was lovely, with a great view of Charles Bridge. The bed was a king size and was comfortable. Small shower that was powerful but not very high. Large towels and hairdryer were provided. The only thing this apartment was missing was a small hand towel in the bathroom and a full length mirror! Tiny little touches like these 2 would have been the icing on the cake for this property. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and our second time in Prague!
Charles Bridge Economic Hostel is absolutely amazing! It is in a great location, right next to the Charles Bridge and around the corner from the Lennon Wall. The staff is absolutely amazing there and they are more than willing to accommodate your needs. They even printed out or boarding passes for free and made us hot drinks each morning. The room was great - very spacious and the beds were most comfortable. They also have the most adorable cat ever that hangs around the check in desk. She is super friendly and just added to the great atmosphere of the hostel.
