This hotel is a good example of ripping off people in Prague hiding behind policy or unaccountability. I have recently made a booking by mistake for which they received payment, a significant amount. I immediately wishing a few minutes notified them. However, I was refused a refund due to their "policy". I visited the hotel and demanded some explanation, but I was made fun of and very impolite staff refused to connect me to manager. The matter is with the police and legal process now.

Room and bathroom were spacious. The bed was comfortable. The only thing that did not please me in room was the dust on TV and thencold. The room was really cold even though there is a radiator. We asked for a wine corkscrew, but the receptionist said he couldnt lend us one. I wouldnt expect that in a 4-star hotel. The location of the hotel is ok, its just futher from metro station, or we just couldnt find a closer than Andel.

Very clean, within walking distance of all the main sights. A very pleasant 20 min stroll to the Castle for example. If we return to Prague we would have no hesitation staying here again. If you are ok walking then this is a great place to stay.

Great hotel in a lovely quiet area, 15 minutes to the old town/bridge by tram. Had a room on the 4th floor which was clean and light, beds comfortable and fantastic shower. Check in at reception was easy and they were helpful in giving you all the info you need for your stay. They will also help with any trips or sightseeing. Our room was cleaned every day but if this doesn't happen, just ask at reception. Great continental breakfast with good choice of rolls, cheeses, hams, eggs, cereals, yoghurts, fruit, pastries etc. and plenty of coffee. The public transport system is subsidized by the Czech government so over 65s are free and 60-65s tram/bus tickets are half the price. Their bus/tram system is brilliant and the best way to see Prague so using Google Maps (which is a godsend) you can go to all the sights by tram/bus. I bought 3 day tickets from the yellow machines at the airport and each day you use one, just validate it at the tram/bus stop or on the tram/bus and it stamps it for 24 hours use, just keep your passport with you to confirm your age (we never saw any inspectors). As I'm 60 it cost me 180 Czech krona (£6.50) for 3 days travel. We also used public transport from and to the airport and although it took 50 minutes, it saved us a fortune (taxis can be anything between £30-£40.00). The tram stop is round the corner at the bottom of the hill from the hotel. We could leave our bags at the hotel after we checked out so we went to the lovely park across the road for a couple of hours. If you want a lovely meal and great beer, we found a little gem called the Beer Spot which is 6 minutes walk from the hotel. There's a lovely shopping mall about 5 minutes walk Nový Smíchov Shopping Centre, which has all the brands you could want and a Tescos. Would definitely use this hotel for Prague again.

Most enjoyable stay at this hotel. Arrived off an early flight, short wait until a room was ready and it was everything we needed. Comfortable, clean and spacious. Breakfast was continental and certainly didn’t go hungry. A bit out of the centre which made it lovely and quiet. We would recommend it

We stayed 3 nights (room only) and everything went smoothly. Easy check-in, pleasant staff, clean rooms and modern decor. The hotel seemed very quiet but that didn’t take anything away from our stay. It’s very close to Prague 1, just 25 minute walk or 10 minute Lime scooter ride. We had breakfast on two of the mornings at just 500czk (€10). The breakfast was reasonable and offered all the basics you’d expect for that inclusive price. Really good value. All in all, we were very happy with our short stay. I’d recommend.

The hotel is in a good location. It doesn't have the infrastructure to deserve four stars. Furniture is old. Even though we stayed for two nights, the cleaning staff did not clean the room until we left the hotel. The very tall and thin receptionist girl, who I think has just started a job, behaved like a secret police to the tourist coming from Turkey. Despite the fact that we have special passports and stamps of about thirty European Union countries, she persistently asked for visas at the entrance to the hotel with a police style. When we checked out of the hotel, she did not allow us to leave the hotel without obtaining the address of our next accommodation, which could cause a diplomatic crisis (since I have diplomatic mission visas). His approach to us was ignorant as befits racists. Ignorance as a contagious disease appeared in this hotel after the covid pandemic. People who should not be employed without training, unfortunately, in return for cheap labor, are employed in places such as tourism that contribute to the country's income and undermine this sector.

Response from Matúš Mažec, General Manager at Red And Blue Design Hotel
Responded Jul 25, 2022
Dear Emrah, we are sorry to read that our hotel did not meet you expectations. However, I am afraid that the main issue, which you mention in your review, was a misunderstanding. Cleaning in our hotel is free of charge and on request only. During the check in process, when signing the registration on a tablet, you have the possibility to tick the boxes with dates, when you require the cleaning to be done. From your records I see that you did not select any day for cleaning. This is the reason why we didn´t clean your room. You can always ask at the front desk to do the daily cleaning every day between 8am and 4pm. We are sorry about the misunderstanding about the visas. Every hotel in the EU is obliged to collect registration information including residence address from its customers. Certainly, we do not require your future residence address, but your current registered residence address. This applies to all guests including Czech citizens. We want to strongly emphasise that racism at our hotel is something that is unthinkable. We value inclusion in every form and our team is international. Our team consists of people from Uzbekistan, Ukraine, and also from Turkey. We are continuously training our staff and will make sure that such a misunderstanding does not reoccure. Apologies. Once again thank you for your review and we hope next time we will meet your expectations in every possible way. Kind regards Matúš, hotel manager
